International Conference EMotional INtelligence 2013 (New York City)EDGAR BRESO
This document presents a new mobile-based method called MEIT for assessing emotional perception as a component of emotional intelligence. MEIT takes advantage of mobile devices' capabilities by providing a more dynamic testing experience that considers time as a variable. It aims to address issues with current surveys by directly assessing expressed emotions rather than elicited emotions. MEIT is still under development and the authors are seeking feedback to improve it.
This document discusses proposals for improving emotional intelligence (EI) assessments. It summarizes research evaluating different EI assessment methods and findings that the ability to perceive emotions from pictures may not adequately capture EI. It speculates that pictures are too artificial and people are unused to assessing emotions from static images. It concludes that a new assessment is needed for the perception branch of EI and that interventions could focus solely on emotion management rather than all branches. It proposes that future assessments control time limits and allow changing answers to feel less artificial and more dynamic.

It has a mission of improving worker comfort and protecting people from hazards. It is structured into specialized divisions that focus on different market segments, including safety equipment, resellers, and safety consulting. Vandeputte Group has offices in multiple European countries, over 200 employees, and growing annual turnover. It focuses on quality management, human resources, and strategic collaboration with Z-Group to provide a unique safety offering.
Jazmin Monique Bailey is a graduating senior at Michigan State University studying broadcast journalism. She has interned at several local news stations and currently works as a producer at WILX-TV in Lansing. While she has some experience producing online content for news websites, her experience with other online tools and formats is limited. She hopes this class will help her learn new skills like geotagging that could lead to new career opportunities or allow her to start a blog.
The engineering design process involves defining an environmental problem, researching potential issues, brainstorming solutions, choosing one topic to focus on, building a plan to address the chosen topic, testing the plan with feedback, communicating the plan to others, and redesigning based on received feedback. This team defined air pollution from vehicles as their problem, researched the issue, developed a plan presented on their website and display, received feedback from teachers, and then redesign their project based on that advice.
The engineering design process document outlines the steps taken to research and create a website about a chosen country: define the topics to research; research the economy, education, government, culture; brainstorm project ideas to display the information; choose PowerPoint, brochure, poster and Sketchfu projects; build the products using the research; test the products against criteria; communicate the projects to teachers; and redesign based on teacher feedback.
