Sustainable development is development that meets the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs.
This is a group work carried out in the field of economics of sustainability. It looked at hidden cost and externalities. Also tried to appraise the emergence of carbon economics and carbon tax systems.
These are the slides to the MGCY Capacity Building team's first webinar: SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT 101. They introduce "what is sustainable development" in a simple and friendly way which you can replicate!

The Sustainable Development Goals define global priorities and aspirations for 2030. Where does your company strategy align with these global goals? Learn how the SDGs affect your business, and gain the tools and knowledge needed to maximize your company's contribution to the success of the SDGs.
GreenBiz 17 In-Depth Tutorials are intensive half-day sessions held prior to the start of the conference. These are designed to offer participants an opportunity to dive deeper into a topic of interest and develop tangible knowledge and skills. In addition, attendees will have a greater opportunity to network with their peers in these interactive sessions. Concurrent tutorials will be held the morning of Tuesday, February 14, and are available only to those who purchase an All Access Pass.
The growth leads to the depletion of natural resources of the planet. One of them is wood. We use unnecessary paper! Too much mess! Beware of CO2 imbalance... The immediate solution to stop destroying forests: dematerialization of exchanges with legal convincing value. Zero paper! The electronic originals are sealed and encrypted in a nominative and communicating electronic safe. The identification of counterparts is made via Magicaxess, a new high tech of identification WITHOUT having to download a digital certificate!
“Sustainable Development” (SD) is an expression frequently used by ecologists,
media and politicians, but it does not always carry the same concise meaning. The EEA
(1998) stated in 1998 that over 300 definitions of SD had been given, many of them inappropriate, as the outcome of different visions, values scales, interests and
ideologies. In this way, SD becomes a non-operative ‘chewing gum concept’ that
everybody can adapt in his own convenience (Bermejo, 2005, p.24)
The Brundtland Report (1987) states the most widely accepted definition of SD as
“the development that meets the needs of the present without compromising the ability
of future generations to meet their own needs”. The worldwide commitment on the
acceptance of this definition constitutes a milestone in itself.

open-sustainability is an approach that applies best practice principles from modern software development and management consulting to drive sustainable development in complex organizations. Using open source software we are creating Sustainability 2.0 – or as we call it FISDev, a Framework for Integrated Sustainable Development.
Half way through the World in 2030 here are ten innovation challenges for the next decade. A talk at ISPIM 2020 on 8 June will share more details and seed further dialogue on these and other issues on the horizon as the world deals with both pandemics, climate change and pervasive data.

Environmental Sustainability, Research, IOT, and Future Developmentijtsrd
The importance of sustainability is increasing, and so is the group of investigators researching it. This phenomenon motivates the authors to conduct a survey study that yields environmental sustainability results. The purpose of this paper is to describe the research and future, define literature categorization, and research focuses on environmental sustainability engineering research from the point of view of historical analysis using the highest impact factor journals in the Institute of Scientific Informations Journal Citation Study. The process for classifying research publications is based on the time horizon. Water research and pollution control and prevention rank first and second, respectively, in terms of research focus on sustainability. Furthermore, over the years, the Journal of Environmental Science and Technology has emerged as the journal with the most published sustainability research. The implications of our studys findings aid in the direction of future research in the field of sustainability. Guide to Corporate Ecosystem Valuation: A Framework for Improving Corporate D...Sustainable Brands
This report acts as a guide for Corporate Ecosystem Valuation (CEV). CEV can be defined as a process to make better-informed business decisions by explicitly valuing both ecosystem degradation and the provided by ecosystem services. By including ecosystem values, the company’s aim is to improve corporate performance in relation to social and environmental goals and the financial bottom-line. Valuation can make decision-making around ecosystems more compelling and practical, thereby enhancing sustainable development strategies and outcomes.

Effective Application Security in Software Delivery lifecycle using Deployment Firewall and DBOM
The modern software delivery process (or the CI/CD process) includes many tools, distributed teams, open-source code, and cloud platforms. Constant focus on speed to release software to market, along with the traditional slow and manual security checks has caused gaps in continuous security as an important piece in the software supply chain. Today organizations feel more susceptible to external and internal cyber threats due to the vast attack surface in their applications supply chain and the lack of end-to-end governance and risk management.
The software team must secure its software delivery process to avoid vulnerability and security breaches. This needs to be achieved with existing tool chains and without extensive rework of the delivery processes. This talk will present strategies and techniques for providing visibility into the true risk of the existing vulnerabilities, preventing the introduction of security issues in the software, resolving vulnerabilities in production environments quickly, and capturing the deployment bill of materials (DBOM).
Speakers:
Bob Boule
Robert Boule is a technology enthusiast with PASSION for technology and making things work along with a knack for helping others understand how things work. He comes with around 20 years of solution engineering experience in application security, software continuous delivery, and SaaS platforms. He is known for his dynamic presentations in CI/CD and application security integrated in software delivery lifecycle.
Gopinath Rebala
Gopinath Rebala is the CTO of OpsMx, where he has overall responsibility for the machine learning and data processing architectures for Secure Software Delivery. Gopi also has a strong connection with our customers, leading design and architecture for strategic implementations. Gopi is a frequent speaker and well-known leader in continuous delivery and integrating security into software delivery.

Smithy Ruby is an implementation of Smithy that generates a Ruby SDK using a Smithy model. In this talk, we will explore Smithy and Smithy Ruby to learn how to generate custom feature-rich SDKs that can communicate with any web service, such as a Rails JSON API.
Elevating Tactical DDD Patterns Through Object CalisthenicsDorra BARTAGUIZ
After immersing yourself in the blue book and its red counterpart, attending DDD-focused conferences, and applying tactical patterns, you're left with a crucial question: How do I ensure my design is effective? Tactical patterns within Domain-Driven Design (DDD) serve as guiding principles for creating clear and manageable domain models. However, achieving success with these patterns requires additional guidance. Interestingly, we've observed that a set of constraints initially designed for training purposes remarkably aligns with effective pattern implementation, offering a more ‘mechanical’ approach. Let's explore together how Object Calisthenics can elevate the design of your tactical DDD patterns, offering concrete help for those venturing into DDD for the first time!

Neuro-symbolic is not enough, we need neuro-*semantic*Frank van Harmelen
Neuro-symbolic (NeSy) AI is on the rise. However, simply machine learning on just any symbolic structure is not sufficient to really harvest the gains of NeSy. These will only be gained when the symbolic structures have an actual semantics. I give an operational definition of semantics as “predictable inference”.
All of this illustrated with link prediction over knowledge graphs, but the argument is general.
Neuro-symbolic is not enough, we need neuro-*semantic*
