This is a talk presented at a one-day seminar on Administrative Statistics in Bhubaneswar, Odisha on the occasion of National Statistics Day celebrating the birthday of Professor PC Mahalanobis. The talk began with Professor Mahalanobis estimation of population inside Red Fort without being able to do any survey by making use of total quantity supplied and expert's opinion on average consumption required per person and compared the population from salt to other items to arrive at wrong doings by the authorities concerned. It also touched upon the problem of reporducibility in academia and on the importance of quality. Echoing the sentiments of Barry Nussbaum (President, American Statistical Association) it ended by stating that quality matters, Statistician matters, and engagement with audience matters.
