Ensuring Special Needs Students Receive Proper Support in School
1. TASK 3.4
In every case students with special needs will face some difficulties. I believe that it is very
important to let the teacher know about every special need that they have.
Although this may seem obvious, for many students and for their families, it is vey hard to speak
up about disabilities because they fear discrimination and lack of appropriate help. This is a
problem that we must learn how to solve, because with professional help, assessment and
counseling, both students and teachers can find out what is better for each student.
As for case #6, I think the traditional educational system is just NOT working to help people with
ADHD. We have to understand that people with this syndrome won´t learn sitted in a bench.
We have to find the way to teach them AS THEY MOVE. So, we have to give her short tasks to
complete in the first place. And these tasks should be adapted to the way she learns. Is she is
visual, we have to give her tasks that she may complete with a lot of visual content.
