General Objective
To be able to make predictions about issues
such as weather, sports, activities, professions
and places by using the future tenses “will” and
“be going to”.
Grammar and Vocabulary
• The use of the structures “will + infinitive” and “be + going
to” to talk about the future as well as make future predictions.
Examples: They are going to win their match today!, Milton's
doctor isn't going to be happy when he sees that terrible
sunburn!. John is going to pass the exam.
•Alejandro is saving money, probably he will be visiting Miami
in two months.
Vocabulary: weather, sports, activities, professions and
places.
Communicative competence
Since students need to explore and experiment,
this section will promote students language
learning through giving information but also a lot
of opportunities to learn and practice such as
games, tasks, tests, videos, audios and so on.
Besides, All this section content will integrate the
four language skills: listening, speaking, reading
and writing.
Sociolinguistic competence: Students are going to
use an informal register when predicting
situations.
• Linguistic competence (Grammatical): students are
going to learn about how to use simple structures to
make predictions (will and be going to).
• Pragmatic competence (Narrative function): since
students are going to make predictions they are going
to use the narrative function from the communicative
competence.
- Discourse competence (Syntax): students will be
able to arrange sentences in sequence and coherence.

• Fortune teller, webquest, flashcards, games, quizzes,
books, comics, audios and videos.
