More men than women responded to the film survey, with the highest response rates from those aged 15-18 and 22-30. Most respondents worked full-time or were full-time students. Comedies were the favorite genre at 55%, followed by action at 18%, while no one favored thrillers. Horror films were popular but not as much as comedy or action. Respondents enjoyed the story, being scared, and build up/dark scenes the most when watching horror. Will Smith's film "I Am Legend" was the most commonly cited favorite horror movie. Most watch films twice a month through streaming or DVD/Blu-Ray, and prefer watching with others rather than alone.

1. This is the results of my film survey. More men answered my survey than women; I had a wide range
of ages answer my survey, but 15-18 years was the highest age response, with 22-30 years being the
second highest age response. Most people where in full time work or where full time students, I had
a lower response rate from people working part time, part time students and unemployed people;
although the lower responses still had a positive outcome for the data.
Most of my responses said that they watch films, with one person saying that they don’t watch films.
People’s favourite genre’s varied, but I was able to determine the overall favourite from the results I
had. Comedy was the overall favourite with 55%, action was second with a massive decrease in
percent with 18%, leaving romance, horror and sci-fi tied with 9%. But to my surprise no one said
thriller was their favourite genre. Do you like horror films? Well the overall response was yes,

2. although one person said no; leaving the conclusion of horror is popular but it’s not as popular as
comedy or action.
People said that they liked the story 25%, they liked being scared25% and they also liked the build
up 20% and the dark and gloomy scenes20%. The characters weren’t that important to the audience,
only 10% said they liked the characters. People where interested in the idea of crossing horror with
another genre; crossing horror with comedy, thriller and romance was a very popular idea 27%,
action was liked too 18%. But no one seemed to want horror crossed with sci-fi.
There was a wide range of horror films that people said was there favourites, but the one that most
people said they liked was ‘I Am Legend’, people said the reason for this was because ‘Will Smith is
in it!’ People like Will Smith.
Do you watch films often? The answer is yes. 55% of people said that they watch films twice a
month, 18% of people said once a month and more than twice a week. And once a week had 9% of
people, but no one said that they watched films twice a week.
People watch there films in different ways, most people watch films through download/streaming,
quite a few people watch films on DVD/BlueRay or at the Cinema. And 9% said that they watch films
on portable devices.

3. The results show that most people prefer to what films with others 80%, but a few people said
they’d rather watch films alone 20%. Most people enjoy watching films 82%, although some people
said that they don’t enjoy watching films18%.
