Differences Between “May I?” and “Can I?”
“May I?”
●   What does it exactly mean?
       –   Asking permission.
       –   “Is it OK?”
              ●   “May I help you?”
              ●   “May I take your coat?”
              ●   “May I get you a drink?”
              ●   “May I have some water?”
              ●   “May you be safe.” [old]
“Can I?”
●   What does it exactly mean?
       –   To be able to.
       –   Ability
              ●   “Can I leave now?”
              ●   “Can they see me?”
              ●   “Can he get here in 10 minutes?”
              ●   “Can you hear me?”
              ●   “He can swim. ”
Differences
