Clean india mission
The Clean India Mission is a national campaign launched by the Indian government in 2014 to clean streets, roads, and infrastructure across 4041 towns in India. The campaign aims to accomplish the vision of a "Clean India" by 2019, the 150th birthday of Mahatma Gandhi, at an estimated cost of over 62000 crore (US$9.7 billion). The objectives are to ensure 100% collection and processing of municipal solid waste, generate awareness about sanitation and its links to public health, and eliminate open defecation.
