A NEW MODEL FOR DISCOVERY AND DISTRIBUTION:
For years, the independent film industry has created an unspoken competitive spirit among filmmakers. Competition for festival slots and buyers’ attention has left many filmmakers bitter at the success of others. As the traditional deals fade away, filmmakers now find themselves at a crossroads as new collaborative models emerge. The production side of filmmaking has been democratised, now it is time to open the discovery and distribution processes. A step in that direction is From Here to Awesome. FHTA is an R&D lab of sorts, an open source project that is focused on experimenting with new business models, creating open tools and standards and making recommendations for best practices.

The document proposes a new economic framework called Unity in Diversity (UDI-ism) as an alternative to capitalism and planned economies. UDI-ism aims to internalize externalities by including social costs (Tier 2 costs) in pricing through methods like pollution taxes. This would incentivize choices that minimize total direct and social costs (UDI costs), better aligning private gains with public welfare. The system would also dampen boom-bust cycles through longer time horizons imposed by Tier 2 stakeholders. All parties, including investors, communities and customers, could benefit under this approach.

This study aimed to understand prostate cancer patients' attitudes toward out-of-pocket healthcare costs. Semi-structured interviews were conducted with 34 prostate cancer patients. The majority had health insurance and did not feel burdened by costs. However, 3 patients with less education and income reported financial difficulties. Most patients felt that health was more important than cost and their treatment choice was not affected by prices. However, patients without insurance may feel differently. The study provides insight into patients' perspectives on healthcare costs.
This document discusses patient-controlled health records and integrated care. It argues that patients should own their health data, not institutions, in order to truly integrate care across settings. A patient-controlled record system called PKB allows data to flow wherever a patient chooses, including to healthcare providers, researchers, insurers, and other stakeholders. This innovative approach starts with giving patients control and has enabled an integrated care network that spans geographical and institutional boundaries to provide the best possible care.

This document discusses mental illness and treatment in three phases: pre-diagnosis, diagnosis, and rehab/reintegration. In pre-diagnosis, it examines concepts of mental well-being and when to seek treatment. It questions if primary healthcare is equipped to diagnose mental illness. During diagnosis, it looks at distinguishing different disorders. Rehab/reintegration analyzes psychotherapy versus somatotherapy, issues of free will and forced treatment, and controversial treatments.
The document defines nursing as involving diagnosis and treatment of actual or potential health problems through a problem-solving process. It outlines the nursing process as assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation. The nursing process is used for critical thinking, communication, and developing an individualized care plan. Physical assessment involves gathering data through interviews, observations, examinations, and medical record review. The data is analyzed to identify problems and clinical judgments, which are then expressed as nursing diagnoses. Goals are set to direct interventions and evaluate their effectiveness in addressing the abnormal signs and symptoms identified in the nursing diagnoses.
The document describes exploratory research conducted on primary care systems. The research included interviews, shadowing healthcare providers, and analyzing patient workflows. The research identified several issues with current systems including repetitive tasks, wasted time for patients and staff, and a lack of coordination between visits. The document outlines four design implications to address the issues: 1) shorten the entire process or eliminate repeated steps, 2) move activities to avoid unused time, 3) find new ways for patients to interact with doctors, and 4) bring patients closer to support systems to increase efficiency.
The document summarizes exploratory research conducted to redesign primary care systems. Key findings include:
1) The appointment process and doctor visits involve repetitive steps and unused waiting times for patients and staff.
2) Patients value time with their doctor most but it is the shortest part of the process.
3) Support systems that store patient information are underutilized, and patients are disconnected from these resources.
The research examines patient experiences and workflows through staff shadowing, surveys, and comparing systems in other countries to identify areas for more efficient design.
The document outlines a design project to restructure primary care systems. It examines factors like patient experience flows, social and cultural considerations, physical environments, technologies, and policies that impact primary care delivery. The goal is to provide patients a more comprehensive health support system through a new primary care structure and design.

Cell Therapy Expansion and Challenges in Autoimmune DiseaseHealth Advances
There is increasing confidence that cell therapies will soon play a role in the treatment of autoimmune disorders, but the extent of this impact remains to be seen. Early readouts on autologous CAR-Ts in lupus are encouraging, but manufacturing and cost limitations are likely to restrict access to highly refractory patients. Allogeneic CAR-Ts have the potential to broaden access to earlier lines of treatment due to their inherent cost benefits, however they will need to demonstrate comparable or improved efficacy to established modalities.
In addition to infrastructure and capacity constraints, CAR-Ts face a very different risk-benefit dynamic in autoimmune compared to oncology, highlighting the need for tolerable therapies with low adverse event risk. CAR-NK and Treg-based therapies are also being developed in certain autoimmune disorders and may demonstrate favorable safety profiles. Several novel non-cell therapies such as bispecific antibodies, nanobodies, and RNAi drugs, may also offer future alternative competitive solutions with variable value propositions.
Widespread adoption of cell therapies will not only require strong efficacy and safety data, but also adapted pricing and access strategies. At oncology-based price points, CAR-Ts are unlikely to achieve broad market access in autoimmune disorders, with eligible patient populations that are potentially orders of magnitude greater than the number of currently addressable cancer patients. Developers have made strides towards reducing cell therapy COGS while improving manufacturing efficiency, but payors will inevitably restrict access until more sustainable pricing is achieved.
Despite these headwinds, industry leaders and investors remain confident that cell therapies are poised to address significant unmet need in patients suffering from autoimmune disorders. However, the extent of this impact on the treatment landscape remains to be seen, as the industry rapidly approaches an inflection point.

5-hydroxytryptamine or 5-HT or Serotonin is a neurotransmitter that serves a range of roles in the human body. It is sometimes referred to as the happy chemical since it promotes overall well-being and happiness.
It is mostly found in the brain, intestines, and blood platelets.
5-HT is utilised to transport messages between nerve cells, is known to be involved in smooth muscle contraction, and adds to overall well-being and pleasure, among other benefits. 5-HT regulates the body's sleep-wake cycles and internal clock by acting as a precursor to melatonin.
It is hypothesised to regulate hunger, emotions, motor, cognitive, and autonomic processes.
