The Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE) formed in 1976 in Sri Lanka with the goal of establishing an independent Tamil state in northern and eastern Sri Lanka through violence and terrorist acts. Led by Velupillai Prabhakaran, the LTTE used explosives and illegal weapons to attack civilian and military targets, causing terror in Sri Lanka for over 25 years. In 2009, the Sri Lankan military defeated the LTTE, killing Prabhakaran and regaining control of the northern districts for the first time in decades.

Mali peacekeeping mission
The Mali peacekeeping mission (MINUSMA) aims to stabilize Mali after conflict between rebel groups and the government. MINUSMA has over 9,000 uniformed personnel to protect civilians, support political processes, and help establish state authority. While security has improved since French intervention against rebels, violent incidents still occur and armed groups remain active. MINUSMA works to restore stability and facilitate a peaceful transition, but challenges securing lasting peace remain.
LTTE Terrorist Attacks in Sri Lanka
The document lists numerous atrocities committed by the LTTE against civilians in Sri Lanka between 1984 and 2000, including targeted killings, bombings, and massacres that resulted in the deaths of thousands of innocent people. Their efforts were critical in responding to the heavy rains and minimizing damage.

Sri lankan civil war

Disagreements over language policies and ethnic riots in the 1950s exacerbated tensions. Armed militant groups formed among Tamils in the 1970s, with the LTTE emerging as the dominant group. Fighting escalated into a civil war in the 1980s. Repeated ceasefires and peace talks failed to end the conflict, which was marked by brutal violence and human rights abuses committed by both sides over the following decades. The civil war ultimately ended in 2009 with the military defeat of the LTTE by government forces.

An issue that remains to this day is one that remains with most ethnic groups, discrimination. Poor relationships with the Native Americans even after AIM first started many years ago there still is racism and discrimination just like with other ethnic groups such as African Americans and many others. The United States is terrible about racism, and in my opinion, this should stop so that we can all live peacefully among each other and stop hating others over something that has happened centuries ago.

- 9. Group Recommendation: We think that the two sides should communicate to resolve their problems instead of using violent methods. They should invite the UN to help them with monitoring the LTTE and the Sri Lankan Government.
