Model-Driven Physical-Design for Future Nanoscale ArchitecturesCiprian Teodorov
This document discusses model-driven physical design approaches for future nanoscale architectures. It proposes a generic physical design framework based on a common structural domain model. This model-based approach aims to maximize tool reuse across different nanoscale technologies. It also separates algorithmic and architectural concerns by modeling tools as model transformations. An example nanoscale architecture template called R2D NASIC is developed using this framework and evaluated. Results show improvements in density, performance and max throughput pipelines compared to a baseline. Overall, the model-driven approach seeks to provide a common vocabulary and design flow for tackling challenges in physical design for emerging nanotechnologies.
Jarodzka A Vector Based, Multidimensional Scanpath Similarity MeasureKalle
A great need exists in many fields of eye-tracking research for a robust and general method for scanpath comparisons. Current measures either quantize scanpaths in space (string editing measures like the Levenshtein distance) or in time (measures based on attention maps). This paper proposes a new pairwise scanpath similarity measure. Unlike previous measures that either use AOI sequences or forgo temporal order, the new measure defines scanpaths as a series of geometric vectors and compares temporally aligned scanpaths across several dimensions: shape, fixation position, length, direction, and fixation duration. This approach offers more multifaceted insights to how similar two scanpaths are. Eight fictitious scanpath pairs are tested to elucidate the strengths of the new measure, both in itself and compared to two of the currently most popular measures - the Levenshtein distance and attention map correlation.
The document discusses the progression of economic value from commodities to experiences. It outlines how businesses have moved from extracting commodities to delivering goods and services, and now focus on creating experiences. It also provides principles for businesses to authentically stage experiences, including giving workers roles to play, characterizing those roles, and enacting dramatic structure. Finally, it discusses the need for businesses to be true to themselves and what they say they are in order to render authentic experiences.
Moshnyaga The Use Of Eye Tracking For Pc Energy ManagementKalle
This paper discusses a new application of eye-tracking, namely power management, and outlines its implementation in personal computer system. Unlike existing power management technology, which “senses” a PC user through keyboard and/or mouse, our technology “watches” the user through a single camera. The technology tracks the user’s eyes keeping the display active only if the user looks at the screen. Otherwise it dims the display down or even switches it off to save energy. We implemented the technology in hardware and present the results of its experimental evaluation.
This paper examines single gaze gestures (SGGs) as a selection method for gaze-controlled interfaces. SGGs involve making a single point-to-point eye movement between two on-screen locations. The study evaluated horizontal and vertical, long and short SGGs on two eye tracking devices. It found that long SGGs took significantly longer to complete than short SGGs. Horizontal SGGs were also completed significantly faster than vertical SGGs. However, there was no significant difference in error rates between horizontal and vertical SGGs. The study provides evidence that SGGs can be an effective selection technique, with properties like selection time varying based on gesture length and direction.
1) The document discusses how cultural differences influence communication and negotiation strategies between low-context (LC) and high-context (HC) cultures. LC cultures prefer direct communication while HC cultures rely more on implied meanings.
2) It analyzes how the use of persuasive arguments versus threats as influence strategies are more effective depending on whether negotiating with LC or HC representatives. Persuasive arguments work better with LC cultures while HC cultures may respond more to threats.
3) Cultural influences must be considered especially in crisis negotiations, as representatives are more likely to rely on natural behaviors shaped by their own cultures. No culture is entirely LC or HC, and individuals within a culture can also have varying styles.

This document discusses using mail merge in Microsoft Word. It provides steps to perform a mail merge, including selecting the mail merge wizard, inserting a data source and merge fields, and printing the output. Mail merge allows creating personalized documents quickly from a main document and customer list, but should be used carefully to avoid issues like junk mail, environmental waste, or lack of sensitivity.
This very short document does not contain any meaningful information to summarize in 3 sentences or less. It includes an unintelligible word and ellipses, providing no context or content that could be condensed into a high-level summary.
This document provides an overview and agenda for Amazon Web Services (AWS). It discusses Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) and Platform as a Service (PaaS) models and then summarizes several key AWS services - Elastic Compute Cloud (EC2) for virtual machines, Relational Database Service (RDS) for databases, Simple Storage Service (S3) for cloud storage, CloudFront for content delivery, CloudFormation for infrastructure automation, and Elastic Beanstalk for application deployment and management. The presentation aims to demonstrate tools for accessing and using AWS services.
