Talented Man in low paying job
Have you ever met anyone who's really talented but still never finds a good job ?
They are excellent at what they do. And still...
They're still stuck at the same underpaid job they've always been at.
That's exactly what happened to one of our students.
Let us say that his name was Mark.
He was an incredibly skilled finance consultant with 10+ years of experience.
He was the best at his job.
He just knew how to help organizations solve problems, improve their performance, and
make them grow. He had been working at the same bank for several years.
Honestly, he hated the job.
Long hours.
Lots of responsibility.
And a very low wage.
The problem was he wasn't here because he wanted to. He was there because no matter
how many interviews he attended. He just couldn't get a better job somewhere else.
He always got answers like:
"You are not the profile we are looking for."
"Don't call us, we'll call you."
Sometimes, he'd get rejected just after a couple of questions from the HR recruiter.
He always wondered...
Why do I always get a no?
Why is it that if I study constantly to be updated I am always rejected?
What's wrong with me?
Am I not a good professional?
He got rejected so many times, he just gave up trying to find something better.
He thought it was better that way. Maybe that's what he deserved, and that was the reason
he couldn't get any better.
A bad boss.
A low salary.
And a toxic work environment.
He decided to leave things as they were, and just settle with what he had.
Until that day when he got noticed.
He was being fired.
That's when he started getting frustrated.
Desperate.
He had no money saved.
No backup options.
He just didn't know what he was going to do next...
But he just knew he had to do something to change his situation.
And it had to be NOW.
That's when he got in touch with us and told us about his situation.
And we decided to help him.So, we started going through every interview he attended to.
Trying to find what he had done wrong.
That's when we discovered what was going on.
It's not that he wasn't qualified enough for the roles he applied to.
The problemwas he didn't know how to sell his skills.
He had no sales & negotiation skills whatsoever.
He didn't know how to persuade the recruiter and make him realize he was the ideal
candidate.
And if he wanted to get a job fast...
He needed to master this skill fast.
So we developed a learning strategy that will help him master the art of sales quickly.
The first thing we worked on his to shift his focus.
See ...
The worst thing you can do when you go to an interview is talk about yourself.
Your accolades.
How you were the top of your class.
Why do you need this job so much?
The recruiter doesn't care about any of that.
He only cares about two things. o you understand the problems you need to solve in that
job?
And….Can you solve them?
So I worked with Mark and taught him how to find the right answers to those questions.
He had two interviews in the same week.
He applied the same concept in both of them.And you know what? Instead of receiving the
typical "sorry, but we're looking for a different profile"...
He got two offers from two different companies. Two great opportunities. He didn't have to
keep hoping someone noticed how good he was.
Now, he got to pick which company to work with.And that gave him that sense of fulfillment
he always wanted. He understood nobody can tell you how much you're worth.
Only you determine that. If you think you deserve success. Then that's what you'll get.
All you need is perseverance, discipline, and the right skills. The last word is always yours
You decide what you are worthy of. Remember that.

Talented man in a low paying job

  • 1. Talented Man in low paying job Have you ever met anyone who's really talented but still never finds a good job ? They are excellent at what they do. And still... They're still stuck at the same underpaid job they've always been at. That's exactly what happened to one of our students. Let us say that his name was Mark. He was an incredibly skilled finance consultant with 10+ years of experience. He was the best at his job. He just knew how to help organizations solve problems, improve their performance, and make them grow. He had been working at the same bank for several years. Honestly, he hated the job. Long hours. Lots of responsibility. And a very low wage. The problem was he wasn't here because he wanted to. He was there because no matter how many interviews he attended. He just couldn't get a better job somewhere else. He always got answers like: "You are not the profile we are looking for." "Don't call us, we'll call you." Sometimes, he'd get rejected just after a couple of questions from the HR recruiter. He always wondered... Why do I always get a no? Why is it that if I study constantly to be updated I am always rejected? What's wrong with me? Am I not a good professional? He got rejected so many times, he just gave up trying to find something better.
  • 2. He thought it was better that way. Maybe that's what he deserved, and that was the reason he couldn't get any better. A bad boss. A low salary. And a toxic work environment. He decided to leave things as they were, and just settle with what he had. Until that day when he got noticed. He was being fired. That's when he started getting frustrated. Desperate. He had no money saved. No backup options. He just didn't know what he was going to do next... But he just knew he had to do something to change his situation. And it had to be NOW. That's when he got in touch with us and told us about his situation. And we decided to help him.So, we started going through every interview he attended to. Trying to find what he had done wrong. That's when we discovered what was going on. It's not that he wasn't qualified enough for the roles he applied to. The problemwas he didn't know how to sell his skills. He had no sales & negotiation skills whatsoever. He didn't know how to persuade the recruiter and make him realize he was the ideal candidate. And if he wanted to get a job fast...
  • 3. He needed to master this skill fast. So we developed a learning strategy that will help him master the art of sales quickly. The first thing we worked on his to shift his focus. See ... The worst thing you can do when you go to an interview is talk about yourself. Your accolades. How you were the top of your class. Why do you need this job so much? The recruiter doesn't care about any of that. He only cares about two things. o you understand the problems you need to solve in that job? And….Can you solve them? So I worked with Mark and taught him how to find the right answers to those questions. He had two interviews in the same week. He applied the same concept in both of them.And you know what? Instead of receiving the typical "sorry, but we're looking for a different profile"... He got two offers from two different companies. Two great opportunities. He didn't have to keep hoping someone noticed how good he was. Now, he got to pick which company to work with.And that gave him that sense of fulfillment he always wanted. He understood nobody can tell you how much you're worth. Only you determine that. If you think you deserve success. Then that's what you'll get.
