Light writing involves moving a light source in the dark while the camera shutter is open for a long exposure, creating trails of light. Using a slow shutter speed, small aperture, and low ISO allows the background to appear black while the light trails are visible. Out of focus images are created by adjusting the camera lens until the subject is blurred, which works well with light sources as it turns them into circles of light. Changing aperture, shutter speed, and ISO can also produce blurring effects.
