 Future “Will”:
Use the future with will to talk about an event
in the future that you have just decided to do,
for predictions and for promises.
 This is the structure to write sentences:
Subject + will + verb
 They will come to the party.
When we want to talk about future facts
or things we believe to be true about
the future, we use 'will'.
 The President will serve for four years.
 The boss won't be very happy.
 I'm sure you'll like her.
Examples:
Affirmative:
 I will go to New York
Subject + will + verb
Negative :
 I won't go to New York
Subject + will + not (won't)+verb
Interrogative:
 Will I go to New York ?

Functions and examples “will”
1. We use 'will' to give or ask for information or facts about the
future.
Her parents will be here in about an hour.
All her friends will come to her wedding.
2. We use 'will' for plans or decisions made at the time
of speaking.
A: "We need some paper for the
photocopier."
B: "Okay, I will go and get some."
3. We use 'will' to predict the future.
I think it will rain tomorrow.
Do you think Brazil will win
the World Cup?
4. We use 'will' to predict the present.
Don't phone her now,
she'll be busy.
5. We use 'will' to offer to do something.
I will take you to the airport tomorrow.
That suitcase looks heavy,
I will carry it for you.
6. We use 'will' to agree to do
something.
Okay, I will come with you.
 The future with 'going to' is used to express
events you have already planned in the future
and your intentions for the future.
 We sometimes also use the present
continuous for planned events in the near
future.
to be (am, are, is) + going to + infinitive
Going is used:
 1) to express a future decision,
intention, or plan made before
the moment of speaking.
 She is going to have a party next week.
 2) when we can see or feel now that something
is certain to happen in the future.
 Watch out! That box is going to fall.

Affirmative
You are going to meet Jane tonight.
Interrogative
Are you going to meet Jane tonight?
Negative
You are not going to meet Jane tonight.

B: I think it is going to rain.
