A teaser trailer is released before the feature trailer, is typically less than a minute long, and may not include actual film footage. A feature trailer is longer at 3-4 minutes, includes footage from the film, reveals characters and hints at the plot. While teaser trailers can confuse viewers and feature trailers may reveal too much of the plot, this document discusses using a three-way split screen in a feature trailer to hint at a decision without revealing the ending.
