The study examined factors that predict quality of life among 282 Canadian emerging adults aged 17-25. Participants completed questionnaires assessing temperament, values, social support, and quality of life. Results showed that higher social belongingness and effortful control, and more positive attitudes predicted greater quality of life. A regression analysis found that sense of belonging was the strongest predictor of quality of life, explaining over 30% of the variance. The findings suggest that social connections contribute significantly to well-being during emerging adulthood.
