Introduction
I am an environmental scientist/project manager with almost 15 years experience in a broad
range of environmental management fields. Most of my professional career has been in the
field of environmental management (and the associated monitoring and implementation) and
spatial information systems. This has included writing, reviewing and implementing CEMPs and
other construction management plans (erosion and sediment control, community impact,
cultural heritage, noise and vibration, approvals, flora and fauna etc) and most recently as
Senior Field Environmental Advisor in the gas industry.
The majority of my experience is within South East Queensland. I have extensive skills and
experience in the planning and construction phases of medium and large sized construction
projects (from both the client and contractor sides) including the Hale Street Bridge
(GoBetween Bridge), Clem7 Tunnel and Legacy Way Tunnel.
Most recently I have been working in the Coal Seam Gas industry in the Surat Basin of
Western Queensland as a Senior Field Environmental Advisor within the Drillings and
Completions team of Origin Energy.

Origin Energy – Senior Environmental Advisor
I was seconded to Origin Energy in the Surat Basin (Western Qld) as a Senior Field
Environmental Advisor on the construction phase of their CSG projects in the Surat Basin. I have
worked with numerous groups within Origin Energy including Gathering, Development and
most recently with Exploration and Appraisals.
My role as Senior Environmental Advisor with Origin Energy was responsible for:
Field management of environmental requisites on behalf of Origin for lease construction
and drilling and completions;
Implementation of the Environmental Approval (EA), associated Environmental
Management Plans (EMP), Cultural Heritage and Landholder requirements;
Management and review of Contractor’s performance;
Field based sampling and reporting;
Management of field staff; and
Health and safety.
4. Legacy Way Tunnel – Design Phase Consultancy Alliance
I was employed through URS to the Design Alliance for the Legacy Way Tunnel
Project (Brisbane). I worked closely with both the design team and constructors to ensure
environmental compliance across the project during the design phase.
My role as Associate Environmental Scientist on the Legacy way project was responsible for:
Managing the development of the construction EMP;
Managing the certification process of the construction EMP;
Coordination of baseline environmental monitoring;
Management of other team members;
Management of sub contractors and consultants; and
Management of the environmental permitting and approvals process.
Senior Consultant - Mipela Geosolutions
March 2010 – November 2010.
Mipela Geosolutions is a provider of spatial information solutions to predominantly the oil, gas
and coal industry within Australia and the Pacific. The company provides spatial information
services and information management software for the resource industry.
As a senior consultant I was responsible for the project management of service provision and
liaison with a number of a number of key coal, landholder consultant and environmental
consultant clients. My role involved client management, coordination of projects, staff
management, quality assurance of final product and management of budget.
Senior Environmental Scientist - Brisbane City Council (City Design)
June 2006 – Dec 2009.
Brisbane City Council (BCC) is the largest local government authority in Australia. City Design is
a business unit of BCC, providing environmental services throughout Council. As a Senior
Environmental Scientist, my role involved the management of projects, staff and resources and
the provision of advice to project principals regarding environmental compliance and resource
management issues.
I was involved in the environmental management (including on site management and auditing)
of two major infrastructure projects, Hale Street Bridge (~$AUD400 million) and North South
Bypass Tunnel (~$AUD3.2 Billion).
I was responsible for the review and implementation of a surface water, groundwater, leachate
and gas monitoring program across Council’s former landfill sites. This involved the
coordination and management of sampling staff, data recording and the management of
internal and external reporting.
5. I undertook the onsite environmental management of the Brisbane wide groundwater drilling
program. This involved pre planning and implementation of site environmental controls and the
management of water and drilling fluids. During pump testing I undertook regular field water
quality testing and sampling across the sites.
Other projects I played a significant role in include:
On site environmental management representative for major oil spill containment,
recovery and rehabilitation (Moonie-Brisbane oil pipeline).
Environmental auditing of both internal and external contractors and projects.
Implementation of construction environmental management plans of various small to
medium civil infrastructure projects.
Development of preliminary environmental assessments (PEA), review of environmental
factors and environmental impact assessments (EIS) for small to medium infrastructure
projects.
Environmental project manager for urban road construction projects.
Development of environmental monitoring programs for compliance with site based
management plans and environmental compliance.
Management of the development of EIS for small to medium BCC projects.
Responsibilities
Financial management of the environmental management component of small to
medium sized projects.
BCC’s environmental representative on major infrastructure projects providing advice
and assistance to the Alliance members and undertaking a regulatory role on behalf of
BCC;

6. Senior GIS Consultant - Mipela Consulting
September 2005 – March 2006.
Mipela Consulting specialises in information management for domestic and international
pipeline industries. Queensland-Papua New Guinea gas pipeline project. Mipela Consulting was
responsible for the integrity of the GIS system and provided data management, mobile data
capture solutions, cartographic and intranet GIS support to the project consortium.
Responsibilities:
Client liaison and managing data in the information management systemsupporting the
project; and
Provided advice and solutions to clients regarding landholder liaison and spatial data
management.
Resource Management Advisor - ENB Provincial Government
June 2004 – July 2005.
This volunteer role (organised through Australian Volunteers International) was to provide
resource management advice to local community groups and to assess the viability of
eco/community based tourism within Pomio District in the East New Britain (ENB) Province of
Papua New Guinea (PNG). This involved community capacity building for the development of
community based tourism (CBT) at the district level whilst providing environmental
management advice to the Provincial Government.
I was involved in all facets of community and economic development in this role. This required
liaison between communities, governments, non-government organisations (NGO’s) and the
private sector. I also managed funding proposals to Aid Agencies and NGO’s to secure ongoing
funding for projects and facilitating resource management awareness for the communities.

7. Senior GIS Analyst - Queensland Fire and Rescue Service
May 2002 – June 2004.
Queensland Fire and Rescue Service (QFRS) is a unit of the Department of Emergency
Services (DES) and is the State Authority for both urban and rural fire management throughout
Queensland. The GIS/Risk Management unit is responsible for the provision of products to
planners, managers, Director General’s department, Minister’s office and operational staff
throughout all of DES.
My role was in the development of new capabilities and initiatives of the GIS/Risk Management
unit. I developed new business opportunities within the wider use of spatial information as a
decision support tool within the department.
Responsibilities:
Field delivery of decision support information during Queensland, NSW and ACT fires;
Instigation of a Queensland Emergency Response special interest group;
Development of methodology and production of urban and rural bushfire risk models;
Organisation and coordination of professional development seminars to the spatial
information and emergency management community of Queensland; and

Environmental Consultant - Egis Consulting Australia
May 2000 – May 2002.
The Environmental Management division of Egis (now GHD) Brisbane specialised in the
assessment of the environmental impacts of proposed infrastructure projects, development of
environmental management plans and spatial/environmental modelling for projects
throughout Australia. My role as Environmental Consultant was the management of projects,
business development, management and compilation of EIA and EMP reports and geospatial
modelling.
One of our key clients was Power link Queensland, where I managed numerous Environmental
Impact Assessment and Environmental Management Plan projects for transmission
infrastructure development. My role was to manage all environmental facets of the project
including stakeholder and community engagement.
