This campaign is to reposition "Bubbles by Merry", a very distinct sparkling wine in Merry Edwards' Winery portfolio.
The challenge was given by Professor John Durham during the Advertising class, part of the Master of International Marketing program at Hult International Business School, San Francisco, CA.
Our solution came from a consumer behavior insight. We have decided to tap into a completely new market niche, and revamped both brand positioning and packaging design. We have created a 360º integrated campaign in order to tackle this opportunity.

1.Introduction
In Nathan’s My Freshman Year (2005), she was involved in a university community again as a freshman to know the difference between International and American students. She finished her research as a participant observer which means the researcher who is both insider and outsider during the cultural studies. Nathan did everything as an “observation-participant” to study the college life and students. She studied like a real freshman and lived in the dormitory. However, she is a middle-aged woman who has the different experience and generation from freshman. She is not “native”to the culture.
Since I am an international student, I always feel so different when I came to UCSC community. The cultural , life habit, study environment, everything are so fresh and challenging for international students to involve in. When I firstly came in College 9, I felt that everything is so international and corresponds to the theme of College 9 ---“International and Global Issues”. During International orientation, I met and made friends with so many Chinese students. Between our conversation, I found that most of us confused in the new environment. The communication is the most serious problem and it is difficult for us to involve the community. Chinese students lose their confidence easily because the native languages between Chinese and English have totally different background and logic. The general trouble is hard to communicate with others, which makes students become more silent and reticent. People can improve their ability of language by interacting with American students. However, most of Chinese students are willing to stay with Chinese friends. Students are too shy to interact with Americans, so they have no chance to improve our language. Also, some Chinese students don’t care about involving with American community and just hang out with Chinese. Moreover, in the class, Chinese students should have a long time to adapt with the new circumstance because of the language, the culture, the teaching style and the thinking model. According to these findings and feelings, my research question is : “How can Chinese students become more involved in college life?”
2. Research design and methodology
In order to answer the Research Questions, I decide to do the interview with Chinese and American students to collect the specific data. Since I am a Chinese student, I am both an “insider” and an “outsider” during my research. Because as a Chinese student, I can feel the true confused emotion and challenging which most of Chinese students face now. Also, as an interviewer, I must interview the Chinese and American at the same time objectively.
2.1 Research context

Roman legions, renowned for their discipline and engineering prowess, secured and maintained these vast territories, building roads, fortifications, and cities that facilitated control and integration.
The Roman Empire’s society was hierarchical, with a rigid class system. At the top were the patricians, wealthy elites who held significant political power. Below them were the plebeians, free citizens with limited political influence, and the vast numbers of slaves who formed the backbone of the economy. The family unit was central, governed by the paterfamilias, the male head who held absolute authority.
Culturally, the Romans were eclectic, absorbing and adapting elements from the civilizations they encountered, particularly the Greeks. Roman art, literature, and philosophy reflected this synthesis, creating a rich cultural tapestry. Latin, the Roman language, became the lingua franca of the Western world, influencing numerous modern languages.
Roman architecture and engineering achievements were monumental. They perfected the arch, vault, and dome, constructing enduring structures like the Colosseum, Pantheon, and aqueducts. These engineering marvels not only showcased Roman ingenuity but also served practical purposes, from public entertainment to water supply.
