Over 100,000 breath tests are conducted annually in the UK, with 1 in 5 coming back positive. Drinking impairs driving abilities like reaction time, judgement of speed and distance, and vision. Penalties for drink driving include large fines, imprisonment, and long-term license bans. Campaigns like Think aim to educate people, especially young men, about the risks and consequences of drink driving through posters, ads, and messages that there is no excuse for taking the risk.

Prom Safety & Date Rape
Prom Safety and Date Rape are basically two powerpoints in one. Prior to the prom (or any similar event) present this presentation to your teen students (pending school approval of course). Included in this powerpoint is information on date rape drugs, drinking and driving, safety in groups, and more. Be sure young men AND young women are presented these safety tips. This will often encourage the 'good guys' to be more observant to their female friends and their surroundings. Feel free to tweak this powerpoint to meet your needs. You may want to make this two completely separate powerpoints (or contact me and I will be glad to do it for you). I have presented this presentation numerous times. The teens were very receptive. Be sure and ask questions as you are presenting, sparking discussion, engaging your students. I try to keep my presentations simple and to the point, making it easier for the kids to follow.

The Tricare dental plan will change providers from United Concordia to MetLife effective May 1, 2012. MetLife will provide coverage to over 2 million Tricare dental plan beneficiaries. Claims with dates of service before May 1, 2012 will still be processed by United Concordia.

Through an in-depth analysis of printed and electronic media, the study examines the impacts of these sacrifices on the academic and personal lives of those involved. The paper highlights examples from various universities, demonstrating student activism's long-term and short-term effects, including disciplinary actions, social backlash, and career implications. The researchers also explore the broader implications of student sacrifices. The findings reveal that these sacrifices are driven by a profound commitment to justice and human rights, and are influenced by the increasing availability of information, peer interactions, and personal convictions. The study also discusses the broader implications of this activism, comparing it to historical precedents and assessing its potential to influence policy and public opinion. The emotional and psychological toll on student activists is significant, but their sense of purpose and community support mitigates some of these challenges. However, the researchers call for acknowledging the broader Impact of these sacrifices on the future global movement of FreePalestine.

- 1. Fans Don’t Let Fans Drive Drunk Pass Your Keys to a Designated Driver This Super Bowl Sunday Super Bowl Sunday is one of America’s biggest and most entertaining national sporting events as friends and families gather to socialize and watch the big game. Yet, it is also one of the nation’s most dangerous days on the roadways due to impaired driving. According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), 130 people, representing 39 percent of all traffic fatalities, died during the 2011 Super Bowl weekend in crashes involving impaired drivers with blood alcohol concentration (BAC) levels of .08 or higher. That’s why Fort Drum’s Command Safety Office and the Alcohol and Substance Abuse Program is joining with the National Football League (NFL), NHTSA and other state and local highway safety and law enforcement officials to remind everyone to act responsibly by designating a sober driver if they plan on drinking alcohol this Super Bowl weekend. Please remember that Fans Don’t Let Fans Drive Drunk. If you plan on using alcohol while cheering your team on to victory, pass your keys to a sober, designated driver before the Super Bowl party begins. If you are hosting a Super Bowl party: Remember, you can be held liable and prosecuted if someone you served ends up in an impaired driving crash. Make sure all of your guests designate their sober drivers in advance, or help arrange ride- sharing with other sober drivers. Serve lots of food—and include lots of non-alcoholic beverages at the party. Stop serving alcohol at the end of the third quarter of the game and begin serving coffee and dessert. Keep the numbers for local cab companies handy, and take the keys away from anyone who is thinking of driving while impaired. If you are attending a Super Bowl party or watching at a sports bar or restaurant: Avoid drinking too much alcohol too fast. Pace yourself—eat enough food, take breaks and alternate with non-alcoholic drinks. Designate your sober driver before the party begins and give that person your car keys. If you don’t have a designated driver, ask a sober friend for a ride home; call a cab, friend or family member to come get you; or stay where you are and sleep it off until you are sober. Never let a friend leave your sight if you think they are about to drive while impaired. Remember, Fans Don’t Let Fans Drive Drunk. Always buckle up—it’s still your best defense against other impaired drivers. Impaired driving is no accident nor is it a victimless crime. In 2010, 13,470 people died in highway crashes involving an impaired driver or motorcycle rider with an illegal BAC level of .08 or higher. Driving impaired or riding with someone who is impaired is simply not worth the risk because the consequences are serious and real. Not only do you risk killing yourself or someone else, the trauma and financial costs of a crash or an arrest for impaired driving can be significant. Please act responsibly. Pass your keys to a sober driver before the big game begins. And remember, real Fans Don’t Let Fans Drive Drunk.
