Are you interested to know what actions help in a job search? This webinar is the summary of several individuals who discussed their job search journey for others to follow. You will learn there are common actions that helped them succeed in their quest for gainful employment.
2. CLEARING AN INTERVIEW COULD BE A DIFFICULT AT
TIMES. YOU MIGHT HAVE GIVEN YOU BEST SHOT THEN
YOU MAY STILL WONDER WHY ARE YOU STILL NOT
ABLE TO GET A JOB WHICH GIVES YOU BETTER
POSITION AND PAY THAN THOSE JOBS WHICH DO NOT
NEED ANY KIND OF EFFORTS?
WELL, YOU MIGHT FEEL YOU HAVE GIVEN YOUR BEST.
TRUST ME, YOU HAVE NOT. THERE COULD BE
SOMETHING THAT YOU HAVE LEFT.
4. Confidence
Appear confident during interview. You need to trust yourself. Confidence is
the key to success. Confidence can take you to the heights. You need to have
faith in yourself that you are good and can take up any challenge at work, that
you can reach any targets given to you, you can finish your projects by deadline.
5. Do your homework
Always research on company profile, job description, company clients, shift
timings etc before attending interview. It’s always good to go prepared as it will
help you in appearing confident and leaving impression on recruiters on how
serious are you about your work.
6. Appear 30 minutes early before your interview
Companies do not want to hire people who have no time sense. It is always
better to show up early than late and lose chance of making a good career.
7. Dress to impress
Always dress appropriately.
Boys – Wear formals with pair of good shoes. Avoid T-shirts, shorts, slippers,
sports shoes and sunglasses hanging on your T-shirt.
Girls – Wear Salwar or business wear without revealing much of your skin.
Avoid heavy make up and preferably tie your hair up.
8. Carry Resume
It is always good to carry extra copies of resume. Recruiters wont entertain you
without resume as it will show your irresponsibility towards work. Better carry
3 to 4 copies of resume as you never know when what the situation calls for.
Its always goo to be prepared.
10. Do not talk about salary until and unless asked
for
We all work for money. Yes, you have every right to know your pay. What we
are trying to tell you wait till the recruiter ask your expected salary. Till then do
not talk about it as you will force the recruiter to think that you are only
interested in the money and not on work. Also make sure you expect the salary
that which is right for your profile and your job description.
11. Avoid talking about your personal life
No matter how friendly the recruiter may seem to you, DO NOT i repeat DO
NOT TALK ABOUT PERSONAL PROBLEMS. This is just a test to see
whether you are the right person for the role. Always remember according to
recruiters, a person with more problems cannot produce effective output.
12. Never Argue with Interviewer
It is advisable not to enter into any kind of argument with Interviewer during
interview. Lets accept that the person who is taking the interview has more
experience, just listen & don’t argue to justify your point. We are not saying
don’t put across your point but put it in a positive manner & don’t argue to
justify that your are correct.
13. Never ditch the organization after accepting
the Job
Again very common mistake and some people have habit of keep trying in
various organizations for better package after receiving job offer & if they get
another job, they simply say NO before joining. Trust me it can spoil your
career in long run and you will never be able to reach top management with
this attitude…World is very small and in this networked age you can’t hide
these kind of actions…In future you will again come across same people &
then no one will hire, if they find that you indulged in these tactics. If u don’t
wish to join then please don’t accept offer letter but after accepting if u say NO
then it is totally unethical and unprofessional.
14. Do not talk bad about your previous employer
You might had bad experience with your previous company. Well you need to
keep it within yourself when talking to recruiter. If you can talk ill about your
old company, you can talk ill about them as well. So they will never give you
that chance to enter their organisation next time. So better watch your mouth.
