Initiating Event Gets the story going. Gives an idea of what is going to happen next. The problem or conflict is introduced.
Rising Action Leads up to the climax. Sequence of events. Excitement increases as it rises.
Climax It is where it starts to change. The most exciting part of the story. The problem is at its highest point.
Falling Action The problem is getting ready to get solved. Leads to the end of the story. The action slows down. The problem begins to get better. The sequence of events that leads to the resolution.
Resolution The story falls into place. All the problems get solved.  All the loose ends are tied up. All the questions are answered.
