Urban Agriculture Australia proposes to deliver an exploratory pathway display that demonstrates how healthy food can be grown in different urban settings along with creative, interactive, and educational opportunities to engage visitors. The multi-faceted display will include demonstration garden beds - such as an urban deck, balcony, verge and average sized yard - showing nutrient dense food grown using sustainable technologies and opportunities. It will not only provide practical solutions for urban agriculture but also educate a new generation of urban agriculturalists to utilize city landscapes - backyards, vacant lots, parks, and roofs - to grow food. This proposal is highly supported by collaborating groups promoting sustainable food production and community resilience.
