ANALYSIS
OBSERVATION 1
The revenue generated is the least in the month of December as per monthly data worksheet that is $223,011.00
Root
The data and after studying other
factors, it showed that during the
month of December is when most
working people prefer to migrate to
other countries due to base change
or work opportunities as they choose
to start new lives from a fresh year.
Also, Singapore expects most new
immigrants during the month of
December.
Suggestion
Since December is the month of
Christmas holidays and New year
preparations, distribution of Honger
Manie’s pamphlets and
advertisements on social media
would be an economical and definite
solution to attract more customers.
OBSERVATION 2
The profit from the cookies is the least that is $1,25,294.40.
Root
As the sum of cost price of cookies is
$79.20, the profit generated is least.
Suggestion
Since, the store layout displays the
section for cookies is located in the
end of the store, either the location
of the cookies can be changed to the
middle section to create more
visibility for customers or a cookie
tasting can be arranged in the store
by hiring couple of volunteers to
market the product well.
OBSERVATION 3
Root
This may be due to a higher demand
from the families with children.
Suggestion
The families with children are the
most regular customers as per the
survey report and they do not mind
paying a higher amount for candies,
hence, the section for candies can be
relocated towards the end of the
store as consumers will still buy it.
Even though the sum of cost price of candies is the highest ($408.00), still the total quantity
sold is the highest for the same which is 6367.
OBSERVATION 4
Root
The cause for less profit from a
brand which is most liked by the
consumers can be because of the
limited variety of the products.
Suggestion
More variety of snacks from Maddy’s
can be added in the store.
As per market survey question 3 the most liked brand by the consumers is Maddy’s even
though its quality value is 5. At the same time the profit made by Maddy’s is the third least
($1,53,918).
OBSERVATION 5
Root
Most respondents in the survey were
families with children, this may be
the reason for different variety of
choice.
Suggestion
Keeping consumers expectations in
mind, more variety under each brand
should be introduced.
The most important parameter while shopping for customers is ‘Variety of choices’ (as per
market survey question 5 spreadsheet).
CONCLUSION
In a nutshell, the predominant issues with Honger
Manie are lack of variety in snacks, poor marketing
of specific brands and shop layout. Hence,
suggestions made would definitely enhance their
sales and revenue.
