• Clip starts off silent to build suspense
• Incidental crescendo drum and trumpet music, creates tension and suspense
• A medium shot of a car driving through fog is used to create mystery and to get
the audience wondering who is in the car and what is going to happen
• The fog lingers as more titles appear, fog is a convention of LA Noir
• Neon lighting – convention of a film noir
• Close up on a man’s eye with red and black lights flashing over his face. Shows
he is dead behind the eyes. It shows he is looking about what is happening in the
city
• Camera through a car window onto the city, it is raining which blurs the lights
of the city giving a confused effect and making the audience feel the atmosphere
• All through the clip there is incidental jazz music
• The camera is now inside the car that was seen at the beginning, this gives an
insight into what is happening inside the car.
• The car then travels through the city and a slow motion shot of people walking
across the road is used. The camera then cuts to another close up of a man’s eyes
showing the disgust on his face. This shows his distaste towards the people.
• The shot then fades out using fog, this again shows mystery.
