Fair Trade Ethnoscapes
Fair Trade has been a buzz word in the world lately with the movement towards human rights. It s
important to note that technoscapes and ethnoscapes have played big factors in this movement and
spread of ethical goods. Global consumption of coffee in the past two years has been lead in this
order from Europe, Asia and Oceania, North America, South America, Africa, and Central America
and Mexico ( TradeStatistics Table , 2017). A big reason why fair tradehas spread globally is
because of ethnoscapes, the movement of culture and people across borders. When people travel to
different areas in the coffee belt, they used to see the abuse of human labor, poor working
conditions, child workers, and that these farmers were not able to make much money... Show more

Along with the second biggest part of the equation are the consumers of the products, not only
the countries that import the goods. In the last six months, the European Union fluctuated, but
did not falter being the leading importer of coffee with 9,994 units in july 2017, 10,439 units in
September 2017, and 9,509 units in December of 2017. The United States imported 2,453 units
in July 2017, 2,255 units in September 2017, and 2,328 units in December 2017. Japan imported
580 units in July 2017, 607 units in September 2017, and 460 units in December 2017. The
Russian Federation imported 476 units in July 2017, 446 units in September 2017, and 467
units in December 2017. All units in thousand 60 kilogram bags ( Trade Statistics Table ). Within
the European Union is the biggest coffee market as well as the oldest coffee market, which are
the United Kingdom and the Netherlands. Both countries fair trade sales increased by 24% in
2011 and continue to increase as more producers become Fair Trade certified (Ladhari,2015). The
United States fair trade sales increased by 12% in that same year. While these statistics were
acquired, it was also noted about the consumer s purchasing trends compared to their personal
values. According to Pelsmaker, consumers ideal purchasing trends are not completely reflective of
their actual buying behavior (Pelsmacker, 2005). Therefore, the

Analysis Of The Song Diplo-Revolution
A Revolution The moments that matter are the ones that you will remember and cherish for the
rest of your life and the song Diplo Revolution (absence remix) is a song that can ignite those
moments. This song can be classified in the dubstep genre but because the original song is
considered to be EDM (Electric Dance Music) it is mixed up between the two genres. Kai (Alessia
De Gasperis Brigante) is the song writer and vocalist. She describes a value that she wants people
to hear through her lyrics. Kai was introduced to EDM by writing and singing for a very popular
DJ named Diplo(Thomas Pentz). Kai stimulates feelings and emotion in the song Diplo

EDM is not a genre that people hear or talk about on a daily basis but given the information

sex, drugs, and alcohol actually in most circumstances there are EDM songs that have no meaning
at all. This particular song makes people think about what they are listening to instead of just
listening to the melody of the music. The song Diplo Revolution (absence remix) has ignited a
very special moment in my life and these memories have the potential to last as long as I

Augustine Research Paper
Many great classical thinkers had a profound influence on later great thinkers. Plato and Aristotle
are just two examples that come to mind out of many. It would be interesting to ponder the
possibility as to whether or not the thought of later times would have the same ground that it has if
it were not for these great thinkers that came before.
In the early period of Christianity, the influence of Plato s philosophical criticisms of art can be
seen in effect in Augustine s view of the imagination as profane. One can question as to whether
Augustine s view of original sin would have been so negative if he had not imbibed the Platonic
conception of the Fall of the soul. The combination of Biblical and Hellenic elements made

Alfarabi is probably the least important of these, he is primarily significant because he was a
pioneer in the invocation of Aristotle as a philosophical authority (essentially paving the way for
the Golden Age of Muslim Aristotelianism). He is said to have believed in the unity of the
thought of Plato and Aristotle. Also, his work shows a confluence of their theories. An example of
this is his claim that God is simultaneously identical with the neo Platonic One and with Aristotle s
Self Thinking Thought . When we look at Avicenna however, we find the development of a
Muslim philosophy more independent of theological constraints as well as an Aristotelianism less
apologetic to supposed Platonic doctrine (philosopheruk). With this being said, Avicenna rejects
the conception of a divine creation of the world in time and follows Aristotle in considering the
primary aim of philosophy to be the study of being qua being. Algazali demonstrated a critical
backlash against the Aristotelianism of Avicenna, within the Islamic tradition. In his work The
Incoherence of the Philosophers , he attacks the inconsistency of the philosophical positions of
Alfarabi and Avicenna with orthodox Koranic interpretation (philosopheruk). This work is
significant philosophically because it does not rule out the possibility of philosophy de jure, but
rather points to the misuse of philosophy by both of his predecessors. In other words, he was
concerned with the philosophical ideas of the eternity of the world and the rejection of bodily
resurrection, ideas which he regarded not simply as theologically heterodox but as the result of a
misapplication of Aristotelian logical

John Adams And George Washington Essay
John Adams and George Washington were two instrumental leaders during the American
Revolution. Both men were quintessential to the success of the revolution in their own way. John
Adams pushed the revolutionary agenda and George Washington lead the continental army. The
methods for which they led our nation to success varied due to their differing leadership styles. In
consequence, George Washingtonhas gone down in History as a larger than life hero whereas John
Adams has nearly been forgotten. Though both Adams and Washington rose to become influential
figures during the revolution, their origins differed. Adams was born into a middle class farming
family in Massachusetts. His father was a farmer/deacon who decided John should go to university
and learns a noble trade. John received a formal education from Harvard and went into the
admirable profession of the Law. On the other hand, George Washington, although born into a
respected aristocratic Virginian family, did not receive a proper formal education because his father
died before Washington was of age to study in England, as was planned. Nonetheless Washington
gained knowledge from experience and observing those around him. The personal connections
Washington had resulted in many job opportunities for him. Though his education was cut short by
his father s death, he still had many important mentors such as Colonial Fairfax who granted
Washington with opportunity. Due to whom he knew, Washington was able to collect

Characteristics Of A Dyad Relationships
The characteristics and dynamics of a group is specific and changes in correlation with the size
of a group. A group is more than one person that unite to meet similar goals and needs. Georg
Simmel, a German sociologist, refers to a group of two individuals as a dyad, and a group of
three people as a triad. (Kendall 144). For instance, a married couple is a dyad group, and as the
dyad relationship evolves the group shifts to a triad when a child is born. As the group size
increases or decreases the dynamics, characteristics, and relationships change, accordingly.
Two individuals uniting as a married couple, a dyad, are associated with similar characteristics and
dynamics. While one married couple may have different goals or needs when compared to another
married couple, the overall characteristics are shared among majority of married couples.
Individuals unite with another individual because they share similar needs and goals in life. As an
example, an individual whom desires a life of marriage, a successful career, the purchasing of a
home, and a goal to build a family. Upon meeting another individual with these similar goals in
life may decide to tie the knot to form a dyad group. These two individuals carry on life working
together as a team to support one another and successfully fulfill these similar goals in life. A dyad
is an intense bond, and acquires unification between the two individuals. (Kendall 144). It is
essential that both individuals continue to work

Title Influence of Multichannel Selling Strategies Towards Consumer Buying Behaviour
Introduction The research dissertation that is proposed throughout this paper brings an indication
towards the topic of multichannel enhancement. The topic has seen a major shift in how consumers
are using the multichannel environment to purchase more and more than ever before (Jones,
2013). The retail environment has evolved with this consumer shift, in becoming more dynamic
towards the customer s needs and creating a more customised channel (Whitler, 2016). A personal
interest comes towards this topic from my involvement in retail over the past five years,
experiencing this retail evolvement first hand. Literature Review The developed definition of the
use of multichannel in the retail market has been branded towards the opening of multiple channels
to communicate towards the customer (Zhang et al., 2010). The importance of multichannel selling
strategies has significantly grown with the rise of new business channels emerging into the market
(Stojković et al., 2016). In view of this growth, a dominant approach of retailers combining
classical (store) channels and electronic (website) channels has shown extensive successes for most
of the world s leading retailers (Stojković et al., 2016). In addition to this potential success for the
retailer, the benefits can also be passed onto the customer, which will be discussed, then simply
using the selling strategy to communicate with the

Giving In To Kill A Mockingbird
The definition of giving is to present voluntarily and without expecting compensation; bestow.
There is something powerful in giving, and there is something powerful in receiving. We can t have
giving without receiving. We can t have receiving without giving. They both require each other. But
giving has a different meaning than others would expect. Givingis something you do for someone
you admire or care about. It s showing that person how much they mean to you. It doesn t matter
if you give lots or little. What matters most is the thought. In the book To Kill a Mockingbird,
Boo Radley is stereotyped as a monster, a beast, and a freak. People said he ate dead animals, his
teeth were yellow, his eyes popped, and he drooled all the time.... Show more content on

She goes from being an innocent and naГЇve little girl, to being a strong and brave young lady. She
begins by showing a greater depth of understanding about other townspeople. Towards the end
she loses much of her innocence due mostly to the trial of Tom Robinson. She witnessed and
learned so much from it and it helped her tremendously. She understands more about life and
people. The biggest thing she saw and learned was how cruel people can be when they are racist
and bigots. Throughout the course of tbe book she also learned about other peoples thoughts
and feelings. She finds this out by seeing how nice of a man Boo Radley is at the end of the
novel. At the very end of the book when Scout says of Boo Radley: ... neighbors give in return.
We never put back into the tree what we took out of it: we had given him nothing, and it made
me sad it made me realize that this was the immature Scout coming out of her. She was finally
able to put herself into other peoples shoes and think about their feelings, but she wasn t putting
that to use now. In her mind, she felt bad about it and thought they didn t give him anything in
return. But in all reality, they did give him the things I mentioned earlier. This comment
definitely comes from the child Scout narrator. A child would think that Boo received no
material objects from the Finches, but an older and more mature person would realize that Boo
received new friends and the joy and pleasure of helping someone who needed it. Scout also
doesn t realize how much this would help Boo in the future. As a child, Scout would feel so bad,
but as an adult, Scout feels so helpful. For once, Boo wasn t a scary monster; he was a real human

Inclusive education means that all students in a school, regardless of their strengths or weaknesses
in any area, become part of the school community. They are included in the feeling of belonging
among other students, teachers, and support staff. The educational practice known as, full inclusion
may have negative effects on the self esteem of a special needs child. In 1975, Congress passed the
Education for All Handicapped Children Act, also known as Public Law94 142. Before this law
came into effect many children with disabilities were routinely excluded from public schools.
Their options were to remain at home or be institutionalized. This law was an important landmark in
education and because of this law, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Integration presumes that segregation exists and students are with their peers without disabilities
part time. The CSIE did many studies and found that inclusion is more effective than either
integration or mainstreaming. Ferguson s (1992) project to achieve both social and learning
outcomes for students in general education classrooms resulted in the finding that integration doesn
t work, but inclusion does. In 1997 President Clinton signed into law the Individuals With
Disabilities Education Act. This law aims to strengthen academic expectations and accountability
for the millions of children with disabilities. This law makes it clear that schools have a duty to
educate children with disabilities in general education classrooms. With this law in effect the CSIE
began to really push the inclusion movement in schools.
When inclusion was proposed, educators primary concern was how learning disabled students
would benefit academically. Academic concern is important; studies on the success of inclusion
have determined that there are social issues that need more attention. A study on inclusion
conducted by (B. Dixon) in New Hampshire found that Even when students were first included in
regular classes, teams did not focus on the students peer relations unless parents pushed the issue or

Renzo Piano is a well known architect, best known for his phantasmagoric architectural
masterpiece, the Shard in London that constitutes a major landmark in О± big city like London.
Designed in 2000, it is the tallest building in the United Kingdom, while being for a while Europe
s tallest tower. It lost its title to the Mercury City Tower in Moscow in 2012 which is Europe s
tallest building.
As Renzo Piano said I don t believe it is possible to build a tall building in London by extruding the
same shape from bottom to top. It would be too small at the bottom and too big at the top.
Likewise, symbols are dangerous. Often tall buildings are aggressive and arrogant symbols of
power and ego, selfish and hermetic. The tower is designed to be ... Show more content on

The architect and Mr. Sellar applied for planning permission. Southwark Council was an important
supporter of the skyscraper, which had been administered planning permission at the end of
March 2002. Nevertheless, the works for the Shard almost ceased because of the fall of the Twin
World Trade Towers, in New York. According to Mr. Sellar the Shard will have refuges built into
its core . Furthermore, when plans for the Shard of Glass were first considered, environmentalists
labeled the Shard as a spike through the heart of the heritage of London.
Oppositions arose after the plans for the Shard passed through the Council and conservation groups
expressed their concerns about the changing skyline of London and that the skyscraper would
shadow over the Cathedral of St. Paul, the Tower of London. Renzo Piano stated that St. Paul
Cathedral is an extraordinary monument and an intrinsic part of London s heritage. I believe that
the new tower will not disturb its stateliness. They are breathing the same air, sharing the same
atmosphere; they are nurtured at the same source. . It should be mentioned that St Paul s Cathedral,
which for hundreds of year was the tallest structure, and even today is protected by laws which
protect the sight lines to the cathedral, is a monument to the glory of God, symbol of hope, strength
and resilience of the city of London.
In the light of the above, in July 2002, the then Deputy Prime Minister John Leslie

A Note On Chinas Fixed Exchange Rate
The topic of Chinas fixed exchange rate has remained as one of the fiercest subject in global
macroeconomics for an extensive period of time. A fixed exchange rate or pegged exchange
rate is where a currency value is fixed against the value of another currency, in the example of
China, the Yuan or Renminbi it is currently pegged to the US dollar, it has been fixed to the US
since 1994 however within the past decade it has been allowed to appreciate a little at a time. But
in times of economical difficulties such as 2008 China halted the Yuan s appreciation as worldwide
demand for Chinese products slumped due to the global financial crisis (Picardo, 2009), this shows
the given Chinas recent economic difficulties government may keep the... Show more content on

China is able to persuade foreign manufacturing to their coasts as the cost is so low. For
example, as the dollar is stronger than the Yuan this would means that a T shirt can cost a
company five times more to produce and manufacture in the US as compared to China. This has
led international companies to seek the cheap labour costs moving their manufacturing process to
China, well known brands such as: Harley Davison. Apple, Ikea and The Body Shop all own or
have contract factories within China. These huge global companies were obviously provoked to
move manufacturing to China because of the the low costs, therefore more profit for them, this was
all caused by China having in place the fixed exchange rate. Consequently, it would seem that
having the fixed exchange rate massively benefitted China.
Throughout the past decade, China has become a Manufacturing Powerhouse (Eloot, 2013), low
salaries plus a strong supply base, makes an equation for ideal platform for exports, which china
defiantly benefited from. In 2011 China became the worlds largest producer of manufactured
goods and still remains to be, Factory Asia now makes almost half the world s goods (The
Economist, 2015). This has had a positive domino effect upon the wider economy in China, living
standards have doubled and the countries GDP per captia has doubled in the last 10 years an
achievement that took the UK 150 years to do (Eloot, 2013) This

what he likes to study, and what his powers are. To start off let me tell you how Harry Pottergot into
Hogwarts. Harry Potter was going to turn 11 in a week. Hogwarts usually gives out letters of
acceptances to kids they think have the ability of magic , or start the ability to have magic. That
means Harry Potter got his letter on July 24, 1991, a week before his birthday. In real life though
it actually is the Britain school law to get a letter by the age of 11. They also accepted Harry

EXISTING SYSTEM
The exist of web based system is one of the recent trends in industrial automation system. In
particular, service oriented architectures (SOA) lowenable the development of flexible
manufacturing systems that avoid the traditional problem of centralized control. One of the main
advantages of SOA is it is based on open web services standards which allow individual web
services to communicate completely platform independent. Its more than accures then one process

It is fails to exploit the full potential of semantic web service descriptions.
To changes the set of web services available tend to invalidate the BPEL processes.
To determining the semantic resemblance of different condition and effect expressions is

The attacks on Hamburg were not a turning point of the war as Bomber Command s fortunes had
completely disappeared once they started targeting Berlin, where their loss rates peaked to
unacceptably high levels. Therefore Gee made less of an impact in assisting the Allied strategic
bombing of Germany compared to Window. However the impact on Hamburg caused by
Window was relatively short lived because the Germans countered. On the other hand the long
range escort fighters, disposable fuel tanks and The Thousand Bomber raids had a long lived
impact. The P 51 Mustang was an important aircraft in the war that had an American airframe and
a British Rolls Royce Merlin Engine. Disposable fuel tanks, which increased the Allied fighter s
range were loaded onto the P 51 Mustang and by March 1944, the modified Mustang had a 1800
mile armed range and could fly with the bombers to Berlin and back. Richard Ovary said The long

with the destroying of 20000 houses and the evacuation of 200000 people.

B2B vs.B2C Marketing Differences
B2B vs. B2C Marketing
Marketing differs between business to business and business to consumer in a few different ways
the main one is the emotional experience of the buyer. The marketing programs are the same, which
includes: events, direct marketing, internet marketing, advertising, public relations, word of mouth
and alliance. The difference is how each marketing program is executed, what is said in the
program, and the outcome.
Business to Business or B2B marketing and Business to Consumer or B2C marketing follow
different rules but the outcome is still to sell the product or service to who needs or wants the item.

Three Causes Of The Boxer Rebellion
The Boxer Rebellion was an uprising initiated in China, after the Chinese suffered many
devastating defeats at the hands of foreign powers. Originating in the 1900 s, a secret organisation
called the Society of the Righteous and Harmonious Fists, began carrying out attacks on Chinese
Christians and foreigners. They became known in the West as the boxers , for their martial arts
fighting style. What caused the Boxer Rebellion? There were three main causes.
The first cause for the Boxer Rebellion, was the anti foreign stance in China. As a result of suffering
humiliating defeats in both the first, and second Opium wars, China was forced to grant
concessions to foreigners. Furthermore, they had to sign the unequal treaties which allowed the
West to gain a significant amount of control over China. This left the Chinese population poverty
stricken, and angry at foreign powers. The economy became disrupted by the arrival of modernity
and industrialism. According to historian David Silbey Many Chinese worked in industries that
were disrupted by the arrival of the railroad and the telegraph. There was a sense that China s
balance had been thrown out of whack by these modern innovations, and only by destroying the
innovations and the foreigners who brought them could the balance be restored. . The Chinese
regarded the West as foreign devils , and wished to retain sovereignty and independence. They were
extremely nationalistic. Mark Twain addressed the boxer rebellion in 1900.

I believe that banning this novel is a big disadvantage for younger audiences since they won t have
the chance to acquire some sort of knowledge of the topics that are considered to be censorable
material. Thirteen Reasons Why should not be banned since doing so doesn t only remove
knowledge material from younger audiences, but it also silences the authors, it prevents the authors
to have a say and let everyone know their thoughts and statements. Freedom of speech immediately
brings up in mind the First Amendment. The First Amendment protects the freedom of speech,
meaning we are able to express freely in any form of communication with no worries of getting in
trouble. For example, we have the right to petition the Government for a redress of grievances
freely. There have been some conflicts with the First Amendment and censoring materials. But
problems with freedom of speech are not as bad as other areas in the world One example is the so
called right to be forgotten, which allows negative information to be deleted from the Internet.
Abrams stresses that even repugnant statements are more broadly protected in the U.S. speech than
under many European democracies. (Abrams, 66). Protecting and taking care of the First
Amendment should be done properly and constantly to keep everyone sane. I believe that with the
First Amendment everyone gets a chance to speak and tell their own side of the argument

from killing union workers to stealing pricy automobiles. In Conker s Bad Fur day, you play as
a playful cartoon squirrel that drinks beer and urinates on the enemy to defeat him. In the
Journal of the American Medical Association, 90% of the games played today actually reward
the player to injure another person and these were the games rated Teen. These types of
gratuitous violence portrayed in video games transfer over into the everyday lives of these
children. Studies of children exposed to violence have shown that they can become: immune or
numb to the horror of violence, imitate the violence they see, and show more aggressive
behavior the more they re exposed to violence. Some children accept violence as a way to handle
problems. Studies have also shown that the more realistic and repeated the exposure to violence,
the greater the impact on children. For instance, a child in Kentucky ended up bringing a revolver
to school and shot 8 students. Police ended up pin pointing the source to the video games the child
had been playing. The child ended up raking in more than 10,000 hours of a shoot em up style game
that rewarded bonus points for headshots.
Even if the games are not violent, another side effect that video games have on the health of
children is with exercising. In a

Insurance Liability And Liability Insurance
There are many lines of different property and casualty insurances. Even though the general
purpose and utilization of these insurances is the same across the nation, prices fluctuate from state
to state. We will get into more detail in regards to Errors and Omission Insurance (E O) in the State
of California.
Errors and Omission Insurance, also called Professional Liability Insurance or Malpractice
Insurance, is used to cover legal expenses caused by potential errors and omissions during
operations and stipulation of cases.
When a company or firm is sued for making a mistake, performing services in a negligent way or
misrepresenting or financially harming a client, the consequences can harm a company in an
irreversible way.

Since E O insurance is important to carry when running a business most professions have this
type of insurance to cover a potential lawsuit that would otherwise cause them to file for
bankruptcy. It may come as a surprise that some states do not require businesses to have E O
insurance, but a large portion of contracts with clients required insurance for the contract to be in
effect. Having an E O insurance policy may sometimes be a selling point for potential clients.
When a client sees that a business has this type of insurance it gives them peace of mind knowing
that if there happens to be any error or omission throughout the process they will be compensated.
The same applies to the actual company. It makes it easier to accept new clients and cases knowing
that in case of any alleged misunderstanding or disputes, the policy would bring in protection and
coverage.
According to techinsurance.com about 70% of businesses raise prices or cut hiring when sued
and yet, $35 billion = annual out of pocket cost of lawsuits for small businesses. These numbers
are a clear indication of how important E O is for a business to operate.
Before getting into pricing, perhaps we should take a look at the overall market around the E O,
including how companies are hedging themselves against the possibility of a lawsuit.

Loss Of Children In The Stone Boy By Gina Berriault
The Stone Boy
Way too often we see kids who are neglected emotionally after a tragic event, and how negatively
it effects them later on. It forces them to give up their innocent childhood. That is exactly what
happens in Gina Berriault s short story The Stone Boy . The story is about a 9 year old boy who
accidently shoots his older brother dead. The boy shows no emotion, whatsoever, and it is clear the
grownups do not understand him, so he is labeled with words like cruel . He does not understand
his feelings and he loses his identity when his mother rejects him in a way no mother should. So he
is left alone, beginning to believe that he is actually cruel.
When we first meet Arnold, he is an innocent 9 year old child. There is nothing unusual about ...

When the accident happens, we see Arnold go into some state of shock and his actions after this
point are described as mechanically . This is a way for Arnold to shut off his feelings so he does
not have to feel the great grief of the loss of his brother. The Sheriff and the parents misinterpret
his way of dealing with his sorrow, and instead they label the boy as cruel. Arnold is already in
between identities because of the accident, which threw him out of the childish innocence, so he
needs his parent s guidance and comfort more than ever. He is very insecure, and in the interview,
he relies completely on his father s answers. However, when his parents believe he is cruel, he
thinks it must be right, so he takes on this new identity.
This new identity is described in the title as the stone boy , but this is not at all the boy we meet in
the beginning, so Arnold goes through quite a change in the short story.
There is also a transformation in Arnold s identity from day to night. In the daytime, we see a kid
who does not show any emotions. He does not seem to regret his brother s

Why Did The Crusade Persuasive Essay
2. Why do you think this language motivated people in the audience like Fulcher of Chartres to join
the crusade? What did the crusade have to offer them?
This language motivated people because it was persuasive and gave the crusaders benefits like
being redeemed. It would motivate people because it declares that the crusades are what God would
want for the Christians to fight against the Turks and Arabs. The crusades offered them with being
pardoned from sins and criminal actions such as robbery. Fighting in the crusades were seen as
becoming equal, no division between the rich and poor, they are fighting for the same cause.

Character Analysis Of Mr. Wills
Will J. The Taste of Melon: Mr. Wills Character Analysis Nov. 17 2017 In The Taste of Melon by
Borden Deal, the character of Mr. Wills is written as a round/complex character. Mr. Wills exhibits
three main traits throughout the story, and those traits do not change. First is his success as a
farmer, second is his emotional personality, and third is his intimidating and frightening demeanor
and reputation. While it may be easy to say that Mr. Wills is a dynamic character, his core traits
never changeat any point in the plot. Only the way he is perceived by other characters changes.
The first main character trait of Mr. Wills is his success as a farmer. During the exposition of the
plot as the narrator is introducing all of its characters, he says Mr. Wills was the best farmer in
the community. (Deal, 131) as if it was common knowledge. The narrator s father chimes in
when he says ...that he could drive a stick into the ground and grow a tree out of it. (Deal, 131)
Mr. Wills appears to show his technical proficiency in farming best when he is growing
watermelons. As the narrator put it; Other men, like Mr. Wills, can throw some seed on the
ground, scuff some dirt over it, walk off and leave it. And they ll have a crop of the prettiest,
biggest melons you ever saw. (Deal, 131) This trait did not change during the story; never was it
revealed that Mr. Wills was putting fake watermelons in his patch, or that he was importing prize
melon seeds. From what is shown in the story Mr. Wills is just a talented man.
The second main character trait of Mr. Wills are his volatile emotions. Beside the obvious
examples of him simply showing anger, such as When he plowed his fields you could hear him
yelling for a mile. (Deal, Pg. 131) There is also the example of him performing actions out of
anger and then regretting them later. Then I saw it, he was destroying every melon in the patch!
(Deal, Pg. 137), and You ruined the half of it, and I ruined the other. (Deal, Pg. 140) These quotes
show that Mr. Wills has a tendency to act brashly and then regret it. This is a trait that does not
change through the story, instead it is fully revealed near the end during the resolution of the plot

Contritely, Carton is a lower classman obligated to work for an aristocrat, yet Darnay is an

Pop Art In The 1960s
Years following World War II, the United States enjoyed an unprecedented period of economic and
political growth. The Vietnam War incited mass protests, the Civil Rights Movement sought
equality for African Americans, and the women s liberation movement gained momentum.
Entertainment stepped into the new level with the monumental super stars such as Elis Presley
led the emergence of Rock and Roll, Marilyn Monroe was a reigning film star, and television
replaced radio as the dominant media outlet. Yet by the late 1950s and early 1960s, a cultural
revolution was underway, led by activists, thinkers, and artists who sought to rethink and even
overturn what was, in their eyes, a stifling social order ruled by conformity. Following the
transformation to popular of the world, the new art movement had occurred, Pop Art. Pop artists
began to look for inspiration in the world around them, representing and, at times, making art
directly from everyday items, consumer goods, and mass media. When it emerged in the 1960s,
Pop art was not just about bold colors and celebrity culture; it brought the popular world from
cartoons and advertising to apples and bananas into the realm of high art, turning taste on its head in
the process. It was in this climate of turbulence, experimentation, and consumerism that a new
generation of artists emerged in Britain and America in the mid to late 1950s. They did this in a
straightforward manner, using bold swaths of primary colors, often

Little Voice is such an enigmatic person that has many personalities that some will say that she
is crazy as mentioned by her mother or she is brilliant by Ray. Some of the ways the movie
reinforces either or situation is by the use of point of view shots and the expressionistic acting of
Little Voice. Point of view shots is any shot that is taken from the vantage point of a character in
the film, showing what the character sees. (Giannetti, 526). This can be found with the positive
aspects of her when she is performing to a sold out theater with a smile on her face and
conversely, Little Voice can be seen in a different light with her yelling at her mother at the end of
the movie telling her Can you hear me now, mother? The scenes mentioned above helps builds the

Repentance Of Sinners In The Parable Of The Lost Sheep
How is Luke s claim on repentance of sinners in the Parable of the Lost Sheep being illustrated by
the differences in detail found, in comparison to the Gospels of Matthew and Thomas?
The Parable of the Lost Sheep is one of the many parables Jesus gave during his lifetime. It is
found in the two canonical gospels: Matthew 18:10 14 and Luke 15:3 10. It is also found in the
non canonical gospel of Thomas 107. It is about a shepherd who leaves his flock of ninety nine
sheep behind to go look for the one sheep that is lost. This context is similar in all of the three
Gospels.
However, although there are similarities, there are also differences. These differences have an
implication for the message grasped by the readers. The focus will be on the repentance of sinners
claimed in the Gospel of Luke and how it differs from the messages found in the other two Gospels.
I will do this by analyzing the effect of the differences in language, symbolic representation, location
of the parable, audience, and the context in which it is written, found in these three Gospels.
In terms of symbolic presentation, Luke uses the word sinners to compare them to the sheep as seen
in verse 7, ...one sinner who repents... Jesus is giving a reason why he is friends of tax collectors
and sinners. This is because they are like the sheep, lost and need saving through repentance. In the
Gospel of Matthew, Jesus uses the words little ones . Jesus uses these words after giving a lesson
about caring

As the Spaniards ruled the country, Dr. Jose Rizal made his great move in making our country
united as one. He called himself Filipino because he believes that the Filipinos are the natives of
the country and should fight for their own freedom. This is the time when the birth of the
Filipino nation started. Rizal has been called the Great Malayan . He has been declared as the
First Filipino . His works, talents, and achievements made him to that kind of praise. He is one
of our great heroes. He showed his countrymen that they could be something less than merely
brown Spaniards. That they could be Filipinos, a people sharing common roots in a common
land. He expressed the growing national consciousness of many Filipinos who opposed Spanish
colonial tyranny and aspired to attain democratic rights. He fought for our unity and for the
freedom of our country through his pen and writings, not by fighting violently. He brought with
him a burning idealism which we very much hope to see being rekindled today. The Bangsamoro
people or the Moros simply do not want to be united with the Philippines. They wanted to have
their owns . They wanted their own laws, own forces, government officials, and budget from the
Philippine government and other aspirations of the Bangsamoro people. This is the total
opposite of what Rizal had sacrificed for all of us, Filipinos. We should spread equality among
us. For us to be united, equality will be the first ingredient. It is equality, which the people should
be for us to be united as one. No racism, having equal rights, fairness; these are what should be
taught to all of us, not only for the Moros. We can t judge them if they don t want unity, when we,
people of the north, don t even apply and understand what we

A Past Life Of Enslavement Analysis
A Past Life of Enslavement At the time of our forced servitude to the whites, we struggled but
managed to keep a somewhat civil community in relationships within the plantation. We could not
marry under the law because only those considered legal entities who could enter contracts had that
entitlement. Most of us treated our relationships as marriage nonetheless, labeling one another
husband and wife even in knowing the whites kept neglecting our rights. On our plantation, and in
many others, the master encouraged marriage and had rituals to perform the act. Our owner
awarded us the ability to choose who our partner would be; however, I heard about times where
masters would force marriage upon their slaves (Williams 1 3). When we wished to

Should America Use The Metric System Essay
The metric system is used across the world, all except for the United States of America and two
other countries. The United States of America currently uses the Imperial system instead of the
metric system despite the rest of the world using it. Why would The United States of America not
use the metric system even though there are so many benefits to it? Switching to metric can mean
more business opportunities for America from other countries. The metric systemcan be the link for
fashion designers to have more opportunities in other countries, or scientists as well. Because of the
loss of jobs due to not using the metric system in America, the country won t advance. The biggest

The organization NASA made this mistake due to using Pounds instead of Kilograms. Another fact
that PBS states is the ease in trading in internationally; nevertheless it eliminates duplication in

the metric system the world will have a better view of America. A logical fact that was outlined by
Daniel Pink is division by ten and one hundred instead of eight by twelve. What he means by that, is
the use of teaspoons and milliliters. The usefulness of changing from the imperial system to the
metric system is the difference of switching to the simplest of words and simple measurements.
Celsius is a measurement that people find too much effort to change to. Yet, the change is as easy
as getting used to Fahrenheit. Another source that is all about making America switch to the metric
system is gometricusa.org. They outline the benefits such as cutting manufacturing costs and like
Daniel Pink, the ease of trading in International trade. However, the website actually lists the reason
why it s easier and how it cuts costs. It outlines the preferred metric sizes in international industry

Essay on Don t Treat Juvenile Offenders As Adults
Prior to 1899, in the United States, child offenders over the age of seven were imprisoned in the
same facilities as adult offenders. As a result of political and social reformers, society s views on
juvenile justice began to shift to a more sympathetic view. Beginning in 1899, individual states
began to address the youth incarceration problem by establishing youth reform homes, the
predecessor to juvenile dentition centers. The objective of these homes was the rehabilitation of
juvenile offenders for their re entry into society and for the greater good. However, in recent years,
many have argued that juveniles charged with violent felonies ought to be treated as adults; while
others argue its antithesis. In 2005, Kirk Gunderson (17)... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
These three arguments reveal that correlation between acts of violence against juveniles and
their imprisonment in adult facilities. Violence Toward Juveniles is Higher in Adult Prisons
First, violence towards juveniles is higher in adult prisons. According to Black s Law
Dictionary, violence is defined as or of, relating to, or characterized by unlawful physical force.
When public opinion envisions violence in adult prisons, it thinks of deadly assaults which can
range from murder to rape. Juveniles in adult prisons are viewed as easy targets for attack,
manipulation and sexual exploitation. Studies show that while 36.7% of juveniles in juvenile
facilities report being victims of violent attack, 45% of juveniles in adult facilities report similar
abuse. Also, sexual exploitation is reported to be five times more likely in an adult facility than in
a juvenile facility. Mel Cardona Rowe, former female juvenile offender remarked, on her
experience at an adult facility. When asked about sexual assault in adult facilities, she explained her

Messi is The Best Soccer PLayer The world s best when I was growing up was Pele and he would

player that currently plays with both Futbol Club Barcelona and his country Argentina. In the other
hand, Cristiano Ronaldo is a Portuguese soccer player that is playing with Real Madrid Club de
FГєtbol and his country. Both of these guys have wrote their names down as some of the the
best soccer players in the world and continue to add records because they are not going to stop
soon. While critics argue that Ronaldo is the best player, I argue that Messi is the best player of

Flight 11
On the morning of September 11th, 2001, four planes were hijacked in mid flight. These planes
were hijacked by multiple terrorists, who planned to conduct suicide attacks on America. Soon
after the planes were hijacked, the first plane crashed into the North Tower of the World Trade
Center, tragically killing everyone on the plane and killing hundreds on the floors of the World
Trade Center. 1,402 deaths occurred in the North Tower, and 87 deaths occurred inside Flight 11
(the plane that crashed into the North Tower.) Immediately after the first attack, NYPD and FDNY
forces dispatched units to the scene, and President George W. Bush was alerted. At the time, he was
in a Florida elementary school, reading to children. As evacuation processes happened throughout
the South Tower of the WTC, the second hijacked... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

George W. Bush gave a statement from Florida, responding to the attacks, calling them an apparent
terrorist attack on our country. Only 6 minutes after his initial statement did the third attack occur,
and it was on the Pentagon. Hijackers crashed Flight 77, the third plane, into the western side of
the Pentagon, killing 59 on board and 125 people inside the building. Consequently, the FAA
grounds all flights over or bound for the United States, and sends thousands of commercial flights
and private planes to airports in Canada and the U.S. Additionally, the White House, Capitol, and
other high profile places are evacuated as well, in case of another attack. In the late morning,

The Importance Of Equal Pay For Equal Work
Despite the numerous benefits society reaps from equal pay for equal work , there is still a
prevalent gender inequality that persists. Research indicates that Australia s female senior
executives earn drastically less money than their male co workers across all types of pay, not
just performance based (Hutchinson et al. 2015, p. 785). It was found that executives who were
female, represented 8.2 per cent of the study sample, earnt approximately 22.58 per cent less in
base salary compared to men during the same sample period (Hutchinson et al. 2015, p. 787).
Furthermore, if executives were granted performance based pay, women were awarded roughly
16.26 per cent less in cash bonus and 18.21 per cent less in long term incentive pay (Hutchinson et
al. 2015, p. 783). Provided women are awarded less money in all forms of compensation, the idea
of women breaking the class ceiling is a difficult task that seems unobtainable to most. In such
circumstances despite entering the workforce, women may experience reduced motivation to seek
management or board positions due to the extended effort they have to provide over men.
Important gender differences still influence numerous labour market outcomes and possibilities
(Farre, 2016). Women s discontinuous labour market participation is a major contributor to gender
inequality within the labour force (Arnarson Aparna, 2010). Women are often forced to exit the
labour market for an extended duration of time due to many reasons such

Rhetoric Of Malcolm X
Malcolm X s upbringing was one of extreme struggle and violence, as such it is unsurprising that
when he got older and involved with racial politics he took a more extreme approach. Whilst
Martin Luther King and other civil rights leaders were expunging the importance of equality and
becoming a racially integrated society Malcolm X was loudly calling for self imposed segregation
of African Americans. Joining the nation of Islam helped to define and shape Malcolm X s
philosophy of raceand until his eventual Hajj to Mecca he remained furiously racist towards
white people. Malcolm X was despite his unique character simply the voice of an oppressed and
angry group of people in America with the Nation of Islam being a huge voice in the civil rights
era. Martin luther King s approach of nonviolent protest was put into perspective by Malcolm X s
fiery rhetoric and perhaps even helped to give more power to Kings push for concrete racial policy
change.
Malcolm X is well known to be the outspoken alternative to Kings talk of peace and integration,
however, despite this it is known that he had a real feeling of respect towards him. Malcolm X
represented the African Americans who were at the bottom rungs of society, those that were poor
and angry at the generations of oppression they had been forced to endure. In his autobiography he
describes in detail the nature of a system that oppressed black Americans on a massive scale.
Martin Luther King always had a much bigger following than

Matthew Brady Inherit The Wind
Inherit the Wind is a powerful play written by Jerome Lawrence and Robert E. Lee that tells of
the significant battle of conventional, religious powers versus freedom and the growing reality of
Charles Darwin s theories. This play is not the exact encounter of the courtroom battle but rather a
dramatic retelling of one of the greatest courthouse showdowns in human history. Although many
think the religious Bible thumpers defending the Bible to be bias and inconsiderate in this play
and in the actual account, those accusers may now look back and see that those Bible beaters

He obviously lacked the ability to see that Mr. Cates was not trying to rebel against religion but
was instead a lost soul searching for the truth. Mr. Cates needed love and help to find the truth,

have revealed to the world and Mr. Cates that he cared about the individual person and their
freedom but he was unwilling to let the false beliefs of Darwin be pushed upon the millions of
children in the nation of the United States grounded upon the authority of God. It was ok for
Brady to be all for the preservation of the Bible and Christianity but he should have seen reality
and respected other opinions, even if they were crazy and instead lovingly and truthfully reveal to
the confused their faults. While the battle was taking place in the courtroom two beliefs were
trying to find their way to the top. Matthew Brady tried to defend the Bible and keep peace,

Examples Of Biological Determinism In The 1800s
Biological determinism is the concept that most human characteristics, physical and mental, are
determined at conception by hereditary factors passed from parent to offspring. In the 1800s this
was the mindset of the majority of people. This was applied towards women and education. It was
firmly believed by many Universities and individuals that women should not get an education
beyond basic schooling. Most universities in the United States did not allow femalestudents until
the 1830s. It was believed that because men s brains were bigger and had more grey matter they
were superior to women with a smaller brain size, women were also called childlike because of
this size difference. The thought was also presented that if women were educated

Children are constantly changing and developing. For middle childhood aged children their
bodies change and their sensory development skills improve. Between the ages of 6 and 8 girls
are typically taller than boys until around the age of 9 when this reverses. Both genders gain
weight each year as the grow. However, this is a general statistic that not everyone follows. I
have always been short and continued to be short throughout my pre adolescent years. During
this stage pre adolescents hearing enhances, while vision can worsen and they might need
glasses. This stage in life is considered to be the healthiest, due to the energy they possess. The
gross motor skills develop more and improvements are made in balance. Reaction time is faster
and agility strengthens. The pre adolescent body is more pliable and elastic. Going through this
stage allows pre adolescents to engage in sports and athletic activity. During this stage in my life
I played several different sports. I was a cheerleader, softball player, and soccer player. I had
been playing soccer from a young age, but when I was 9 I played on a better team and became
more involved in other sports. I enjoyed playing the different sports because I was getting better at
the skills every season. I had gains in the ability to understand the roles of several players in a
game, perspective taking, and understand the value of teamwork. As an adolescent I started going

Pros And Cons Of Flat Tax
Is flat tax beneficial for the society?
Flat tax may bring about a transformation to the society.
Pros:
It is fairly simple easy to understand and comply with, thereby reducing errors and tax fraud It
promotes sustainable development
Key advocates of the flat tax rate believe that people can be encouraged to work harder to earn
one`s fortune because they won t be afraid of a larger tax penalty for a bigger income. In addition,
more businesses will be more willing to invest. This may bolster progress in more stable economic
growth and higher overall tax revenue.
Cons:
It favors the wealthy.
Those who are earning bigger income can enjoy paying less tax, so they end up with more money,
further widening the gap between the rich and the poor.

Minimum wages may raise the challenge of inequality. Why it is so?
The minimum wage is not related to job cuts.
I will provide a case in point.
According to the study of fast food restaurants by David Card and Alan Krueger in 1992 after
increasing the minimum wage, employment in restaurants also increased. Thus raising the
minimum wage did not reduce employment.
The minimum wage leads to an increase in the standard of living. According to the International
Labor Organization, the existence of the minimum wage in the country provide an incentive for
getting a job, rather than live on unemployment benefits. If the state introduces a minimum wage,
then there is a narrowing of the gap between the rich and the poor.
Minimum wages do not raise the challenge of inequality. Why it is so?
The minimum wage leads to unemployment.
According to the Economist, the introduction or increase of the minimum wage results in
companies being forced either to reduce investments in the development of employees or to fire
them. The growing number of unemployed people certainly can not lead to a narrowing of the gap

Handmaids Tale
How is Gilead presented as a place of power and control in the opening chapters of The
Handmaid s Tale? The Republic of Gilead is the fictional country which Margaret Atwood chose
as the setting for her dystopian novel, The Handmaid s Tale. We can infer from the first chapter
that Gilead is within the borders of the USA from the fact that old blankets still said US: this
hints that some sort of major catastrophe has occurred before the time of the novel to change this.
The first few chapters suggest a lot about the setting, and also how the transition of the country

The different uniforms worn within Gilead are another example of the state using the power
they have to control their citizens. All women in the Republic are defined by the colour of their
uniforms. These uniforms remove all individuality from particularly the submissive women, as
well as camouflaging all signs of shape and figure. Gilead sees women s sexuality as dangerous,
which is why the uniforms they have prescribed are so concealing and unflattering. When Offred
walks by the young Guardians, she moves her hips when she senses them watching her, and then
states her hope that they get hard as a result of her doing this. This shows how she feels that her
ability to inspire sexual attraction, despite her uniform is the only power she herself retains.
Fear is obviously used in Gilead as the main form of control, made clear by the fact that there are
men with machine guns in the pillboxes on either side of road this indicates how strict the rules
within the country are, and how severe the consequences are if you break them. The Guardians
sexual desire is controlled by the idea of the floodlights going on, the rifle shots which illustrates
the extent of the power the state has over them they have not yet earned the right to a women,
therefore would be totally sex starved as masturbation is a sin and porn is forbidden. The only

Narrative Essay On A Winter Night
On a cold Winter night two people lay to sleep. So far away but that would never stop the dreaming
and magic.
December 1,2003 Concord,Massachusetts Anna:
It s nighttime in Concord. I began to grow tired as the time progresses to 10:30 pm. I go up the
stairs leading to my room not knowing what is to come in this night slumber. I can only imagine
what I might dream. As I lay on my soft bedding cuddling up to my warm fuzzy blanket I began
to doze off. Just before I finally fall asleep I hear the train blow its whistle down the road from my
house.
Dream Land: Where everyone s dreams come together. You tend to see people wandering around
aimlessly. In my dream I m jumping around from cloud to cloud tasting the water from them as I
jump. Flying in between. I continue for a few more minutes. I get tired from jumping so I decided
to fall from the clouds. I jumped from the clouds so that I could watch the twinkling stars. As I jump
and fall I m then greeted with a hard landing. I look to see what I landed on and it just so happened
to be a boy. I jump up surprised that I didn t squish him from how far I fell. I m sorry I didn t mean
to land on you, I said.
It s alright, it didn t hurt too much it just took me by surprise, the mysteries boy said.

Transformational Vs Servant Leadership Case Study
Summary of Article
Journal 2
Title: Transformational versus servant leadership: a difference in leader focus
Author: A. Gregory Stone, Robert F. Russell and Kathleen Patterson
The main content in the article is to compare and contrast both similarities and differences of
transformational leadership and servant leadership. Transformational leadership was introduced
by James MacGregor Burns (1987) and Bernard M. Bass (1985a) while servant leadership was
developed by Robert Greenleaf (1997). Both leadership concepts are frequently applied or adopted
by the researches and people who engage in the industry.
In order to increase subordinate performance, leader who apply transformational leadership is
engage in building commitment to organisation objectives and giving authority to his/her followers
to achieve the defined objectives (Yukl, 1998). Transactional leadership is the other extreme of
transformational leadership due to its lesser democratic authority given to followers, concern on
task fulfilment and monitor performance ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In contrast, results showed a negative relationship between transactional leadership and job
satisfaction. Research carried out in Journal 2 showed an extensive study on servant leadership
by comparing with others leadership concepts. Results of Farling et al. (1999) discovered that
servant leadership depend on a spiritual base to obtain their sources of values. Study of Horsman
(2001) perceived servant leadership as the prominent leadership model and recognized an
association between servant leadership and the personal features of spirit. Outcomes of both
researches conducted by James Laub (1999) and Rusell (2000, 2001) revealed that further
empirical research should be conducted to prove the validity or accuracy of the relation between
personal values and characteristic of servant leadership

A URL (Uniform Resource Locator, previously Universal Resource Locator) is the unique address
for a file that is accessible on the Internet. Such a file might be any Web (HTML) page, an image

to get to a web site is to enter the URL of its home page file in web browser s address line.
However, any file within that web site can also be specified with a unique URL. So the web

E.g. www.google.com. A server provides services in the name of the host, but hosts and servers

a.www (World Wide Web

b.Domain name / Resource Owner The registered domain name comes here.

  • 2. Fair Trade Ethnoscapes Fair Trade has been a buzz word in the world lately with the movement towards human rights. It s important to note that technoscapes and ethnoscapes have played big factors in this movement and spread of ethical goods. Global consumption of coffee in the past two years has been lead in this order from Europe, Asia and Oceania, North America, South America, Africa, and Central America and Mexico ( TradeStatistics Table , 2017). A big reason why fair tradehas spread globally is because of ethnoscapes, the movement of culture and people across borders. When people travel to different areas in the coffee belt, they used to see the abuse of human labor, poor working conditions, child workers, and that these farmers were not able to make much money... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Along with the second biggest part of the equation are the consumers of the products, not only the countries that import the goods. In the last six months, the European Union fluctuated, but did not falter being the leading importer of coffee with 9,994 units in july 2017, 10,439 units in September 2017, and 9,509 units in December of 2017. The United States imported 2,453 units in July 2017, 2,255 units in September 2017, and 2,328 units in December 2017. Japan imported 580 units in July 2017, 607 units in September 2017, and 460 units in December 2017. The Russian Federation imported 476 units in July 2017, 446 units in September 2017, and 467 units in December 2017. All units in thousand 60 kilogram bags ( Trade Statistics Table ). Within the European Union is the biggest coffee market as well as the oldest coffee market, which are the United Kingdom and the Netherlands. Both countries fair trade sales increased by 24% in 2011 and continue to increase as more producers become Fair Trade certified (Ladhari,2015). The United States fair trade sales increased by 12% in that same year. While these statistics were acquired, it was also noted about the consumer s purchasing trends compared to their personal values. According to Pelsmaker, consumers ideal purchasing trends are not completely reflective of their actual buying behavior (Pelsmacker, 2005). Therefore, the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Analysis Of The Song Diplo-Revolution A Revolution The moments that matter are the ones that you will remember and cherish for the rest of your life and the song Diplo Revolution (absence remix) is a song that can ignite those moments. This song can be classified in the dubstep genre but because the original song is considered to be EDM (Electric Dance Music) it is mixed up between the two genres. Kai (Alessia De Gasperis Brigante) is the song writer and vocalist. She describes a value that she wants people to hear through her lyrics. Kai was introduced to EDM by writing and singing for a very popular DJ named Diplo(Thomas Pentz). Kai stimulates feelings and emotion in the song Diplo Revolution, she gives a different approach to EDM listeners, and she rises to become a more... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... EDM is not a genre that people hear or talk about on a daily basis but given the information above you know a little bit more about this type of music. Not all EDM is considered to be about sex, drugs, and alcohol actually in most circumstances there are EDM songs that have no meaning at all. This particular song makes people think about what they are listening to instead of just listening to the melody of the music. The song Diplo Revolution (absence remix) has ignited a very special moment in my life and these memories have the potential to last as long as I ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. Augustine Research Paper Many great classical thinkers had a profound influence on later great thinkers. Plato and Aristotle are just two examples that come to mind out of many. It would be interesting to ponder the possibility as to whether or not the thought of later times would have the same ground that it has if it were not for these great thinkers that came before. In the early period of Christianity, the influence of Plato s philosophical criticisms of art can be seen in effect in Augustine s view of the imagination as profane. One can question as to whether Augustine s view of original sin would have been so negative if he had not imbibed the Platonic conception of the Fall of the soul. The combination of Biblical and Hellenic elements made Christian philosophy, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Alfarabi is probably the least important of these, he is primarily significant because he was a pioneer in the invocation of Aristotle as a philosophical authority (essentially paving the way for the Golden Age of Muslim Aristotelianism). He is said to have believed in the unity of the thought of Plato and Aristotle. Also, his work shows a confluence of their theories. An example of this is his claim that God is simultaneously identical with the neo Platonic One and with Aristotle s Self Thinking Thought . When we look at Avicenna however, we find the development of a Muslim philosophy more independent of theological constraints as well as an Aristotelianism less apologetic to supposed Platonic doctrine (philosopheruk). With this being said, Avicenna rejects the conception of a divine creation of the world in time and follows Aristotle in considering the primary aim of philosophy to be the study of being qua being. Algazali demonstrated a critical backlash against the Aristotelianism of Avicenna, within the Islamic tradition. In his work The Incoherence of the Philosophers , he attacks the inconsistency of the philosophical positions of Alfarabi and Avicenna with orthodox Koranic interpretation (philosopheruk). This work is significant philosophically because it does not rule out the possibility of philosophy de jure, but rather points to the misuse of philosophy by both of his predecessors. In other words, he was concerned with the philosophical ideas of the eternity of the world and the rejection of bodily resurrection, ideas which he regarded not simply as theologically heterodox but as the result of a misapplication of Aristotelian logical ... • 5. John Adams And George Washington Essay John Adams and George Washington were two instrumental leaders during the American Revolution. Both men were quintessential to the success of the revolution in their own way. John Adams pushed the revolutionary agenda and George Washington lead the continental army. The methods for which they led our nation to success varied due to their differing leadership styles. In consequence, George Washingtonhas gone down in History as a larger than life hero whereas John Adams has nearly been forgotten. Though both Adams and Washington rose to become influential figures during the revolution, their origins differed. Adams was born into a middle class farming family in Massachusetts. His father was a farmer/deacon who decided John should go to university and learns a noble trade. John received a formal education from Harvard and went into the admirable profession of the Law. On the other hand, George Washington, although born into a respected aristocratic Virginian family, did not receive a proper formal education because his father died before Washington was of age to study in England, as was planned. Nonetheless Washington gained knowledge from experience and observing those around him. The personal connections Washington had resulted in many job opportunities for him. Though his education was cut short by his father s death, he still had many important mentors such as Colonial Fairfax who granted Washington with opportunity. Due to whom he knew, Washington was able to collect ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 6. Characteristics Of A Dyad Relationships The characteristics and dynamics of a group is specific and changes in correlation with the size of a group. A group is more than one person that unite to meet similar goals and needs. Georg Simmel, a German sociologist, refers to a group of two individuals as a dyad, and a group of three people as a triad. (Kendall 144). For instance, a married couple is a dyad group, and as the dyad relationship evolves the group shifts to a triad when a child is born. As the group size increases or decreases the dynamics, characteristics, and relationships change, accordingly. Two individuals uniting as a married couple, a dyad, are associated with similar characteristics and dynamics. While one married couple may have different goals or needs when compared to another married couple, the overall characteristics are shared among majority of married couples. Individuals unite with another individual because they share similar needs and goals in life. As an example, an individual whom desires a life of marriage, a successful career, the purchasing of a home, and a goal to build a family. Upon meeting another individual with these similar goals in life may decide to tie the knot to form a dyad group. These two individuals carry on life working together as a team to support one another and successfully fulfill these similar goals in life. A dyad is an intense bond, and acquires unification between the two individuals. (Kendall 144). It is essential that both individuals continue to work ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 7. Influence Of Multichannel Selling Strategies Towards... Title Influence of Multichannel Selling Strategies Towards Consumer Buying Behaviour Introduction The research dissertation that is proposed throughout this paper brings an indication towards the topic of multichannel enhancement. The topic has seen a major shift in how consumers are using the multichannel environment to purchase more and more than ever before (Jones, 2013). The retail environment has evolved with this consumer shift, in becoming more dynamic towards the customer s needs and creating a more customised channel (Whitler, 2016). A personal interest comes towards this topic from my involvement in retail over the past five years, experiencing this retail evolvement first hand. Literature Review The developed definition of the use of multichannel in the retail market has been branded towards the opening of multiple channels to communicate towards the customer (Zhang et al., 2010). The importance of multichannel selling strategies has significantly grown with the rise of new business channels emerging into the market (StojkoviД‡ et al., 2016). In view of this growth, a dominant approach of retailers combining classical (store) channels and electronic (website) channels has shown extensive successes for most of the world s leading retailers (StojkoviД‡ et al., 2016). In addition to this potential success for the retailer, the benefits can also be passed onto the customer, which will be discussed, then simply using the selling strategy to communicate with the ... • 8. Giving In To Kill A Mockingbird The definition of giving is to present voluntarily and without expecting compensation; bestow. There is something powerful in giving, and there is something powerful in receiving. We can t have giving without receiving. We can t have receiving without giving. They both require each other. But giving has a different meaning than others would expect. Givingis something you do for someone you admire or care about. It s showing that person how much they mean to you. It doesn t matter if you give lots or little. What matters most is the thought. In the book To Kill a Mockingbird, Boo Radley is stereotyped as a monster, a beast, and a freak. People said he ate dead animals, his teeth were yellow, his eyes popped, and he drooled all the time.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... She goes from being an innocent and naГЇve little girl, to being a strong and brave young lady. She begins by showing a greater depth of understanding about other townspeople. Towards the end she loses much of her innocence due mostly to the trial of Tom Robinson. She witnessed and learned so much from it and it helped her tremendously. She understands more about life and people. The biggest thing she saw and learned was how cruel people can be when they are racist and bigots. Throughout the course of tbe book she also learned about other peoples thoughts and feelings. She finds this out by seeing how nice of a man Boo Radley is at the end of the novel. At the very end of the book when Scout says of Boo Radley: ... neighbors give in return. We never put back into the tree what we took out of it: we had given him nothing, and it made me sad it made me realize that this was the immature Scout coming out of her. She was finally able to put herself into other peoples shoes and think about their feelings, but she wasn t putting that to use now. In her mind, she felt bad about it and thought they didn t give him anything in return. But in all reality, they did give him the things I mentioned earlier. This comment definitely comes from the child Scout narrator. A child would think that Boo received no material objects from the Finches, but an older and more mature person would realize that Boo received new friends and the joy and pleasure of helping someone who needed it. Scout also doesn t realize how much this would help Boo in the future. As a child, Scout would feel so bad, but as an adult, Scout feels so helpful. • 9. Research Paper Research Paper Inclusive education means that all students in a school, regardless of their strengths or weaknesses in any area, become part of the school community. They are included in the feeling of belonging among other students, teachers, and support staff. The educational practice known as, full inclusion may have negative effects on the self esteem of a special needs child. In 1975, Congress passed the Education for All Handicapped Children Act, also known as Public Law94 142. Before this law came into effect many children with disabilities were routinely excluded from public schools. Their options were to remain at home or be institutionalized. This law was an important landmark in education and because of this law, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Integration presumes that segregation exists and students are with their peers without disabilities part time. The CSIE did many studies and found that inclusion is more effective than either integration or mainstreaming. Ferguson s (1992) project to achieve both social and learning outcomes for students in general education classrooms resulted in the finding that integration doesn t work, but inclusion does. In 1997 President Clinton signed into law the Individuals With Disabilities Education Act. This law aims to strengthen academic expectations and accountability for the millions of children with disabilities. This law makes it clear that schools have a duty to educate children with disabilities in general education classrooms. With this law in effect the CSIE began to really push the inclusion movement in schools. When inclusion was proposed, educators primary concern was how learning disabled students would benefit academically. Academic concern is important; studies on the success of inclusion have determined that there are social issues that need more attention. A study on inclusion conducted by (B. Dixon) in New Hampshire found that Even when students were first included in regular classes, teams did not focus on the students peer relations unless parents pushed the issue or students ... Renzo Piano is a well known architect, best known for his phantasmagoric architectural masterpiece, the Shard in London that constitutes a major landmark in О± big city like London. Designed in 2000, it is the tallest building in the United Kingdom, while being for a while Europe s tallest tower. It lost its title to the Mercury City Tower in Moscow in 2012 which is Europe s tallest building. As Renzo Piano said I don t believe it is possible to build a tall building in London by extruding the same shape from bottom to top. It would be too small at the bottom and too big at the top. Likewise, symbols are dangerous. Often tall buildings are aggressive and arrogant symbols of power and ego, selfish and hermetic. The tower is designed to be ... Southwark Council was an important supporter of the skyscraper, which had been administered planning permission at the end of March 2002. Nevertheless, the works for the Shard almost ceased because of the fall of the Twin World Trade Towers, in New York. According to Mr. Sellar the Shard will have refuges built into its core . Furthermore, when plans for the Shard of Glass were first considered, environmentalists labeled the Shard as a spike through the heart of the heritage of London. Oppositions arose after the plans for the Shard passed through the Council and conservation groups expressed their concerns about the changing skyline of London and that the skyscraper would shadow over the Cathedral of St. Paul, the Tower of London. Renzo Piano stated that St. Paul Cathedral is an extraordinary monument and an intrinsic part of London s heritage. I believe that the new tower will not disturb its stateliness. They are breathing the same air, sharing the same atmosphere; they are nurtured at the same source. . It should be mentioned that St Paul s Cathedral, which for hundreds of year was the tallest structure, and even today is protected by laws which protect the sight lines to the cathedral, is a monument to the glory of God, symbol of hope, strength and resilience of the city of London. A fixed exchange rate or pegged exchange rate is where a currency value is fixed against the value of another currency, in the example of China, the Yuan or Renminbi it is currently pegged to the US dollar, it has been fixed to the US since 1994 however within the past decade it has been allowed to appreciate a little at a time. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... China is able to persuade foreign manufacturing to their coasts as the cost is so low. For example, as the dollar is stronger than the Yuan this would means that a T shirt can cost a company five times more to produce and manufacture in the US as compared to China. This has led international companies to seek the cheap labour costs moving their manufacturing process to China, well known brands such as: Harley Davison. Apple, Ikea and The Body Shop all own or have contract factories within China. These huge global companies were obviously provoked to move manufacturing to China because of the the low costs, therefore more profit for them, this was all caused by China having in place the fixed exchange rate. Consequently, it would seem that having the fixed exchange rate massively benefitted China. Throughout the past decade, China has become a Manufacturing Powerhouse (Eloot, 2013), low salaries plus a strong supply base, makes an equation for ideal platform for exports, which china defiantly benefited from. Originating in the 1900 s, a secret organisation called the Society of the Righteous and Harmonious Fists, began carrying out attacks on Chinese Christians and foreigners. They became known in the West as the boxers , for their martial arts fighting style. What caused the Boxer Rebellion? There were three main causes. The first cause for the Boxer Rebellion, was the anti foreign stance in China. As a result of suffering humiliating defeats in both the first, and second Opium wars, China was forced to grant concessions to foreigners. Furthermore, they had to sign the unequal treaties which allowed the West to gain a significant amount of control over China. This left the Chinese population poverty stricken, and angry at foreign powers. The economy became disrupted by the arrival of modernity and industrialism. According to historian David Silbey Many Chinese worked in industries that were disrupted by the arrival of the railroad and the telegraph. There was a sense that China s balance had been thrown out of whack by these modern innovations, and only by destroying the innovations and the foreigners who brought them could the balance be restored. . This is ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Since E O insurance is important to carry when running a business most professions have this type of insurance to cover a potential lawsuit that would otherwise cause them to file for bankruptcy. It may come as a surprise that some states do not require businesses to have E O insurance, but a large portion of contracts with clients required insurance for the contract to be in effect. Having an E O insurance policy may sometimes be a selling point for potential clients. When a client sees that a business has this type of insurance it gives them peace of mind knowing that if there happens to be any error or omission throughout the process they will be compensated. The same applies to the actual company. It makes it easier to accept new clients and cases knowing that in case of any alleged misunderstanding or disputes, the policy would bring in protection and coverage. According to techinsurance.com about 70% of businesses raise prices or cut hiring when sued and yet, $35 billion = annual out of pocket cost of lawsuits for small businesses. Before getting into pricing, perhaps we should take a look at the overall market around the E O, including how companies are hedging themselves against the possibility of a lawsuit. • 25. Character Analysis Of Mr. Wills Will J. The Taste of Melon: Mr. Wills Character Analysis Nov. 17 2017 In The Taste of Melon by Borden Deal, the character of Mr. Wills is written as a round/complex character. Mr. Wills exhibits three main traits throughout the story, and those traits do not change. First is his success as a farmer, second is his emotional personality, and third is his intimidating and frightening demeanor and reputation. While it may be easy to say that Mr. Wills is a dynamic character, his core traits never changeat any point in the plot. Only the way he is perceived by other characters changes. The first main character trait of Mr. Wills is his success as a farmer. During the exposition of the plot as the narrator is introducing all of its characters, he says Mr. Wills was the best farmer in the community. (Deal, 131) as if it was common knowledge. The narrator s father chimes in when he says ...that he could drive a stick into the ground and grow a tree out of it. (Deal, 131) Mr. Wills appears to show his technical proficiency in farming best when he is growing watermelons. As the narrator put it; Other men, like Mr. Wills, can throw some seed on the ground, scuff some dirt over it, walk off and leave it. And they ll have a crop of the prettiest, biggest melons you ever saw. (Deal, 131) This trait did not change during the story; never was it revealed that Mr. Wills was putting fake watermelons in his patch, or that he was importing prize melon seeds. From what is shown in the story Mr. Wills is just a talented man. The second main character trait of Mr. Wills are his volatile emotions. Beside the obvious examples of him simply showing anger, such as When he plowed his fields you could hear him yelling for a mile. (Deal, Pg. 131) There is also the example of him performing actions out of anger and then regretting them later. Then I saw it, he was destroying every melon in the patch! (Deal, Pg. 137), and You ruined the half of it, and I ruined the other. (Deal, Pg. 140) These quotes show that Mr. Wills has a tendency to act brashly and then regret it. This is a trait that does not change through the story, instead it is fully revealed near the end during the resolution of the plot ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Contritely, Carton is a lower classman obligated to work for an aristocrat, yet Darnay is an aristocrat reduced to work as an underclassman. The Vietnam War incited mass protests, the Civil Rights Movement sought equality for African Americans, and the women s liberation movement gained momentum. Entertainment stepped into the new level with the monumental super stars such as Elis Presley led the emergence of Rock and Roll, Marilyn Monroe was a reigning film star, and television replaced radio as the dominant media outlet. Yet by the late 1950s and early 1960s, a cultural revolution was underway, led by activists, thinkers, and artists who sought to rethink and even overturn what was, in their eyes, a stifling social order ruled by conformity. Following the transformation to popular of the world, the new art movement had occurred, Pop Art. Pop artists began to look for inspiration in the world around them, representing and, at times, making art directly from everyday items, consumer goods, and mass media. When it emerged in the 1960s, Pop art was not just about bold colors and celebrity culture; it brought the popular world from cartoons and advertising to apples and bananas into the realm of high art, turning taste on its head in the process. It was in this climate of turbulence, experimentation, and consumerism that a new generation of artists emerged in Britain and America in the mid to late 1950s. Repentance Of Sinners In The Parable Of The Lost Sheep How is Luke s claim on repentance of sinners in the Parable of the Lost Sheep being illustrated by the differences in detail found, in comparison to the Gospels of Matthew and Thomas? The Parable of the Lost Sheep is one of the many parables Jesus gave during his lifetime. It is found in the two canonical gospels: Matthew 18:10 14 and Luke 15:3 10. It is also found in the non canonical gospel of Thomas 107. It is about a shepherd who leaves his flock of ninety nine sheep behind to go look for the one sheep that is lost. This context is similar in all of the three Gospels. However, although there are similarities, there are also differences. These differences have an implication for the message grasped by the readers. The focus will be on the repentance of sinners claimed in the Gospel of Luke and how it differs from the messages found in the other two Gospels. I will do this by analyzing the effect of the differences in language, symbolic representation, location of the parable, audience, and the context in which it is written, found in these three Gospels. In terms of symbolic presentation, Luke uses the word sinners to compare them to the sheep as seen in verse 7, ...one sinner who repents... Jesus is giving a reason why he is friends of tax collectors and sinners. This is because they are like the sheep, lost and need saving through repentance. His works, talents, and achievements made him to that kind of praise. He is one of our great heroes. He showed his countrymen that they could be something less than merely brown Spaniards. That they could be Filipinos, a people sharing common roots in a common land. He expressed the growing national consciousness of many Filipinos who opposed Spanish colonial tyranny and aspired to attain democratic rights. He fought for our unity and for the freedom of our country through his pen and writings, not by fighting violently. He brought with him a burning idealism which we very much hope to see being rekindled today. The Bangsamoro people or the Moros simply do not want to be united with the Philippines. However, this is a general statistic that not everyone follows. I have always been short and continued to be short throughout my pre adolescent years. During this stage pre adolescents hearing enhances, while vision can worsen and they might need glasses. This stage in life is considered to be the healthiest, due to the energy they possess. The gross motor skills develop more and improvements are made in balance. Reaction time is faster and agility strengthens. The pre adolescent body is more pliable and elastic. Going through this stage allows pre adolescents to engage in sports and athletic activity. During this stage in my life I played several different sports. I was a cheerleader, softball player, and soccer player. I had been playing soccer from a young age, but when I was 9 I played on a better team and became more involved in other sports. I enjoyed playing the different sports because I was getting better at the skills every season. I had gains in the ability to understand the roles of several players in a game, perspective taking, and understand the value of teamwork. As an adolescent I started going through puberty as an early maturing girl. My puberty ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The minimum wage is not related to job cuts. I will provide a case in point. According to the study of fast food restaurants by David Card and Alan Krueger in 1992 after increasing the minimum wage, employment in restaurants also increased. Thus raising the minimum wage did not reduce employment. The minimum wage leads to an increase in the standard of living. According to the International Labor Organization, the existence of the minimum wage in the country provide an incentive for getting a job, rather than live on unemployment benefits. If the state introduces a minimum wage, then there is a narrowing of the gap between the rich and the poor. Minimum wages do not raise the challenge of inequality. Why it is so? The minimum wage leads to unemployment. According to the Economist, the introduction or increase of the minimum wage results in companies being forced either to reduce investments in the development of employees or to fire them. The growing number of unemployed people certainly can not lead to a narrowing of the gap between the rich and the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 49. Handmaids Tale How is Gilead presented as a place of power and control in the opening chapters of The Handmaid s Tale? The Republic of Gilead is the fictional country which Margaret Atwood chose as the setting for her dystopian novel, The Handmaid s Tale. We can infer from the first chapter that Gilead is within the borders of the USA from the fact that old blankets still said US: this hints that some sort of major catastrophe has occurred before the time of the novel to change this. The first few chapters suggest a lot about the setting, and also how the transition of the country from being the United States of America to the Republic of Gilead may not have been a particularly positive one. The novel of The Handmaid s Tale is based on the... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The different uniforms worn within Gilead are another example of the state using the power they have to control their citizens. All women in the Republic are defined by the colour of their uniforms. These uniforms remove all individuality from particularly the submissive women, as well as camouflaging all signs of shape and figure. Gilead sees women s sexuality as dangerous, which is why the uniforms they have prescribed are so concealing and unflattering. When Offred walks by the young Guardians, she moves her hips when she senses them watching her, and then states her hope that they get hard as a result of her doing this. This shows how she feels that her ability to inspire sexual attraction, despite her uniform is the only power she herself retains. Fear is obviously used in Gilead as the main form of control, made clear by the fact that there are men with machine guns in the pillboxes on either side of road this indicates how strict the rules within the country are, and how severe the consequences are if you break them. The Guardians sexual desire is controlled by the idea of the floodlights going on, the rifle shots which illustrates the extent of the power the state has over them they have not yet earned the right to a women, therefore would be totally sex starved as masturbation is a sin and porn is forbidden. The only hope for them of this changing is if they were promoted to Angel ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 50. Narrative Essay On A Winter Night On a cold Winter night two people lay to sleep. So far away but that would never stop the dreaming and magic. December 1,2003 Concord,Massachusetts Anna: It s nighttime in Concord. I began to grow tired as the time progresses to 10:30 pm. I go up the stairs leading to my room not knowing what is to come in this night slumber. I can only imagine what I might dream. As I lay on my soft bedding cuddling up to my warm fuzzy blanket I began to doze off. Just before I finally fall asleep I hear the train blow its whistle down the road from my house. Dream Land: Where everyone s dreams come together. You tend to see people wandering around aimlessly. In my dream I m jumping around from cloud to cloud tasting the water from them as I jump. Flying in between. I continue for a few more minutes. I get tired from jumping so I decided to fall from the clouds. I jumped from the clouds so that I could watch the twinkling stars. As I jump and fall I m then greeted with a hard landing. I look to see what I landed on and it just so happened to be a boy. I jump up surprised that I didn t squish him from how far I fell. I m sorry I didn t mean to land on you, I said. It s alright, it didn t hurt too much it just took me by surprise, the mysteries boy said. Such a file might be any Web (HTML) page, an image file, or a program such as a common gateway interface application or Java applet.
