Manager, Operations/Maintenance South Western Ontario
Responsible and accountable for all aspects of Maintenance and
Operations for Investor owned utility grade Solar Generation
Power Plants. Accountability included, but not limited to:
 Safety Management – Certified Safety Representative –
managed Safety Policies, Procedures, Training utilizing
Corporate Safety Management System. Plan and prepare
Emergency response plans for environmental incidents,
vandalism, Fire, etc. Review procedures, modify and approve
warranted changes. Lead a safety culture with zero incidents
as the goal and employees take ownership of all aspects of
safety.
 Annual Maintenance Planning – Directing planned work
activities based on historical metrics and best practices.
Formulate a five year maintenance plan utilizing a
computerized maintenance management system. Oversee
the planner/scheduler position to insure proper
maintenance practices/procedure compliance.
 Customer relations – Act as corporate representative for all
customer relations, responding to needs and/or queries
regarding operations, budgetary items, special projects,
property or plant maintenance and operations. Represent
customer during interactions with vendors, government
agencies as required.
 Plant Performance Metrics – Accountable for all monthly
customers reports that include such factors as energy
output, irradiance, weather, maintenance costs, completed
and planned maintenance, Safety reports of incidents,
budget status. Detail quality concerns with reports to QA
department for resolution.
 Employee Training – Maintain Employee training (corporate
and legislative) safety, maintenance qualifications, CMMS
(Maximo, EZMax). Review training matrix and update as new
techniques and technology expand knowledge base. Includes
oversight of equipment maintenance as well.
 Employee hiring – Interview new candidates for available
positions – both permanent and occasional (i.e. students)
Make recommendations for personnel based on forecasted
work load. Terminate employment when required. Hold
quarterly and annual employee performance reviews,
Recommend wage adjustments, bonuses, promotions. Set
employee goals and objectives based on corporate goals.
 Financial responsibility – Accountable for all Financials
regarding Canadian business – monthly accruals – customer
invoicing – PO approvals - annual budget planning, actuals vs
approved budget. Forecast vendor /contractor costs.
Recommend/approve new equipment purchases
 Utility Relations – Coordinate with local utility for planned
work requiring utility assistance. Coordinate outage
response.
 Compliance and Regulatory management – insure company
is operating in compliance with all applicable local, Provincial
and Federal regulations. i.e. MOE, MOL
 Contractual compliance management – Negotiate, approve
and implement vendor/contractor contracts according to
Corporate scope of authority. Monitor vendors/contractor
for contractual compliance.
 Commissioning of new plants/infrastructure – Work with
Project manager to coordinate commissioning of new plants,
review progress reports, report to owner/customer, train
employees, Prepare and implement turnover package,
includes resolution of punch lists, prepare to assume full
operation and maintenance activities of completed plant.
Commission new infrastructure implemented as a result of
equipment repairs/upgrades.

Power System Electrician
This is a field position which I was responsible for the testing and
maintenance of Sub-station high and medium power equipment. Such
equipment includes station transformer, motor operated switches,
breakers, battery systems, SCADA system.
1989 – 2009 EnWin Utilities Windsor, ON
Supervisor, System Automation & Maintenance
In this position I was responsible for all maintenance of all EnWin
owned Substations and Automation equipment (SCADA) as well as
supervise the activities of the Transformer Test and Repair Dept. I also
developed and maintained the operating and maintenance budgets for
two departments. Some of my duties include: Develop and implement a
maintenance schedule, record & report equipment problems and
provide solutions to maintain electrical distribution systems,
Troubleshoot electrical protection systems for the purpose of
protecting electrical equipment, provide mentorship to Apprentices and
oversee their training. Follows standard safety procedures and
prepares isolation procedures as required. Utilize and further
develop Training Manuals and Standard Operating Procedures,
Participate in Safety Meetings and follow up on assigned items. Follow
safe work procedures and ensure all personnel comply

Field Service Representative
Service and maintain power system equipment in a profit based
center. Develop quotes, plan work and follow through with
documentation and reports. Issue billing information for invoicing.

Journeyman Substation Maintenance/Protection & Controls
Maintain all functions and equipment of all W.U.C. substations as
directed by the Substation Foreperson. This includes all Protection and
Control functions, system automation and all Health and Safety Rules
associated with the Utility.
