3. INTRODUCTION
• STELLA is a software package that allows the user to simulate systems without the
use of any advanced programming language.
• STELLA stands for Systems Thinking Experimental Learning Laboratory with
Animation.
• STELLA provides a visual representation of the differential equation (or coupled
differential equations) that describes the problem of interest, and then solves it
numerically.
• STELLA can produce graphs and tables of data for any system modeled in the
diagram.
7. APPLICATION OF SIMULATION
MANUFACTURING
• This technique represents a
valuable tool used by engineers
when evaluating the effect of
capital investment in equipment
and physical facilities like factory
plants, warehouses, and
distribution centers.
• Simulation can be used to predict
the performance of an existing or
planned system and to compare
alternative solutions for a
particular design problem.
MANAGEMENT
• The analytical techniques used in
inventory management are not
sufficient to tackle all the
important managerial problems
requiring data analysis.
• The use of simulation enables a
manager to provide an insight into
certain managerial problems
where analytical solution of a
model is not possible or where the
actual environment is difficult to
observe
8. BUSINESS
• Most business modeling being carried
out today relies on the use of
spreadsheets or project management
software
• Although such tools are useful and
applicable in many cases, they
generally do not have the ability to
represent the complex dynamics and
uncertainties present in real world
business systems.
• By combining the flexibility of a
general-purpose and highly-graphical
probabilistic simulation framework
with specialized features to support
financial modeling, reliability analysis
and optimization will carry out risk
analyses, evaluate alternative policies
and strategies, and make better, more
defensible decisions.
DESIGN
• Evaluating designs for service
organizations such as hospitals, post
offices, or fast-food restaurants is one
of the application of simulation
• The main reason why simulation is
used in these and other practical areas
of applications are that it can be used
to estimate unknown probabilities,
distributions and expectations.
9. CONCLUSION
• Stella software makes the learning and our work in daily life more
easier, more interesting and meaningful.
• In learning process, this is one of the application that will attract
student in learning many subject that required critical thinking and
the relationship between each other especially in science subject.
• Teaching with Stella software will help us to focus more on the
learning objectives, thus it makes students easily understand the
learning outcomes from the topic that have been teached.
