This document provides a synopsis for implementing Single Carrier Frequency Division Multiple Access (SC-FDMA) and Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiple Access (OFDMA) in MATLAB. The objectives are to implement the physical layer of Long Term Evolution (LTE) using SC-FDMA and OFDMA and investigate efficiency in terms of peak-to-average power ratio and bit error rate. SC-FDMA is used for uplink and OFDMA is used for downlink in LTE. Simulation results from implementing the techniques in MATLAB will evaluate efficiency based on modulation order, bit error rate, and signal-to-noise ratio. This paper describes the development of optimized model for urban outdoor coverage in Long Term Evolution (LTE) network at 2300 MHz frequency band in Port Harcourt urban region, Nigeria. Signal attenuation and fluctuation remain amongst the major channel impairments for mobile radio communication systems. This arises as a result of model incompatibility with terrain and Line of Sight (LOS) obstruction of the channel signals. Some path loss models such as OkumuraHata, COST 231, Ericsson 999, Egli and ECC-33 models were evaluated for suitability and compared with the modified model for the environments. The models were based on data collected from LTE base stations at three geographical locations in Port Harcourt namely- Rumuokoro, Eneka and Ikwerre roads respectively. The simulation was implemented using MATLAB R2014a software. The modified model was further optimized with some selected parameters such as Root Mean Square Error (RMSE) and Mean Absolute Error (MAE) using Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO) technique. The results obtained gave rise to 3.030dB for RMSE and 0.00162dB for MAE respectively. The results obtained from the PSO optimized model demonstrated a better performance which is suitable for cell coverage planning and smooth handoff processes.
Performance evaluation of VLC system using new modulation approachjournalBEEI
We propose a modified OFDM modulation based on multiband scheme for visible light communications (VLC) system. The method called catenated-OFDM VLC system can efficiently boost the propagation distance and combat multipath induced the inter symbol interference and inter carrier interference. Design parameters such as number of optical bands, input power, distance and data rate are varied to see their effect on the system performances. Simulation analysis is done using Optisys software Ver. 11.0. The results show that the proposed system offers a good performance at longer transmission distance of 12 m for input power of 2 dBm in case of Band=3 with 10 Gbps data rate. BER curves also indicates that the proposed system can be operated at very high data rate of 15 Gbps. This exhibits the ability of the proposed system to be one of the candidate for future optical wireless communication system.

The growing interest towards wireless communication advancement with smart devices has provided the desired throughput of wireless communication mechanisms. But, attaining high-speed data packets amenities is the biggest issue in different multimedia applications. Recently, OFDM has come up with the useful features for wireless communication however it faces interference issues at carrier level (intercarrier interferences). To resolve these interference issues in OFDM, various existing mechanisms were utilized cyclic prefix, but it leads to redundancy in transmitted data. Also, the transmission of this redundant data can take some more power and bandwidth. All these limitations factors can be removed from a parallel cancellation mechanism. The integration of parallel cancellation and Convolution Viterbi encoding and decoding in MIMOOFDMA will be an effective solution to have high data rate which also associations with the benefits of both the architectures of MIMO and OFDMA modulation approaches. This paper deals with this integrated mechanism for efficient resource allocation and power consumption. For performance analysis, MIMO-OFDMA system is analyzed with three different approaches likeMIMO-OFDM system without parallel cancellation (MIMO-OFDMA-WPC), MIMO-OFDMA System with parallel cancellation (MIMO-OFDMA-PC) and proposed IMO-OFDMA system with parallel cancellation and Convolution Viterbi encoding/decoding (pMIMO-OFDMAPC &CVed) for 4x4 transmitter and receiver. Through performance analysis, it is found that the proposed system achieved better resource allocation (bandwidth) with high data rate by minimized BER rate and achieved least power consumption with least BER.

Performance Analysis of Antenna Selection Techniques in MIMO-OFDM System with...IJECEIAES
In this paper we propose a new MIMO-OFDM model in which we consider various antenna selection techniques like Bulk selection and Per-subcarrier selection etc. with hardware impairments such as non-linearties of amplifiers, quantization noise, phase noise and I-Q imbalance etc. As we know that the transceiver hardware impairments limit the channel capacity and the energy efficiency of MIMO-OFDM system, so we can not neglect the fundamental impacts of these hardware impairments {Kappa (0.05 0.1)} on the energy efficiency in the high SNR domain. Therefore we analyze the Energy Efficiency of Bulk and Per-subcarrier antenna selection techniques with or without hardware impairments. It has been observed that the energy efficiency decreases as the value of these hardware impairments increases. As we compared the Bulk antenna selection with the Per-subcarrier antenna selection scheme, the Per-subcarrier antenna selection requires more number of RF (radio frequency) chains and transmits power in comparison to the Bulk selection. Due to this, the Bulk antenna selection technique is more energy efficient than Per-subcarrier antenna selection.

One of new mobile technology is being developed by 3GPP is Long Term Evolution (LTE). LTE
usually used by user because provide high data rate. Many traffic sending over LTE, makes several users
didn’t get good Quality of Service (QoS). Traffic diversion is needed to increasing QoS value. It can be
done with offloading data method from LTE to Wi-Fi network. This paper using 802.11ah standard to
evaluate Wi-Fi network. IEEE 802.11ah have 1000 meters coverage area and efficiency energy
mechanism, which is proposed for M2M in 5G techonology. Some research has proven that traffic
diversion with offloading can increasing network performance. The contribution of this paper is to evaluate
the impact of traffic offload between LTE and IEEE 802.11ah standard. This paper propose two scenarios
using increment number of user and increment mobility speed of user to evaluate throughput and delay
value before and after the offload process. The simulation will simulate using Network Simulator-3. We can
conclude that network performance after offloading is better for every scenario. For increment number of
user scenario, throughput value increasing 29.08%, and delay decreasing 8.12%. Scenario with increment
mobility speed of user obtain throughput value increasing 37,57%, and delay value decreasing 27.228%.

And although LTE and LTE Advanced offer higher data traffic throughput than that of 3G, given to their wider allocated bandwidths, the combined capacities of even these networks is not sufficient to meet projected future capacity demands.
The conventional solution to increasing the capacity of LTE mobile networks includes splitting macro-cells and/or adding more sites. Both of these solutions require high CAPEX and OPEX, so mobile operators are seeking new and cost effective ways of increasing their network capacity. Bandwidth allocation during upstream transmission is crucial to determine the efficiency and performance of a XG-PON. For XG-PON, bandwidth assignment is done based on T-CONT which represents a traffic class as per ITU recommendation. DBA scheme used in this paper is based on CBU to assign bandwidth to ONUs based on the T-CONT supporting QoS as per SLA. In this paper, CATV traffic is used as traffic generator which used for generation of Ethernet frames and results showed expected trend of mean upstream delay for traffic class T2, T3 and T4 as compared to recommended value which is below 1.5ms. These results prove that CBU can also be implemented on real time traffic.

In this paper, CATV traffic is used as traffic generator which used for generation of Ethernet frames and results showed expected trend of mean upstream delay for traffic class T2, T3 and T4 as compared to recommended value which is below 1.5ms. These results prove that CBU can also be implemented on real time traffic.

Radio Resource Manager RRM, which aims to accept or reject requests for connection to the network
based on some constraints and ensuring optimal distribution of radio resources between Users Equipments
UEs. Its main functionalities include Admission Control AC and Packet Scheduling PS.
This paper will center mainly on the PS part of the RRM task, which performs the radio resource
allocation in both uplink and downlink directions. Several approaches and algorithms have been proposed
in the literature to address this need (allocate resources efficiently), the diversity and multitude of
algorithms is related to the factors considered for the optimal management of radio resource, specifically,
the traffic type and the QoS (Quality of Service) requested by the UE.
In this article, an art’s state of the radio resource allocation strategies and a detailed study of several
scheduling algorithms proposed for LTE (uplink and downlink) are made. Therefore, we offer our
evaluation and criticism.

In this paper the LTE system is modelled and simulated using MATLAB and the BER for 2×2 and 4×4 MIMO-LTE using 16QAM and 64QAM modulation schemes for Rayleigh fading environment are obtained against different SNR values.

Data multiplexing is accomplished using the Polarization Division Multiplexed (PDM) technology. 100 Gbps, 150 Gbps, and 200 Gbps data rates are transmitted under these circumstances utilizing various modulation formats. Various pre-processing and signal recovery steps are explained by using modern digital signal processing systems. The achieved spectrum efficiencies for PM-QPSK, PM-8 QAM, and PM-16 QAM, respectively, were 2, 3, and 4 (bits/s)/Hz. The modern software delivery process (or the CI/CD process) includes many tools, distributed teams, open-source code, and cloud platforms. Constant focus on speed to release software to market, along with the traditional slow and manual security checks has caused gaps in continuous security as an important piece in the software supply chain. Today organizations feel more susceptible to external and internal cyber threats due to the vast attack surface in their applications supply chain and the lack of end-to-end governance and risk management.
The software team must secure its software delivery process to avoid vulnerability and security breaches. This needs to be achieved with existing tool chains and without extensive rework of the delivery processes. This talk will present strategies and techniques for providing visibility into the true risk of the existing vulnerabilities, preventing the introduction of security issues in the software, resolving vulnerabilities in production environments quickly, and capturing the deployment bill of materials (DBOM).

The field of Information retrieval (IR) is currently undergoing a transformative shift, at least partly due to the emerging applications of generative AI to information access. In this talk, we will deliberate on the sociotechnical implications of generative AI for information access. We will argue that there is both a critical necessity and an exciting opportunity for the IR community to re-center our research agendas on societal needs while dismantling the artificial separation between the work on fairness, accountability, transparency, and ethics in IR and the rest of IR research. Instead of adopting a reactionary strategy of trying to mitigate potential social harms from emerging technologies, the community should aim to proactively set the research agenda for the kinds of systems we should build inspired by diverse explicitly stated sociotechnical imaginaries. The sociotechnical imaginaries that underpin the design and development of information access technologies needs to be explicitly articulated, and we need to develop theories of change in context of these diverse perspectives. Our guiding future imaginaries must be informed by other academic fields, such as democratic theory and critical theory, and should be co-developed with social science scholars, legal scholars, civil rights and social justice activists, and artists, among others.

3. Aim & Objective
• To implement LTE physical layer using OFDMA and SC-FDMA in
Matlab.
• The main objective is to implement the OFDMA and SC-FDMA
and to investigate its efficiency in terms of peak-to-average power
ratio (PAPR) and bit error rate (BER).
• PAPR(peak-to-average power ratio) : Ratio between peak power to
average power, higher order modulations increase PAPR in SC -
FDMA and decrease PAPR in OFDMA.
• BER(Bit error rate) : is the number of bit errors divided by the total
number of transferred bits during a studied time interval. BER is a
unit less performance measure, often expressed as a percentage.
4. Motivation
• LTE has introduced a number of new technologies when compared
to the previous cellular systems. These technologies enable LTE to
be able to operate more efficiently with respect to the use of
spectrum, and also to provide the much higher data rates.
• OFDMA (Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiple Access): is used
in the downlink
• SC-FDMA (Single Carrier - Frequency Division Multiple Access): is
used in the uplink
• Multiple Input Multiple Output (MIMO) Antenna: is uses multiple
antennas to make use of reflected signals to provide gains in channel
robustness and throughput, high speed because transfer the data will
be on the parallel .
5. INTRODUCTION
• LTE (Long Term Evolution) Technology, An organization known
International Telegraph Union (ITU) (presently, International
Telecommunication Union), The world's first publicly available LTE
service was launched in Stockholm and Oslo on December
14, 2009. LTE is the natural upgrade path for carriers with both
GSM/UMTS networks and CDMA networks such as Verizon Wireless.
• ITU has been involved in developing global standards; an organization
3rd Generation Partnership Project (3GPP).
• LTE radio transmission and reception specifications are documented in
TS 36.101 for the UE (User Equipment) and TS 36.104 for the eNB
(Evolved Node B). Frequency band (1920-1980 and 2110-2170) MHZ
• LTE is capable of supporting up to 1Giga Bits per second (1Gbps) for
fixed user and up to 100 Mega Bits per second (100 Mbps) for high
speed user of LTE systems is the advancement in physical layer.

motivation to undertake research on implementing LTE physical layer
using OFDMA and SC-FDMA.
• Chapter 2: Review of Long Term Evolution: This Chapter presents
a review of research related to implementing LTE physical layer using
OFDMA and SC-FDMA.
• Chapter 3: SC-FCDMA & OF-DMA in LTE Physical Layer: This
Chapter gives the details of research methodology and design approach
used to implement LTE physical layer using OFDMA and SC-FDMA.
• Chapter 4: Design & Simulation Results: This Chapter presents the
results of approach mentioned in Chapter 3 to implement LTE physical
layer using OFDMA and SC-FDMA. By using Matlab program, Finally,
this Chapter ends presenting the summary of main conclusions drawn.
11. • Expected Result
LTE Technology is expected to improve spectral efficiency in 3G
networks, allowing carriers to provide more data and voice services
over a given bandwidth, high speed data rate, high voice quality,
global mobility based on digital radio signal and also it has robust
security than 2G and 2.5G.
• Conclusion
BER is the key parameter for indicating the system performance of
any data link. In our research we analyze that for a fix value of SNR,
the BER increases for high order modulation (16-QAM and 64-
QAM) in both the multiple access techniques (OFDMA and SC-
FDMA) used in LTE system. On the other hand, the lower order
modulation schemes (BPSK and QPSK) experience less BER at
receiver thus lower order modulations improve the system
performance in terms of BER and SNR.
