3. Hoist of a cradle
Consists of :
• Electromagnetic break motor
• Speed controlling system
• Cable guiding system.
The suspended cradle will be moved up
and down through electromagnetic break
of Motor with the help of gears by using

6. Anti tilting lock system
To protect from when rope is broken or when
platform is inclined to a certain angle
The wire rope is through the Swing Arm roller and
when rope is break or the platform is angled ,the
swing arm is getting loose and break will work.

7. • When anti tilting safety lock is
applied, the tilt angle of suspended
platform should be 3 to 8 degree.
• The Safety Lock should conduct
maintenance at an interval of 6
months.

10. Electrical System
• Make sure of all cables are without damage.
• All Sockets of the cables are intact
• Male sure that Emergency Switches are working
before climbing up.
• Do not Damage or play with all switches and
manual descending levers.
• Universal Switches is for distinguishing the right
and left motors function.
• Ensure the over loading circuit breakers and
ELCB’s functioning properly.

11. Electrical Special Notice
1. If the limit switches are contacted with the
top limit stopper, it is necessary to make the
suspended platform move downwards
before pressing the starting and control
button.
2. If power supply cut off during operation ,use
manual descending lever by two operators
simultaneously to bring down the platform
smoothly.
3. Do not use cradle power let for big power
consumers such as welding machine ,use
only Hand power tools.

12. Steel Wire Rope (6*19W+IWS)
• Use the manufacturer rated wire
ropes.
• Steel rope should be regularly
inspected for deformation and
breakage .
• Regularly maintained to prevent
corrosion and pollution.
• Minimum use Three rope clamps.

13. When will Change the Steel Rope
1. Any deformation and distortion.
2. Twisting ,Kinking ,Bird caging, corrosion
and abrasion.
3. Dia. of the rope is when reducing more than 6%
4. Damage due to heat or electrical arc.
5. Three broken wires in one strand
( 6*19W+IWS wire rope are using)

14. Ensure that
• Ensure that ropes are passing through the safety
Lock.
• The distances between the rope clamps is 60
mm.
• The hoist must be fixed with Pin and bolts.
• The remaining steel rope should be placed in
order and bounded well.
• Heavy object must be hung onto the lower ends
of the working steel rope & the safety steel rope
respectively.

16. How to Inspect before start
1. If the connections are ok
2. Steel ropes are not damaged.
3. The clamping are correct.
4. The Nuts are tightened.
5. Test the power leakage breaker by pressing
push button.
6. Control box door should be close always.
7. Inspect the Travel Switch, universal switch and
motor sound.

17. How to Inspect before start
8. Checking safety lock by moving upward 1 to 2
meter and makes one end inclined 3 to 8
degree, safety lock should be actuated to lock
the steel rope.
9. Moving platform up and down to check the
noise of the hoist the check the
electromagnetic break.
10.Check the manual descending by using manual
lever.
11.Adjust the upper manual limit stopper.

18. Operators procedure
• Turn on Power supply
• Press the start Button
• Double hoist operation Turn the universal
switch to middle position and press control
button
• Single Hoist operation turn the universal
switch to side position and press control
button.
• Use Travel switch to travel
• After the work cut off Power supply and
control box is locked.

19. Safety operation regulation
1. The Cradle should be operated and
maintained by a trained qualified person.
2. The Operator should have the required PPE.
3. The operator shall have the Full body harness fastened
with a rope grab of a Separate Life line
4. Life line should be fixed independently other than of
cradle bracket.
5. Separate Grab for each person for anchoring the full
body harness.
6. Display the SWL, Not overloaded the cradle.
7. The load shall be evenly distributed inside the cradle.
8. Consider the wind speed of maximum 30 Kmph.

9. Fix the Platform as per manufacturer instruction. it is not allowed
to mix the parts with different manufacturer.
10. While normal operation ,It is prohibited to manually break or
safety lock.
11. It is necessary to press the starting button to move platform after
the limit switch or emergency button being pressed.
12. When limit switch is activated ,the operation platform will be
halted and alarm will ring, lower the platform promptly to have
the limit switch away from the limit stopper.
13. It is not allowed to use ladders or boxes or other tools from the
cradle to obtain increased height.
14. It is not allowed to use cradle as an elevator to shift people and
materials.
15. If hoist is blocked some where during operation, it is not allowed
to move forcedly. Place the platform first and eliminate the
trouble.
16. Incase for a rope breakage ,keep calm by taking anti dropping
measures by fastening platform with adjacent structure.

17.In case of power break during operation shut
down the control power first. Use the manual
descending lever to bring down the platform.
18.No high voltage line with in 10 meter.
19.Consider adverse weather condition of dust
storm, fog and wind speed 30 KMPH.
20.Make sure that welding slag/spark will not
damage steel rope.
21.Remove all obstacles from cradle way.
22.Consider over and underneath hazards .
23.Need proper access and egress ,do not jump
from windows and from other cradles.

24.Cut off power and close the control before
cleaning.
25.Do not allow water to go inside motor,
safety lock, electromagnetic break and
control box.
26.Do not use grease or oil for steel wire
rope.
27.Do the preventive maintenance and paste
color coded stickers.

23. Maintenance
• Daily maintenance and check before
operation will be done by the operator and
check periodically by the qualified personnel.
• The maintenance and service shall be
recorded.
Safety Lock:
a) Cleaning the surface
b) Cleaning the surface of the steel rope.
c) Prevent water and dirt entering the lock.
Hoist:
a) Cleaning the surface.
b) Cleaning the surface of the break.
c) Prevent water and water entering the motor and hoist.

24. Daily check
a) Reliability of the safety lock.
b) Emergency stop and limit switch.
c) Reliability of the electromagnetic
break.
d) Manual descending device.
e) Steel rope, rope clamp and
connections.
f) Trail lift about 1 to 2 meter before using

25. Periodical check
a) Safety Lock must be re calibrated.
b) Replace gear oil, check the wear out
condition of the gear( 3 Months)
c) Check the bearing assembly, guide roller,
steel ring and press pan.
d) Check the wear out condition of the break
disk.
e) Replace the break disk is deformed more than
10mm
