The Petrel 2016.2 release introduces a new Spectral Analysis Tool (SAT) that allows for rapid and intuitive seismic frequency analysis. SAT enables detailed spectral analysis of 2D and 3D seismic data, attributes, and volumes. It supports visualizing the frequency spectrum of arbitrary polylines, crop volumes, and uses fast Fourier transforms to calculate frequency power spectra. SAT is useful for seismic interpretation, attribute analysis, and quantitative workflows.
