Borderless Access conducted a survey of 80 managers in chemical, oil and gas, energy and utilities, and pharmaceutical industries across China, Indonesia, Brazil and Russia to understand their perceptions and considerations when purchasing gas leak detectors. The survey had quotas for different industries like upstream oil, gas, midstream oil, and petrochemicals. Borderless Access aggressively recruited respondents, incentivized participation, and informed the client of progress to complete the survey on time. Through targeted outreach and parallel profiling, they overachieved the required number of quality responses, impressing the client with their effort and results.

What was the research problem?
Our client wanted to understand the
perception and pattern considered in
purchasing gas leak detectors among
managers and above working in
chemical, Oil & Gas/ Energy and
utilities, Pharmaceutical Industries.
There were certain sub-quotas on industries as:
• Upstream oil (25%), Upstream gas (25%),
• Midstream oil (10%), Petrochemical (10%),
• Power generation (10%).

How did Borderless Access solve the problem?
• Aggressive sampling was exercised to meet the deadline.
• Pre-screened the targeted audience along with the invite
text and to increase the response rate, the respondents
were well incentivized.
• The client was well informed of the progress and the
changes during the on-field metrics.
• We took an alternative approach by mentioning the
requirement in the invite sent to manager + levels and made
sure it was sent to quality passed respondents.
• The profiling process was done in parallel during the field
study.
