This document outlines the drilling design for a capstone project involving a horizontal well targeting a carbonate reservoir containing heavy oil. The well design involves drilling laterally perpendicular to a fault with a target depth of 2273 feet TVD. A mud design of 9.6 lb/gal freshwater and bentonite is proposed, along with a cement design containing silica fume and fly ash. The casing design includes conductor, surface, intermediate, and open hole sections. A drill bit program is designed to maximize penetration rates. The estimated final well cost is $1,050,000, excluding infrastructure.
