Какво означава „обществена библиотека”?
Обществената библиотека е организация, която е създадена, подкрепяна и финансирана от обществото чрез местната, регионалната или националната власт или чрез някаква друга обществена организационна форма. Тя осигурява достъп до знание, информация, учене през целия живот и творби на въображението чрез разнообразие на ресурси и услуги и е общодостъпна за всички членове на обществото независимо от техните раса, националност, възраст, пол, религия, език, специални потребности, икономически или трудов статус и образователно ниво.
The Librar-e Turkey Project is a 28-month pilot project involving 26 provinces and 52 district libraries across Turkey. It aims to promote public libraries and librarianship in Turkey.
