Healing Journey – Choices & Solutions After Abuse By Ms. Anu Mehta.
Healing journey - Choices and solutions after abuse.
The panic that surrounds when we talk about abuse, the queasy feeling
associated with it, the gripping of anxiety and discomfort on reading
the morning headlines instantly instills fear and in some way revives
the memories otherwise subdued or suppressed long back.
Before we talk about “abuse” let us understand what ‘abuse’ really
means. On breaking the word abuse into “Ab” and “use”, “Ab” means
“about” while use refers to “being used”. Hence Abuse literally means
being used in a way that is not acceptable”. This may be of various
types emotional, physical, mental, verbal, substance, sexual and
economic, abuse are some of them. All of the above types are equally
damaging. Abuse could be inflicted by self or others. ‘Self abuse’
means behavior that causes damage or harm to one-self.

A Strategic Approach: GenAI in EducationPeter Windle
Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies such as Generative AI, Image Generators and Large Language Models have had a dramatic impact on teaching, learning and assessment over the past 18 months. The most immediate threat AI posed was to Academic Integrity with Higher Education Institutes (HEIs) focusing their efforts on combating the use of GenAI in assessment. Guidelines were developed for staff and students, policies put in place too. Innovative educators have forged paths in the use of Generative AI for teaching, learning and assessments leading to pockets of transformation springing up across HEIs, often with little or no top-down guidance, support or direction.
This Gasta posits a strategic approach to integrating AI into HEIs to prepare staff, students and the curriculum for an evolving world and workplace. We will highlight the advantages of working with these technologies beyond the realm of teaching, learning and assessment by considering prompt engineering skills, industry impact, curriculum changes, and the need for staff upskilling. In contrast, not engaging strategically with Generative AI poses risks, including falling behind peers, missed opportunities and failing to ensure our graduates remain employable. The rapid evolution of AI technologies necessitates a proactive and strategic approach if we are to remain relevant.

3. Looking at my family, I say my last good-bye.
“I’m sorry I disappointed you, Dad.
Mommy, please don’t cry. I didn’t mean to hurt
you, or cause you any pain.
I’m sorry all you’re left with is a grave that
bears my name.
I’m sorry all your dreams for me have all been
ripped away,
The plans for my future now buried in a grave.
It was a stupid thing to do,
I wish I could take it back.
But the curtain is being lowered now.
So ends my final act.”

positive attitude – “I can do” and “I will do”!

19. LIFE SKILL WORKSHOPS
“Sometimes we hide our inner beauty, and due to
situations we have a fake attitude and fear in mind
that if we really do what we think, we will be
misunderstood or not be respected; thus we will
never want to come out and share our true
feelings, and instead feel suffocated. After this
program , I hope that we will now be able to accept
each other and share and listen.”
“I have always been scared of speaking in front of
others because they can make fun of me. But today
I have learned about self-respect, and what I can
do. I would like to talk to you ma’am and fight my
fear forever.”
