SAI Learning Connection – students, faculty and staff's have access to
FREE web courses
• It requires users to Self Register – so the user creates their own
username and password to access the system
• It provides self-paced courses on Java, Solaris and other Sun
Technologies.
• Get familiar with the SAILC features, they’re doorways to learning:
FEATURES
Catalog: Shows all available learning events
SEARCH-and-LEARN : lets you search the SAILC catalog for learning
events.
My Plan: Contains links to learning events that have you’ve added to
your formal learning plan.
My Report: Contains information regarding the number of courses you
have started and completed.
Live Help: 24x7 immediate access to technical support
SAI News: The scrolling list displays links to various topics relating to
news and learning events.

ePractice Certification Exam
• As a Sun Academic Initiative (SAI) Program participant, you will have
access to ePractice Certification Exams via SAI Learning Connection
(SAILC) to prepare for Sun Certification.
• These no-cost web based practice exams will acquaint your
students, faculty and staff with the format of the exams and its
questions.
• The practice exams includes sample test questions, the correct
answers with explanations, and provides the test taker suggestions
for future study.
• They’re available
24 hours a day.

Discount Vouchers for Certification Exam
The Ultimate goal of the SAI program is
TO HELP students,faculty and staff
GET SUN CERTIFIED!
As a SAI participant, you can avail of the
discount voucher for Certification Exam.
This discount voucher will allow you to take
the Sun Certification Exam at a discount
rate- an exam that normally cost $300 for
professionals – as a SAI Participant they are
only $60 in the US and $40 in Latin America
and Asia (dependent on currency exchange)
Access to the Discount Voucher for
Certification Exam is through the SAI
Learning Connection system.

Instructor Led Training (ILT)**
• If your institution applied and got accepted to be an SAI-ILT participant, you
not only have access to SAI Learning Connection (SAILC web courses) but
you also have access to Sun's Partner Exchange (SPE) website in order to
avail of instructor led training materials such as presentations,
overheads,and order instructor guides and students guides at cost.

The Sun Academic Initiative Program's learning management system called SAI
Learning Connection (SAILC) is located at:
https://sailearningconnection.skillport.com
SAI LC provides access to Sun's technology Web Courses such as Java, Solaris and
StarOffice.

first in order to use the SAI

22. Opportunity Sun Campus Ambassadors
• Campus ambassadors are Sun Microsystems interns who build
a Sun community on their school or university campus. They
learn all about the latest Sun open-source technologies and
share that knowledge with fellow students. This includes
activities such as starting a Sun user group on campus,
demonstrating Sun technology to fellow students, promoting
Sun events and contests, and blogging.
• Campus ambassadors work five hours each week to bring
cutting-edge technology to fellow students, professors, and
researchers -- and they get top pay to do it.
