March 2013-Present: Project Manager – Airbus Defence and Space
Managing multipleprojects,withvaluesupto£90M withinthe Aerospace industry. Reportingdirectly
to stakeholdersand Programmanagers,responsible forthe managementof the projectteamdefining
rolesandresponsibilities.Mydutiesincludedbutnotlimitedto;Productionof detailedproject
managementplans;liaisingatall levelstoidentifyprojectactivities,milestones,resource

upliftingexistinginfrastructure tonewbuildsincritical environments.These includedthe refitof the
BritishEmbassyinNepal,militarycampsinAfghanistan,BruneiandBelize andthe new voice anddata
infrastructure inKuwaitforthe withdrawal of BritishtroopsfromIraq.
Responsibilitiesinclude:
 Leadingandmanagingan installationteamof 30 personnel,includingthe developmentof effective
and efficientsystems, controls and procedures as well as the management & implementation of
Health & Safety polices in the work place
 Managing personnel between multiple projects, factoring in holiday, carrier courses and
emergency situations
 Project planning and management, budget control and risk analysis
 Providingfullycosteddesignproposalsandsolutions for client network infrastructures, including
voice and data campus backbone systems(Copper and Fibre Optic), internal structured networks
(Cat 5e, Fibre Optic and Wireless) and related network hardware (LAN and WAN)
 Maintainregistersandlogs,suchas resources, cost, issues and risks. Produce key reports such as
milestone reports, issue and risk reports and financial reports to stakeholders
 Advise stakeholders regarding theoretical and practical knowledge of all cable medias and Local
Area Network components, including wireless and microwave
 Project lifecycle management from initial proposal to the final delivery and implementation
 Manage strategic telecommunications network projects incorporating planning, designing,
contractual agreements and quality acceptance in accordance with JSP 480, telecommunications
standards BSEN 50173 & 50174 and Tempest wiring regulations JSP 440 and BS7671
 Project management from pre-sales consultation to final completion of complex network
installations ensuring they are both on time and on budget
 Manage and source external contractors successfully, often with a language barrier to be
overcome. Always maintaining good working relationships throughout
 Commissioning, decommissioning and quality assurance for contractor based installations
 Detailedconsultationandclientrelationshipmanagementinordertodeliverproposalsinlinewith
customer expectations.
 Lead representation on various technical committees and working groups, providing technical
guidance and policies
 Surveying, planning and estimating for all types of cable infrastructure projects from campus
situations to single building on new or refurbishment, multiple floor, and office environments.
 Management& supervisionof engineersundertaking various internal, external voice, IRS cabling
and electrical installations across projects in the UK, Nepal, Iraq and Afghanistan.
 Production of detailed technical site surveys, inspection reports and Operations & Maintenance
Manuals.

Workingas the lead Installation Technician, carrying out work packages assigned. These consisted of
fault finding and maintenance, minor moves and large scale refits and uplifts.

 Managing a small team of up to 8 installation technicians
 Leadingan installationscrewundertakingvariousinternal,externalvoice,IRScablingandelectrical

 Ensuring that installations are undertaken accurately and on time
 Implementinginstallations including copper, fibre and Cat 5E. This included terminating, splicing
and joining of cables.
 Managing a fault and maintenance crew, identifying faults and rectifying them on existing
infrastructure
 Completing all testing and records to handover projects once completed

Carrying out the installation of copper, fibre and CAT 5E cabling across multiple sites globally.
