Responsibilities
As a receptionist I was responsible for answering incoming calls to the office. This resulted in making the
patient the necessary appointment and / or taking an accurate message for the physician and nurse . It was
my responsibility to make sure the patients personal and insurance information, that the clinic had on file was
up to date and accurate . As a receptionist it was my responsibility to make sure the patients chart was in
office and available for the appointment .
Accomplishments
I started out working for a group of four internist. I then became a float receptionist where I learned the routines
and procedures in all the offices, so that I could fill in and help each office if another receptionist was out of
the office . Eventually I was asked to stay and work for the surgery department on a full time basis .

As the front line of communication between the doctor and the patient , it was very important that I be
compassionate , friendly and professional at all times . I am a very efficient multi-tasker . This was a skill that I
have used in all my places of employment . I am proficient in the use of multi line phone systems , computers ,
fax , copier and 10 key. It was my responsibility to collect ant co payments due at the time of the visit and
balance and account for the funds at the end of the day.
