Types/ Model ofTeam Teaching
1. One Teach, One Observe - Model Explanation: One teacher takes
the lead in teaching, while the other observes students and records
their behavior, learning progress, and engagement. This model helps
the teachers understand how students behave or which students need
extra help.
Example:Teacher A teaches a lesson on geometry to a class of 6th
graders.
Teacher B walks around the classroom observing student behavior
and interactions, noting how well students are grasping the concept,
and later provides feedback on areas of improvement for both
students and teaching strategies.
5.
2. One Teach,One Assist - One teacher
teaches, and the other moves around to help
students. This model help of students who
are shy or struggling get one-on-one help.
Example:
Teacher A explains a science experiment.
Teacher B helps students who are stuck with
their materials or have questions.
6.
3. Station Teaching
Theclass is divided into smaller groups, and each teacher
takes one group at a station. Students get to do different
activities and learn in small groups.each group rotates
between different activity stations.
Example:
In a 5th-grade science class studying ecosystems, there are
three stations:
Station 1 (Teacher A): An interactive lesson about the food
chain.
Station 2 (Teacher B): A hands-on activity where students
create a simple ecosystem model.
7.
4. Parallel Teaching
Theclass is split into two groups, with each
teacher instructing the same content but in their
own way. Managing large groups for better
participation. Addressing diverse learning paces.
Example:
In a history lesson, both teachers cover the same
chapter but use different strategiesāone
focuses on storytelling, the other on visual aids.
8.
5. Alternative orDifferentiated Teaching - One teacher
works with the majority of the class, while the other
works with a smaller group needing remedial or
advanced instruction.tThis model use when students
have signiļ¬cantly different learning needs and
Introducing enrichment or remedial sessions.
Example:
In a language class, one teacher focuses on grammar
rules with the main group, while the other provides
advanced writing exercises to a few students.
