フェルメールなど有名な画家も使用→光の表現を豊かに描画

人々はアスファルト，銀を感光材料として光を記録をする

タルボットは景色を永久に残す方法を研究
感光紙を用いて，焼き付けに成功した画像

初期の手持ちカメラ(Kodak社)

感度の向上→シャッターの機能が増える
紙のフィルム→セルロイドに代わる

1975年
入社2年，24歳のスティーブ・サッソンが発明
しかしコダックはフィルムカメラの業績が好調→デジタルカメラに対して冷たい
