I choose to make my carrierin fashion designingbecause
WhenI was studying in school , several cultural activitieswere
Organized, I used to participate in every activity and I found
myself very creative and innovative . Time by time my interest
was increased and having so many thoughts that how can I
brought my imagination into the real life. To enhance my skill
fashion designing was the correct option. After learning all the
basics of designing I came to know about elements and
principles, how shapes and forms are created, how one can
observe , think, create and bring it into reality. I want to
became a renowned fashion designer . My unique feature is I
more focus on minimal designing as simple and elegant with the
mixture of todays trend and my touch. I thank Dezyne E‘cole
College for developing these aesthetics and values in me . I want
to learn more in the field of fashion design to excel my design
skills.

• As the years went by the 4 brothers got more
involved with the European tourists that began to
arrive every year to Pushkar to make and buy locally
manufactured garments. The 4 brothers who
enjoyed the company of the colorful tourists that
visited their shop in the market, became more and
more professional in the clothing business. In the
first years all parcels were sent by the postal service
and in 1989 ,
• LILA SHYAM became the first overseas exporters in
Pushkar.
• The years went by and one shop become two, and
then another, and finally a small factory still situated
near the Brahma Temple in town. Today the 4
brothers are succeeded by the younger generation
who grew up into this colorful exciting business.
• In 2012 the company moved into their new modern
Factory with more then 500 employees under one
roof.
• The LILA SHYAM company has customers from all
corners of the world, who return year after year to
enjoy and work in the professional and friendly
environment created by the LILA SHYAM Family and
Staff.
• Here we have learned all the process of
manufacturing of the garment in export houses and
also learned how team work has been done by all
the departments

Collection-2019
A collection is the range of garments, or A grouping of outfits or look that are presented in variety of
ways . They are designed and produced for sale to retailers or direct to customers . This range of
pieces may be inspired by designed for A season or particular occasion, trend, theme or design
direction reflecting cultural and social influences.
Collection are usually constructed from A combination of silhouettes , colours and fabrics, with the
emphasis varying depending on the designers particular aesthetic.
A collection requires an enormous amount of research, investigation and planning. Successful
designers and manufacturers and retailers have A clear understanding of their customers needs as
well as understanding their position in highly competitive market. But as A student I am going to
take an imaginary hypothetical client.
In order to gain an understanding of current fashion stock and ranges across market levels ,many
designers conduct ‘comp shop’. This term refers to comparing stock in competitors retail, outlets
and the market levels. Quality of fabric and construction and detailing were carefully studied along
side prices and origin of manufactures.
What Is Collection And How It’s Made?
What Is Collection And How It’s Made?
By careful investigation and competitors analysis. Designers can begin to identify a specific market
area and customers for fashion vision When developing a collection with a staff team the designer
will begin by explaining the overall look and theme of collection. A key part of designers role is
sourcing fabric and premier vision is the most famous in fashion fabrics trend exhibitions and
manufacturers across the world.
As fashion has evolved information source are now widely available online, the trend forecasting
industry has responded to provide a wide range of product.
The development process is cycling and dependent upon a number of team members and
specialist activities. The team will usually consist of a designers , a pattern cutter , sample cutter,
sample machinist and costing production managers . There may also be the people who specialize
in sourcing fabric and trims, print designers and graphic designers.
This provide information that is useful when planning and selling a fashion collection.
Conceptual Influences
The Origins Of Contemporary, Conceptual Fashion( Less Is More) May Well Be Credited
To The Japanese Designer Rei Kawakubo, Yohji Yamamoto And Issey Miyake. For Decades,
These Designers Have Been Producing The Most Intriguing , Provocative Fashion By
Creative Ney Ways Of Cutting And Construction. Conceptual Fashion Are Often Timeless,
Beautiful, Ageless, Abstract, Or Unrelating In Identity And Dislocated From Most Visual
Narratives.
Forms And Function
Functional Garment, Such As Military Wear And Expedition Clothing, Have Long
Influenced Fashion Designers.
Workwear
The Origin Of This Source And Aesthetic Is Arguably Levis Strauss, Who In The Late
1800s Created The First Work Overalls Using Twill Cotton From Nimes , In France. This
Twill Cotton Denim Has Been Popularized By Nearly Every Well Known Designer And
An Infinite Number Of Manufacture Across The World.
Sports Wear
In The Early 1980s American Designer Norma Kamali Launched A Fashion Business
Celebrating The Use Of Traditional Sweats shirting As On Fashion Fabric
Fashion Influences
Futuristic Influences
The futuristic influence is a space age fashion , which referenced science fiction than
historical and traditional sources . Futuristic fashion can be obvious in its presentation (such as
space age cloths).
Archivism Influences
Archivism refers to the way in which designers look back to previous collection for
inspiration .
Global Influences
The designer eves saint Laurent first showed Moroccan jell in the 1970s, designers and fashion
consumers have understood the value and attraction of exotic, unusual garments, fabric and
accessories .designers play with juxtaposition, colour or multicultural references; garments such
as Scottish kilt, Indian sari, Chinese cheongsam and Japanese kimono has been continuously
redefined the collection
Moroccan Jellahbah
1970
Political Influences
Fashion reflects society and designers will often reference political change in their
collection. Message through the clothes that we wear can be subversive or can be bold
statement to create a reaction.
Fashion Influences
Design a range of 4 designs for young girl of age 15-25 years . Design should be in current
trend and garments created must use have various elements and texture.
You are required to produce 4 design in full colour and all designs should ne illustrated as
working drawings . Consideration should be given to design – including construction as well
as surface interest of 3 dimensional Garment ( show back and front view- obligatory, and side
view if necessary.
Develop your design idea with due consideration of medio use and present the ideas for
your portfolio they may be of any shape or size as long as they fit into an A4 portfolio and
should all be created using various medias like photoshop , Corel draw, illustrator .
Suggested Areas Of Consideration:
▪ Silhouette
▪ Fabrication
▪ Patterntextures
▪ Graphics
▪ Presentation
▪ Colours
▪ Fashion direction
Case Study
MUSE is a person or personality force who is the
source of inspiration for a creative artist.
So as student I’m choosing my muse to make my
design alive, She is a college going girl , she is confident ,
bold, loving and some times wants to spent some time
alone. By keeping all the hypothetical situation I'm going
to design my out fit for the collection .

Market Research
In order to gain an understanding of current fashion trend and ranges across market levels many designers
conduct “ ”.
But at this level as a student I have the area to go through all the brands, retail outlets, online website of fashion
stores , magazines newspaper articles and blogs which help me out to gain all the information about current
market .
Women's fashion change quicker then men's and children's . Style and colour alter considerably from season
to season, especially in the mass market. The case which I have been given in that I have to choose the
for my design.
HAUTE COUTURE PRET-A-POTER
Haute couture houses are the
major fashion houses of the
world, rum by recognised,
internationally famous designer.
PRET-A-POTER the term also

Garment Cost
According to the case study I have chosen mass market, so by keeping this into mind I have to
make garment economical .
How much does it cost to make
a garment is something you
have to know before you get too
far in the process?
While Analysing , I Got Certain Points:
➢ One should be realistic while designing the out fit, that the imagination could be brought
up into real world.
➢ The fabrics, trims and fastening and all the surface ornamentation should realism within
the chosen market.
➢ Cost of the outfit should be economical according to mass market.
➢ Using expensive fabric and many styling details often makes the finished cost of the
garment too high for the market which has been targeted.

Fabric has been an integral part of design . It
serves variety of purposes because it is such a
flexible medium. Clothes can be wrapped
tightly or draped loosely , woven to one shape
and knitted to stretch and conform to
changing shapes.
✓ Fabric serves practical functions
✓ Fabric communicate messages and ideas
✓ Fabric has value
✓ Fabric depends upon technology
✓ Which fabric and why?
✓ As it is very important to choose correct
fabric according to design as well as
climatic aspects also and appropriate fabric
brings unique definition to outfit .
Swatch Board
Fabric
After having all the knowledge about trend ,client needs and market level and
research .
I moved forward towards the next step – fabrication. As fabric plays important
role in designing any outfit. The time when I was visiting places in search of
fabric, I had heard about the hosiery factory near by my house. I visited there
for seeing the material for the further step of making my collection.
There were 4 rooms , in first room master ji
Was sitting who was cutting the fabric
according to individuals measurement's . 2nd
room was the stitching room where 3-4
persons where stitching the material and the
3rd room was fabric material room, where master ji took me. There
I saw variety of hosiery fabrics and there were also some section of
cloths in which waste scrap material was kept .
I asked master ji that what will he do from these waste fabrics . He said either they will
discard it or burn it , or dumped it into the garbage and garbage
picker will take all the waste. Then instantly a thought came into my
mind that what if I use those waste material in making of my outfit.
Rather then troughing them all should not I use it? This thought
lead me to upcycle and sustainable fashion. Now I was just imagining
How to design my collection from those waste left over fabric pieces
and bringing up my design into latest trend. That’s how I thought
waste can also be taken into trend.
FOR FABRICATION I VISITED NEAR BY HOSIERY FACTORY
AFTER THAT I RESEARCHED ABOUT UPCYCLED CLOTHING , SUSTAINABLE
FASHION AND TEXTILE WASTES.
From this research I come across so many issues on textile production and consumption. Textile industry is
among the most essential consumer goods industry. However textile industry is also accused of being one of
the most polluting industry. Not only production but consumption of textile also produces waste. Yet fast
fashion leaves a pollution footprints with each step of the clothing life cycle generating potential
environmental and occupational hazards.
TEXTILE
SUSTAINABLE FASHION
Sustainable fashion is thus partly about producing clothes, shoes and
accessories in environmentally and socio-economically sustainable manners,
but also about more sustainable patterns of consumption and use, which
necessitate shifts in individual attitudes and behavior
UPCYCLED FASHION
Upcycling, also known as creative reuse,
is the process of transforming by-products, waste materials, useless, or
unwanted products into new materials or products of better quality or for
better environmental value.
Most recycling involves converting or extracting
useful materials from A product and creating A
different product or material.

DESIGN
The formula to create good designs must incorporate a harmonious combination of
all the designs elements and principles . Design is the plan used to put an idea
together, the process of designing in selecting and combining of the design elements
according to the principles of design in order to achieve harmony.
When idea related to the
design comes into the mind
its hard to visualize that
immediately, To make it real
within minutes a designer
needs presentation
techniques.
Illustration is the best way to
present the idea on the sheet.
Brain storming helps me
to ideate me through which
I put my ideas on to

further
it helps me to what garment i

PROCESS OF MAKING
The waste fabric which I brought up from hosiery factory.
I select some pieces to make to design my outfit.
From those pieces I cut stripes and
arranged the stripes in repetition from
which I had made yoke.
After making of yoke ,I was seeing that
what contrasting material I can use for the
base of yoke
WASTE ISN’T WASTE UNTIL WE WASTE IT
A design is not considered as a good design without the use of elements and principles , these
are important to be used to make it completely wearable . I have used following principle in
my design.

Design explanation ( Extrovert)
the color of passion and drama. This color attracts the
most attention and is associated with strong emotions
It symbolizes trust, loyalty, wisdom, confidence,
intelligence.
A strong and powerful color, black is formal and
sophisticated,, yet still refined, elegant and confident.
Black is helpful to other colors, being a strong contrast
and making them stand out more.
Grey would not be considered a glamorous color,
yet is still elegant.
Why I used these colors?
Color affects how you feel ! As all the five colors which I had explained above
are related with the traits and qualities of an extrovert.

BOHO CHICK LOOK
Boho-chic is a style of fashion drawing on various bohemian and hippie influences.
A key ingredient in Boho Chic style is comfort . A style of dress inspired by the
lifestyle of free spirits.
The second mood which was generated was THE INTROVERSION PERSONALITY
▪ Introvert personality traits focus more on their inner feeling.
▪ Introverts are fearless , shy , modest, motivational, emotional, confident.
▪ Introverts tend to be more quiet, reserved, independent and introspective.
Introverts also like to adventure but mostly they like to travel alone as they are
reserved. They mostly preferred calm , soothing and pestles colours , so keeping
this into mind I took pale yellow colour and blue colour.

PROCESS OF MAKING
As I took layered outfit look from the boho chic . for making of jacket I
had collect some old denim garments and fabrics
As I inspired from the upcycled fashion I will going to use old
fabric and recreate it in some thing new
I deconstructed the old shirt , I cut it into 3 pieces for reconstruct it into jacket
• Removed collar
• Separated the front and back part
• Remove pockets because they were not
proportionate to the size of jacket
• As I the jacket length is short waisted

Promotion Technique
I Have Selected Title Persona For My Collection Because Persona Comes From
The Word Personality , As The Mood Of My Collection Was Having Several
Feeling And All The Feelings Were Classified Into Two Personality Traits Which
Are The INTROVERTS And The EXTROVERTS. Extraversion Tends To Be
Manifested In Outgoing, Talkative, Energetic Behavior, Whereas Introversion Is
Manifested In More Reserved And Solitary Behavior. As Keeping This Into Mind I
Designed My Both The Outfits .The Garments Relates To Personality So I
Designed The Outfit From The Moods Of Colors . The 1st Garment Relates To
Extroverts And The 2nd Garment Relates To Introverts As Well As With The Look
Of Bohemian Style And The Inspiration Upcycling.
This is my another creation in which I got inspired by button
masala. The technique to make functional clothing out of
fabric, buttons and rubber bands.
THIS TECHNIQUE IS ECO-FRIENDLY AS WELL AS
SUSTAINABLE FASHION
✓ The sustainability in this technique is that ,
one can easily remove the buttons without
damaging the fabric .
✓ The fabric can be used again and again for
the new ideas.
✓ Its possible to make multiple designs with just
one piece of fabric.
THESE ARE THE SOME OF THE DESIGN WHICH I HAVE CREATED WITH THIS
TECHNIQUE
As my inspiration was upcycled
fashion and I found this amazing
technique which is sustainable as well
as fashionable. I thought why should
the waste fabric always got up for the
upcycling! Lets try something which is
new as will as sustainable and cheaper.

  • 2. I choose to make my carrierin fashion designingbecause WhenI was studying in school , several cultural activitieswere Organized, I used to participate in every activity and I found myself very creative and innovative . Time by time my interest was increased and having so many thoughts that how can I brought my imagination into the real life. To enhance my skill fashion designing was the correct option. After learning all the basics of designing I came to know about elements and principles, how shapes and forms are created, how one can observe , think, create and bring it into reality. I want to became a renowned fashion designer . My unique feature is I more focus on minimal designing as simple and elegant with the mixture of todays trend and my touch. The 4 brothers who enjoyed the company of the colorful tourists that visited their shop in the market, became more and more professional in the clothing business. In the first years all parcels were sent by the postal service and in 1989 , • LILA SHYAM became the first overseas exporters in Pushkar. • The years went by and one shop become two, and then another, and finally a small factory still situated near the Brahma Temple in town. Today the 4 brothers are succeeded by the younger generation who grew up into this colorful exciting business. • In 2012 the company moved into their new modern Factory with more then 500 employees under one roof. • The LILA SHYAM company has customers from all corners of the world, who return year after year to enjoy and work in the professional and friendly environment created by the LILA SHYAM Family and Staff. • Here we have learned all the process of manufacturing of the garment in export houses and also learned how team work has been done by all the departments

  • 13. A collection is the range of garments, or A grouping of outfits or look that are presented in variety of ways . They are designed and produced for sale to retailers or direct to customers . This range of pieces may be inspired by designed for A season or particular occasion, trend, theme or design direction reflecting cultural and social influences. Collection are usually constructed from A combination of silhouettes , colours and fabrics, with the emphasis varying depending on the designers particular aesthetic. A collection requires an enormous amount of research, investigation and planning. Successful designers and manufacturers and retailers have A clear understanding of their customers needs as well as understanding their position in highly competitive market. But as A student I am going to take an imaginary hypothetical client. In order to gain an understanding of current fashion stock and ranges across market levels ,many designers conduct ‘comp shop’. This term refers to comparing stock in competitors retail, outlets and the market levels. Quality of fabric and construction and detailing were carefully studied along side prices and origin of manufactures. What Is Collection And How It’s Made?
  • 14. What Is Collection And How It’s Made? By careful investigation and competitors analysis. Designers can begin to identify a specific market area and customers for fashion vision When developing a collection with a staff team the designer will begin by explaining the overall look and theme of collection. A key part of designers role is sourcing fabric and premier vision is the most famous in fashion fabrics trend exhibitions and manufacturers across the world. As fashion has evolved information source are now widely available online, the trend forecasting industry has responded to provide a wide range of product. The development process is cycling and dependent upon a number of team members and specialist activities. As fabric plays important role in designing any outfit. The time when I was visiting places in search of fabric, I had heard about the hosiery factory near by my house. I visited there for seeing the material for the further step of making my collection. There were 4 rooms , in first room master ji Was sitting who was cutting the fabric according to individuals measurement's . 2nd room was the stitching room where 3-4 persons where stitching the material and the 3rd room was fabric material room, where master ji took me. There I saw variety of hosiery fabrics and there were also some section of cloths in which waste scrap material was kept . I asked master ji that what will he do from these waste fabrics . He said either they will discard it or burn it , or dumped it into the garbage and garbage picker will take all the waste. Then instantly a thought came into my mind that what if I use those waste material in making of my outfit. Rather then troughing them all should not I use it? This thought lead me to upcycle and sustainable fashion. Now I was just imagining How to design my collection from those waste left over fabric pieces and bringing up my design into latest trend. That’s how I thought waste can also be taken into trend. FOR FABRICATION I VISITED NEAR BY HOSIERY FACTORY
