Engineering career presentation for middle schoolikfly2002
Engineering Week -like (aka Career Day) presentation targeted toward middle schoolers. This discusses what engineers do, similarity to inventors, famous inventors, a "make a sandwich" instructions exercise, and engineering career information.
Engineering involves applying scientific and mathematical principles to solve problems through design and construction. It uses the engineering design process which consists of 8 steps: identifying the problem, researching the problem, developing solutions, selecting the best solution, constructing a prototype, testing and evaluating solutions, communicating solutions, and redesigning if needed. There are many fields of engineering including aerospace, biomedical, civil, electrical, and mechanical engineering. Engineers design and develop new products, use science and math principles, conduct tests, create and build things, and solve problems.
This document provides an overview and instructions for practicing the Red2Blue skill of controlling one's attention and responses under pressure. It reviews IQ tests and individual triggers, then provides exercises and tools for preparing, practicing, and reviewing decisions and performances from a Red2Blue perspective. The goal is to recognize when attention has been diverted ("red") and choose to refocus on the task ("blue"). Rituals, grounding techniques, and shifting attention spatially or to specific objects are recommended ways to redirect attention. A "DAPPER" framework is also provided for detaching, assessing, prioritizing, planning, executing, and reviewing decisions.

The document discusses leadership skills and their importance for effective leadership. It describes three main categories of skills: administrative skills which include people management, resource management, and technical competence; interpersonal skills such as social perceptiveness, emotional intelligence, and conflict management; and conceptual skills like problem solving, strategic planning, and vision creation. Examples are provided for each skill area. The document emphasizes that leadership skills can be learned and improved through practice in order to become a better leader.
The document discusses the importance of focus in group leadership. It states that the leader should be aware of what the focus is - whether it's on a person, topic, or activity. The leader must know how to establish, hold, shift, and deepen the focus, as this is essential for effective leadership. It provides guidance on directing focus through comments or activities, as well as how to hold, shift, and deepen the focus of the group. Maintaining an appropriate depth of focus is important, aiming to go below a level of 7 on a 10-point "depth chart".

The document discusses setting New Year's resolutions and provides context around their history and psychology. It notes that 40-54% of North Americans make resolutions, with most common being weight loss/exercise, quitting habits, debt reduction, and spending more time with family/friends. However, completion rates drop significantly within the first few months. The document then discusses the historic roots of resolutions in ancient Babylon and Rome. It provides tips for effective goal setting using the SMART framework and explains how the conscious and subconscious mind work together.
Lawyers must manage stress. This includes flexibility. The Stress Management Realm of emotional intelligence as measured by the EQ-i 2.0 concerns the ability to be flexible, tolerate stress, and be optimistic. This includes the Flexibility subscale. Flexibility means the ability to adjust emotions, thoughts, and behavior to changing situations and conditions. Here is an example containment strategies, tips, and work-arounds for lawyers and other professionals concerning flexibility and stress management.
The document discusses the Neurological Levels model, which proposes that people structure their thoughts, feelings, and actions across six hierarchical levels. These levels include environment, behaviors, capabilities, beliefs and values, identity, and mission/vision. The model can help project teams identify and address issues by determining where blockages exist across the different levels. Making changes at higher levels has a greater impact but is more difficult than changing lower levels. The document provides tips for using the model with teams, such as getting buy-in, focusing on hot spots, and considering how changes at one level may impact other levels.
Setting and achieving goals provides several benefits. Goals can be long-term, taking years to achieve, or short-term, taking months or less. The purpose of goals is to improve and bring satisfaction to aspects of your life. Committing to goals creates accountability which makes achieving them more direct. Adjusting goals as needed is important, as goals that are too easy or difficult will likely fail. Achieving goals leads to reduced stress, improved focus, better performance, and increased happiness.
This document provides guidance on effective openings for difficult conversations. It discusses that openings are important for laying the foundation and setting the right tone. An effective opening has four key elements - being appropriately sociable, stating the purpose of the meeting, stating a benefit for the other person, and checking their willingness to proceed. It then discusses each element in more detail and provides examples. The document emphasizes using first person statements to avoid accusations, crafting a good benefit statement, and ways to assess and increase receptivity if needed.
The document discusses foundational execution and managing execution effectively. It identifies that defining the right things to do, making them visible and accountable, and getting them done are key to execution. It also notes that the form and quality of meetings reflects organizational culture and that poor meetings waste significant time and money across organizations. Improving meetings, focus on execution, and defining processes can help address these issues.
Organizational Agility: The Hidden Goal (And Often Missed Opportunity) of Agi...Michael Hamman
The document discusses organizational agility and the challenges teams face in maintaining performance over time without organizational changes. It introduces the Cynefin framework for viewing organizations, which categorizes domains of order, knowledge, uncertainty and complexity. Adopting an organizational agility mindset requires considering an organization holistically across its leadership, processes, culture and capabilities, rather than just at the team delivery level. This allows an organization to rapidly sense and effectively respond to opportunities and challenges.
The document outlines an objectives and topics of a workshop on self-empowerment led by Dr. Prakash Ramakrishnan. The workshop aims to create self-awareness, develop empathy, sharpen communication skills, build teamwork, cope with stress and emotions, improve leadership skills, and form successful habits. Key topics that will be covered include identifying strengths and weaknesses, the Johari window model of self-awareness, empathy, effective communication techniques, team building, understanding and managing stress, emotional intelligence, and establishing daily rituals.
Goal setting is a common practice in organizations and can lead to improved performance and productivity. But many companies struggle to properly execute the goal setting process. Here are 5 tips to help you set and achieve goals.
The document outlines a seminar on using one's work to change the world through an attitude approach. It discusses (1) defining work, (2) how to become the change one wants to create, and (3) strategies for doing so, including cultivating a change-agent mentality, raising standards of excellence, changing limiting beliefs, and adopting effective strategies. The goal is to inspire attendees to strategically position themselves to have greater impact and influence through their work.

LAND USE LAND COVER AND NDVI OF MIRZAPUR DISTRICT, UPRAHUL
This Dissertation explores the particular circumstances of Mirzapur, a region located in the
core of India. Mirzapur, with its varied terrains and abundant biodiversity, offers an optimal
environment for investigating the changes in vegetation cover dynamics. Our study utilizes
advanced technologies such as GIS (Geographic Information Systems) and Remote sensing to
analyze the transformations that have taken place over the course of a decade.
The complex relationship between human activities and the environment has been the focus
of extensive research and worry. As the global community grapples with swift urbanization,
population expansion, and economic progress, the effects on natural ecosystems are becoming
more evident. A crucial element of this impact is the alteration of vegetation cover, which plays a
significant role in maintaining the ecological equilibrium of our planet.Land serves as the foundation for all human activities and provides the necessary materials for
these activities. As the most crucial natural resource, its utilization by humans results in different
'Land uses,' which are determined by both human activities and the physical characteristics of the
land.
The utilization of land is impacted by human needs and environmental factors. In countries
like India, rapid population growth and the emphasis on extensive resource exploitation can lead
to significant land degradation, adversely affecting the region's land cover.
Therefore, human intervention has significantly influenced land use patterns over many
centuries, evolving its structure over time and space. In the present era, these changes have
accelerated due to factors such as agriculture and urbanization. Information regarding land use and
cover is essential for various planning and management tasks related to the Earth's surface,
providing crucial environmental data for scientific, resource management, policy purposes, and
diverse human activities.
Accurate understanding of land use and cover is imperative for the development planning
of any area. Consequently, a wide range of professionals, including earth system scientists, land
and water managers, and urban planners, are interested in obtaining data on land use and cover
changes, conversion trends, and other related patterns. The spatial dimensions of land use and
cover support policymakers and scientists in making well-informed decisions, as alterations in
these patterns indicate shifts in economic and social conditions. Monitoring such changes with the
help of Advanced technologies like Remote Sensing and Geographic Information Systems is
crucial for coordinated efforts across different administrative levels. Advanced technologies like
Remote Sensing and Geographic Information Systems

Changes in vegetation cover refer to variations in the distribution, composition, and overall
structure of plant communities across different temporal and spatial scales. These changes can
occur natural.

How to Build a Module in Odoo 17 Using the Scaffold MethodCeline George
Odoo provides an option for creating a module by using a single line command. By using this command the user can make a whole structure of a module. It is very easy for a beginner to make a module. There is no need to make each file manually. This slide will show how to create a module using the scaffold method.
Rate yourself on a scale from 1-10
1- You have a clearly defined Vision for that area of your life in the next 1-3 years
2- You have a well-defined plan of how you are going to get to your Vision
3- You feel there is consonance between that area and other areas of your life
Rate yourself on a scale from 1-10
1- You have a clearly defined Vision for that area of your life in the next 1-3 years
2- You have a well-defined plan of how you are going to get to your Vision
3- You feel there is consonance between that area and other areas of your life
In order to make better decisions, we have to change the way we think. There are 5 ways we need to think differently:
1- Binary
2- Critical
3- Lateral
4- Parallel
5- Systems
In order to utilize systems thinking and begin to bring more consonance into our lives, pick 3 areas that you would like to be more in harmony/consonance. Now I am going to ask you 3 questions to get you to start thinking in systems thinking:
1- Utilizing systems thinking, what effect do these areas have on each other?
2- What’s a decision you have made recently in one area of the triangle, and how do you see it effecting the other two?
3- What’s one thing in one area that you would like to change, and what effect will that decision have on the other two?
Now, this is all after the fact. In order to gain control over these things, we have to start being more proactive/Intentional. Before the fact.
