Steve Jobs was born in 1955 and co-founded Apple Inc. in 1976 with Steve Wozniak. Some of their earliest inventions included the Apple I computer in 1976 and the Macintosh laptop in 2006. Jobs went on to revolutionize the music industry with the iPod in 2001 and introduced the iPhone in 2007. Despite doubts from critics, Jobs proved hugely successful with his intuitive designs and ability to anticipate consumer needs. However, his career was cut short when he passed away in 2011 after a long battle with cancer. While his death was a major loss for Apple, Jobs left a lasting legacy through the innovative products that transformed technology and how people interact with computers and mobile devices.

Your time is limited, so don’t waste it living someone’s life! - Steve JobsVinay C
This is a quote from Steve Job's commencement address at Stanford University in 2005.
"Your time is limited, so don't waste it living someone else's life. Don't be trapped by dogma — which is living with the results of other people's thinking. Don't let the noise of others' opinions drown out your own inner voice. And most important, have the courage to follow your heart and intuition. They somehow already know what you truly want to become. Everything else is secondary."

The Roman Empire A Historical Colossus.pdfkaushalkr1407
The Roman Empire, a vast and enduring power, stands as one of history's most remarkable civilizations, leaving an indelible imprint on the world. It emerged from the Roman Republic, transitioning into an imperial powerhouse under the leadership of Augustus Caesar in 27 BCE. This transformation marked the beginning of an era defined by unprecedented territorial expansion, architectural marvels, and profound cultural influence.
The empire's roots lie in the city of Rome, founded, according to legend, by Romulus in 753 BCE. Over centuries, Rome evolved from a small settlement to a formidable republic, characterized by a complex political system with elected officials and checks on power. However, internal strife, class conflicts, and military ambitions paved the way for the end of the Republic. Julius Caesar’s dictatorship and subsequent assassination in 44 BCE created a power vacuum, leading to a civil war. Octavian, later Augustus, emerged victorious, heralding the Roman Empire’s birth.
Under Augustus, the empire experienced the Pax Romana, a 200-year period of relative peace and stability. Augustus reformed the military, established efficient administrative systems, and initiated grand construction projects. The empire's borders expanded, encompassing territories from Britain to Egypt and from Spain to the Euphrates. Roman legions, renowned for their discipline and engineering prowess, secured and maintained these vast territories, building roads, fortifications, and cities that facilitated control and integration.
The Roman Empire’s society was hierarchical, with a rigid class system. At the top were the patricians, wealthy elites who held significant political power. Below them were the plebeians, free citizens with limited political influence, and the vast numbers of slaves who formed the backbone of the economy. The family unit was central, governed by the paterfamilias, the male head who held absolute authority.
Culturally, the Romans were eclectic, absorbing and adapting elements from the civilizations they encountered, particularly the Greeks. Roman art, literature, and philosophy reflected this synthesis, creating a rich cultural tapestry. Latin, the Roman language, became the lingua franca of the Western world, influencing numerous modern languages.
Roman architecture and engineering achievements were monumental. They perfected the arch, vault, and dome, constructing enduring structures like the Colosseum, Pantheon, and aqueducts. These engineering marvels not only showcased Roman ingenuity but also served practical purposes, from public entertainment to water supply.

2024.06.01 Introducing a competency framework for languag learning materials ...Sandy Millin
http://sandymillin.wordpress.com/iateflwebinar2024
Published classroom materials form the basis of syllabuses, drive teacher professional development, and have a potentially huge influence on learners, teachers and education systems. All teachers also create their own materials, whether a few sentences on a blackboard, a highly-structured fully-realised online course, or anything in between. Despite this, the knowledge and skills needed to create effective language learning materials are rarely part of teacher training, and are mostly learnt by trial and error.
Knowledge and skills frameworks, generally called competency frameworks, for ELT teachers, trainers and managers have existed for a few years now. However, until I created one for my MA dissertation, there wasn’t one drawing together what we need to know and do to be able to effectively produce language learning materials.
This webinar will introduce you to my framework, highlighting the key competencies I identified from my research. It will also show how anybody involved in language teaching (any language, not just English!), teacher training, managing schools or developing language learning materials can benefit from using the framework.

2. HIS UPRISING AND PERSONALLY LIFE
Steve Jobs was born in 1955 in the heart of San
Francisco.
He met the other founder of Apple INC. (Steve
Wozniak) in the year 1973.
His idea for Apple was also that year, later opened
in 1976.
Exactly five years later he met his wife Lauren
Powell Jobs.
Sadly Steve passed in 2010, but his ideas and
inventions
will live on forever due to the amazing man he was.
3. THE APPLE ONE DESKTOP COMPUTER
Jobs and Wozniak released the Apple one in
mid 1976 and it was a big invention.
It was the first computer an average person
could have at home.
This made it insanely easy for people,
especially students to get research done.
4. “This is going to change the world as
we know it but Jobs is living in a
fantasy as well, he says he’s going to
make a computer that is portable.
Dream big Jobs, Dream Big.------ The
NY Times.
5. Steve Jobs released his
first IPod in the year 2001.
The IPod was very popular
for some, and then others
just stuck to there
Walkman's.
Steve Jobs was excited
about his latest invention.
“Children come up with
ideas, or at least I know I did
in my childhood. And here I
am holding it, with the world
watching me, this was my
childhood idea.”
THE I POD'S (TOUCH AND REGULAR)
6. THE MACBOOK LAPTOP
After about 10 more home computers Jobs released
his first laptop.
The date was May 16, 2006. “The feeling I had
when I finished the computer only a person can dream
off.”-----Steve Jobs Himself.
It shocked and amazed the world like humans
discovering aliens.
They were immediately sold, and I remember
waiting in line with my mom to buy one in
Downtown Boston.
7. DEATH DAY, A CRUEL DAY FOR APPLE
On October 5, 2011 Steve Jobs passed
away.
It was a tragedy for the jobs family, and
nobody new who the company was
going to.
Due to Ms. Jobs being in agony, Wozniak
had to address the press.
8. WHO GETS THE COMPANY?
With Steve passed it was up to Ms.
Jobs to handle the company.
Immediately without even thinking
she gave it to Wozniak, because he
was a trusted friend.
9. Steve released the IPod Touch five months after the iPhone first generation.
“When I released the IPod roughly six years from today, a man approached
me on the street. He said what's next a touch screen one of these and gave
me a pat on the back.”
Steve was a very happy man, but he did not know that three years from
that day he would be dead.
