CARREER SUMMARY
March 2015 – Current: Bexar County Department of Public Works (Main office)
Key Roles: Office Assistant IV. The department of Public Works is responsible for developing, and maintaining
County roads, land, bridges, vehicles, and warranting environmental compliance for the citizens of Bexar County. As an
OAIV, my primary responsibilities are to maintain the budget for multiple vendor accounts which the department utilizes
on a daily basis, and to process PO’s unto completion. This includes generating PO’s, tracking inventory or services
received, and submitting all documentation to the Bexar County auditor’s office for payment. I also ensure that
purchases are approved, and reported accordingly to stay within allotted budget, and to aid in next year’s budget
preparations. Simultaneously, I work with multiple Bexar County Service Centers on strict deadlines to manage
employee timesheets for payroll processing. Using multiple databases, I audit, and input employee timesheets, and
monitor vacation, comp, personal, and sick leave. I also assist with processing new hires, and maintain confidential
personnel files. In addition to HR responsibilities, I assist the department with contract preparations, and follow up, to
include obtaining signatures from the Bexar County Manager, Bexar County Auditor, and Civil District Attorney’s. I am
also responsible for making daily cash deposits to the Bexar County’s treasury office, and performing other duties as
assigned.
November 2010 – January 2015: Innovative Communication Systems (Corporate Office)
Key Roles: Sales Assistant to C.E.O. and Account Executives. ICS is a growing leader in the business
communications industry. My job and duties were to utilize the needs of our clients by supporting our sales team and
acting as a liaison between Account Executives and customers. As the Sales Assistant, I was responsible for preparing
sales quotes, and proposal binders, obtaining customer signatures, coordinating project installs with our service
department, and tracking sales commissions for four ICS offices to include San Antonio, Austin, Houston and Pharr,
Texas. I also maintained a variety of administrative responsibilities, and played a key role in supporting the corporate
office, and remote offices.
2. August 2009 – January 2010: Bexar County Department of Community Resources (Temporary)
Key Roles: Office Assistant IV. The Department of Community Resources leverages federal, state, and local resources
in order to ensure that Bexar County residents may improve their quality of life. As an Office Assistant IV I worked for
the Utility Assistance Program which offered limited assistance for electric and natural gas bills to residents of Bexar
County who fell within 125% of the poverty income guidelines. It was my job to generate and monitor the daily intake
schedules for multiple social workers, determine client eligibility, respond to client inquiries, research client complaints,
batched and submit payments to CPS, obtain contract signatures from Executive Directors affiliated with various
nonprofit organizations, prepare and maintain financial reports and monitor grant budgets. I also performed
administrative tasks such as data entry and assisted with managing the front office when needed.
January 2006 – July 2008: Medlaw Consulting Group
Key Roles: Accounts Manager. Medlaw Consulting Group specializes in providing business solutions to the medical
community. During my tenure with Medlaw, I provided administrative support to the C.E.O. and C.F.O and assisted
with paralegal duties. I transcribed legal documents, proofread pleadings, assembled deposition trial binders and filed
legal documents at the courthouse. I coordinated, and scheduled meetings for the C.E.O. and C.F.O., transcribed the
minutes, drafted office memoranda, audited employee files to ensure state certifications were current, generated and
distributed payroll, generated invoices, collected on pass due invoices, posted daily bank deposits, managed the petty
cash, submitted quarterly wage reports to the Texas Workforce Commission, and assisted the C.F.O. with generating
employee W2’s for end of year income taxes.
May 2003 – November 2005: Great America Electric
Key Roles: Office Assistant. Great America Electric performs electrical installations and provides service for both
residential and commercial customers to also include government funded projects. I assisted the Office Manager with
varied responsibilities such as accounts payable, and accounts receivable. I generated employee payroll, answered
incoming calls, and made outbound calls to solicit work. I was also responsible for dispatching electricians, and work
order distribution. I requested electrical building permits, completed and submitted permit applications to the City of
San Antonio, and called in inspection requests unto completion.
