This document provides tips for reading intervention in three main sections. The first section discusses setting up student groups by mixing abilities and avoiding putting friends together. The second section recommends using curriculum-relevant vocabulary in workshops to improve reading comprehension and writing. The third section offers in-class tips, such as assigning lower-level spelling to struggling readers, using whole-class reading instead of round robin, having one-on-one reading sessions, and incorporating targeted vocabulary into discussions.
This SlideShare gives information on the importance of reading comprehension, two strategies for students to develop this skill, and three instructional methods for teaching reading comprehension. Enjoy!
This presentation will explain about Grammar translation methog. It is method of foreign or second language teaching which makes use of translation and grammar study as the main teaching and learning activities.

English language learning (ELL) students face many challenges to academic achievement. Not
only must they learn academic English, but they must also learn content subject matter and
skills. In addition, ELL students are now expected to meet many of the same national and
state standards and assessments as native English speakers. Learning strategies instruction
can help students meet these goals.

In many scientific areas, systems can be described as interaction networks where elements correspond to vertices and interactions to edges. A variety of problems in those fields can deal with network comparison and characterization.
The problem of comparing and characterizing networks is the task of measuring their structural similarity and finding characteristics which capture structural information. In order to analyze complex networks, several methods can be combined, such as graph theory, information theory, and statistics.
In this project, we present methods for measuring Shannon’s entropy of graphs.
Writing across the Curriculum - Middle/Senior Years, MRCLFaye Brownlie
First of three days for MRLC. Establishing a classroom where writing is integral and accessible for all students. Beginning to build criteria with students. Writing with different purposes in mind. Revisiting writing process. Several strategies shared.
3. SETTING UP GROUPS
• Mix abilities to maximize peer learning.
• Try not to put friends together to eliminate non-
essential chatter.
• Observe student behavior and make adjustments if
needed.
4. Review Open Court
weekly lesson objectives
to determine key concepts
that students can work on.
Use quarterly plans to
determine weekly
standards to work on also.

6. CLASS TIPS
• Look for students who have a hard time reading.
• Assign them lower level spelling words, and try phonics games.
• Use whole class coral reading instead of round robin.
• Have one on ones with struggling readers and have them read passages of
their reading ability to you to encourage them while you work on increasing
their level.
• Go to the Florida Center For Reading Research (FCRR). They have a lot of
activities you can do as centers, and even send home some activities with
students who can use the extra practice at home.
• Bring Vocabulary up and use it often in class discussions, and out of class
discussions so students can absorb the words.
• Vocabulary tips: paint chips, four squares, comic strips, mad libs using only
targeted vocabulary.
