This document analyzes the conventions of an opening movie sequence. that this will be a villain in

direct speech but after
hitting the guard an upbeat
music plays briefly to
emphasize the action being
seen
The location is set in a
prison cell. The locations
soon change as the
prisoner escapes

3. The typography is white in
a bold font- it being white
helps you read it in
contrast to the dark
background
The background is a jump cut
of a car chase scene. This
shows that the person in the
earlier scene is attempting to
escape from prison
The sound is of tires
screeching and police sirens in
the background of a fast pace
music which signifies how
intense the scene is

4. This scene introduces another
character. We know this as
there is a close up of his face
The location of it is inside a calm
normal house, but out the window
you see a car chase
The sound is of police sirens.
At first it makes the
audience(and this character)
think its coming from the TV
but instead it links to the car
chase we saw earlier
The mood is peaceful until
the car chase in the
background interrupts it

5. This introduces another main
character we know this from
the close up of his face
So far the characters have
been oblivious to the car
chase which is taking
place behind them, this
shows they may be
ignorant
This scene is located at a dock
showing that the car chase is
happening all over this
city/town.
