•The background provides the context of a study and
establishes its significance. It introduces the

of an issue, a condition, or a situation that is going
to be studied. It helps clearly identify the purpose of
a project by highlighting the gap between an ideal
situation and the reality, and why it is important to
bridge that gap.
BENEFICIARIES
•Beneficiaries are those who are likely to be
interested in or to benefit from the proposed
research. List any beneficiaries from the research
and give details of how the results of the
proposed research would be disseminated.
APA FORMAT
•These references are listed in alphabetical
order by the author's last name. An APA in-
text citation includes only three items: the
last name(s) of the author(s), the year the
source was published, and sometimes the
page or location of the information.
MLA FORMAT
•A standard MLA Works Cited entry is
structured as follows: Author. “Title of the
Source.” Title of the Container, Other
contributors, Version, Number, Publisher,
Publication date, Location. Only include
information that is available for and relevant
to your source.
