• Born on 19th july 1953.
• Education from Northern
Michigan University.
• Worked as sales manager for 3
years at xerox company.
• Worked for a swedish home
appliance company.
MOTIVATION
• The way Starbucks works motivated Howard to join the
business of coffee selling.
• His idea was to bring the Italian coffee house tradition back to
the United States
• He motivated the CEO’s of Starbucks to open more store .
• He found great potential in this business.
• He brought recipes from Milan and sales tripled next year.
• In 1987 the CEO’s stepped down and Howard became the new
CEO.
• He was fascinated by the local coffee shops in Italy .
MOTIVATION
• He wanted Starbucks to be a socializing people.
• He wanted to change the mindset of Americans for
coffee.
• He made sure the marketing team makes
advertisements realistic.
• He offered a democratic coffee house(self-service)
• No refreshing drinks offered by Starbucks lessened
their sales.
• In 1995 Frappuccino's added to the menu.
