understands, to a high level of

FEATURE
S
47. What do you think is the
difference between a Synopsis
and Summary?
48. SYNOPSIS SUMMARY
● Carries the gist of a work of
prose without presenting the
viewpoint of the writer of the
synopsis.
● Deliberately gives away the
entire movie's main points
including the ending.
● Rewriting a work of prose to
make it short and condensed.
● Includes your opinions and
reflections about the work.
● Used to generate interest
among an audience that
might be interested in reading
the book or seeing the movie.
49. Think of it this way: a summary helps somebody decide whether
they want to spend $10 to see a movie or $20 to buy a book. On the
other hand, a synopsis is essentially telling investors, "The millions
of dollars that you're willing to invest would be totally worth it."
50.

A pilot crashes in the desert and he meets a little prince from
another planet. The prince has traveled from planet to planet, meeting
adults who value things like authority, ownership, and praise. On
Earth, the prince met a fox who explained the value of friendship. The
prince returns to his own tiny planet to care for his special rose. The
pilot is deeply impacted by their meeting and writes about it six years
later.
