To Whom It May Concern,
This letter is a reference for my former colleague Ms. Sue Mills, currently an
Administrator in the School of Culture, History and Language in the Australian
National University’s College of Asia and the Pacific.
I have known Sue since she began as an administrator in May 2007 in what was
then the Australian National University’s Faculty of Asian Studies, subsequently
its School of Culture, History and Language. At the time I was in charge of the
Hindi and Urdu courses in the Faculty. Sue worked closely with me in the
Faculty and School from that date until my retirement in June 2013.
In addition to her normal duties in ensuring that my students were properly
attended to administratively, Sue was always very willing to help me in a variety
of other ways so that I might carry out my teaching and research responsibilities
successfully. In particular Sue gave me invaluable assistance each year in the
preparation of the extensive teaching materials which I needed for my classes.
Without Sue’s intelligence, initiative and skill I would never have been able to
produce these materials so effectively.
Throughout the years that I was associated with Sue I found her consistently
friendly, efficient and unusually perceptive and energetic. Sue Mills is a well-
qualified and experienced administrator and a warm-hearted and sympathetic
person. I can give my very highest recommendation for her for any position that
she might apply for in the future.
Sincerely,
Dr. Richard Barz
