This document provides an overview of a proposal on succession planning from a manager's perspective. It discusses common challenges companies face in retaining high potentials, and introduces the "Manager's Life Quadrant Model" as a tool for managers to assess themselves. A 3-step approach is outlined to help managers leverage succession planning for their own career development: 1) self-assessment, 2) selecting a strategy, and 3) developing an action plan. The workshop materials provide templates and consulting resources to help managers measure results over time in working towards high potential status.
